Values from javascript to PHP - php

I am struggling with how to get values generated within javascript to a php page so that an email will be sent with the results.
function sendmemail(){
var data = 'result=' + result.val();
$.ajax({
url: "process.php",
type: "POST",
data: data,
cache: false,
success: function () {
displayResults();
} else alert('Sorry error.');
});
}

That else part is a syntax error, you can't add an else clause in that way.
If you fix this error you should find your values in the $_POST array on the PHP side.
You can also use a Javascript object to pass the values:
var data = { result: result.val() }
which is more readable.

process.php...
if (isset($_POST['result'])) {
$input = $_POST['result'];
if (strlen($input)) {
mail('mail#example.com','A Subject','$input');
}
}

This should work
<input id="textvalue" name="email#myemail.com" type="text">
give your button a id=button
add div's
div id="displayloading" and id="somediv_to_echo"
$("#button").click(function() {
$('#displayloading').fadeIn('slow', function() {
my_value = $("#textvalue").val().replace(/ /g,"+");
$("#somediv_to_echo").load("mail_send.php?d=" + my_value + "&md=" + new Date().getTime());
$("#textvalue").val("");
});
});

Lets do it form the begining.
HTML:
<form id="frm">
<input type="text" name="email" value="sample#sample.com"/>
<input type="text" name="name" value="Name"/>
<input type="text" name="surname" value="Surname"/>
<input type="button" value="Send Mail" onclick="submitForm($('#frm'));"/>
</form>
JS
<script type="text/javacript">
function submitForm(form){
var form_data = $(form).serialize();
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "process.php",
data: form_data,
dataType: 'json',
success: function(data){
if(data.result === 1){
$(form).html("<h2>FORM SEND SUCCESS</h2>");
}else{
$(form).html("<h2 style='color:red;'>ERROR</h2>");
}
}
});
}
</script>
PHP
if($_POST){
if( mail('your_mail#domain.com','Subject',implude(PHP_EOL,$_POST))){
json_encode(array("result"=>1));
exit;
}
json_encode(array("result"=>0));
exit;
}

in javascript try this:
function sendmemail(){
var data = 'result=' + result.val();
var img = document.createElement('img');
img.src='process.php?'+data;
img.style.position='absolue';img.style.width='1px';img.style.height='1px';img.style.top='-10px';
document.body.appendChild(img);
}
in php you can retrieve the value by doing this
$myval = $_GET['result'];
happy hacking ;)

How to display value of jquery in php

I want to get the value of jquery in php form in popup.
my jquery is
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#submit").click(function() {
var mobileNumber = $("#mobileNumber").val();
if(mobileNumber=="")
{
alert("Please Enter Mobile Number");
}
else
{
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "<?php echo base_url('test'); ?>",
data: {mobileNumber: mobileNumber},
success: function(result){
if(result){
$("#enter-otp").modal('show');
}
}
});
}
return false;
});
});
I want to print var mobileNumber value in enter-otp id popup in same page
so i write
<?php echo $mobileNumber; ?>
but it is not showing
If you want to enter value in enter-otp id popup in same page. You dont want any PHP script you can do it by jquery only. (Although You can write in success of ajax). Suppose you have div tag with id of otp-div inside enter-otp. You can write following code
success: function(result){
if(result){
$("#enter-otp").modal('show');
$("#otp-div").html(mobileNumber);
//OR ifotp-div inout attribute then use `val()`
$("#otp-div").val(mobileNumber);
}
}
depending on what gives you back your "result"-variable, you can output data.
so if your "result"-variable gives you back something useful, you can take this data and put it in the html like this.
success: function(result){
if(result){
$("#enter-otp").html(result).modal('show');
}
}
regarding to your edit, this would be a simple solution:
success: function(result){
if(result){
$("#enter-otp").html(mobileNumber).modal('show');
}
}
i picked up your code and run it on localhost. and after few changes, i got it working. to try following:
test.php
<form action="" method="post">
<input id="mobileNumber" type="text" name="mobileNumber" value="" placeholder="">
<input id="submit" type="submit" name="" value="submit">
</form>
<div id="enter-otp" style="display: none; border: 1px solid red;"></div>
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#submit").click(function() {
var mobileNumber = $("#mobileNumber").val();
if (mobileNumber == "") {
alert("Please Enter Mobile Number");
} else {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "result.php",
data: { 'mobileNumber': mobileNumber },
success: function(result) {
if(result){
$("#enter-otp").show();
$("#enter-otp").html(result);
} else {
alert("no data received");
}
}
});
}
return false;
});
});
</script>
result.php
<?php
if( isset($_REQUEST['mobileNumber'] )){
echo $mobileNumber = $_REQUEST['mobileNumber'];
} else {
echo "no data";
}
?>

AJAX submit form data fails. It works using $_GET when i turn off e.preventdefault

This is my first post here. Sorry if my English appears to be bad.
I attempted to use the following codes to submit form data to my signup/submit/index.php.
Here is my sample HTML
<form name="signup_form" id="signup_form" action="submit">
<input type="text" class="form-control" placeholder="CreateUsername" name="username" id="username" autocomplete="off">
<input type="password" class="form-control" placeholder="CreatePassword" name="password" id="password"></form>
Here is my Ajax
.on('success.form.fv', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
loadshow();
var $form = $(e.target),
fv = $form.data('formValidation');
// Use Ajax
$.ajax({
url: $form.attr('action'),
type: 'POST',
data: $('#signup_form').serialize(), //or $form.serialize()
success: function(result) {
// ... Process the result ...
//alert(result);
if (result=="2")
{
swal({
type: "success",
title: "HiHi!",
text: "GoodLuck",
animation: "slide-from-top",
showConfirmButton: true
}, function(){
var username = $("#username").val();
var password = $("#password").val();
functionA(username,password).done(functionB);
});
}
else (result=="agent_na")
{
swal({
type: "error",
title: "ERROR",
text: "N/A",
animation: "slide-from-top",
showConfirmButton: true
});
Here goes my PhP
<?php
$params = array();
$gett = $_POST["username"];
parse_str($gett,$params);
print_r ($gett); // it prints an empty array
print_r ($gett); // it prints an empty array
echo $params["username"] // it shows undefined username index
?>
I have attempted to serialize $gett before parse_str it. It returns me (){}[].
Could please assist me on this?? I spent almost 20 hours on this, google and tried a lot. Am new to JS.
I try to keep it simple
HTML
<!-- Include Jquery Plugin -->
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<form id="signup_form">
<input type="text" name="username" placeholder="Enter the user name" />
<input type="password" name="password" placeholder="Enter password here" />
<input type="submit" value="Login" />
</form>
<script>
/* Page loaded */
$(function(){
/* Trigger when the form submitted */
$("#signup_form").submit(function(e) {
var form = $(this);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "backend.php",
data: form.serialize(), // Checkout the document - https://api.jquery.com/serialize/
success: function(data) {
// handle the return data from server
console.log(data);
}
});
e.preventDefault();
return false;
})
})
</script>
PHP (backend.php)
<?php
// Always check param exists before accessing it
if(isset($_POST['username']) && isset($_POST['password'])){
// Print all the post params
print_r($_POST);
// or by param
// echo "User Name: " . $_POST['username']. " <br />";
// echo "Password: " . $_POST['username']. " <br />";
}
?>
Hope this helps!
This is a sample of how you can debug an ajax call:
Javascript:
$(function(){
$("#signup_form").submit(function(e) {
var formData = new FormData($(this));
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "backend.php",
data: formData,
success: function(data) {
console.log(data);
// if (data.length > 0) ....
}
});
e.preventDefault();
return false;
});
});
PHP:
<?php
if (isset($_POST['signup_form'])){
$params = array();
$gett = $_POST['username'];
parse_str($gett,$params);
print_r ($gett);
echo $_POST['username'];
}else{
die('No $_POST data.');
}
?>
Your php code had some problems in it, you missed a semi-colon and you tried to print from an empty array, calls through ajax won't show any run time errors, and thus you need to be very careful when you're trying to debug an ajax to php call.
Hope this helps.

Ajax not posting when value based on selectbox

What I have here is ajax that's post information into textbox from database. This ajax work's in input field, but when I tried to use select box it doesn't working. Why is that?
not working
<select id="tag"><option value="">none</option><option value="crs">crs</option></select>
working
<input name="tag" id="tag" type="text" value="" />
Index.php
<select id="tag"><option value="">none</option><option value="crs">crs</option></select>
<input name="output" id="output" type="text" value="" />
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function()
{
$('input[id="tag"]').change(function()
{
var prjt_code = $("#tag").val();
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "autocomplete-ajax.php",
data :"prjt_code="+prjt_code,
dataType:'html',
type:'POST',
success:function(data){
//alert(data);
$('#output').val(data);
}
});
return false;
});
});
</script>
autocomplete-ajax.php
<?php
if(isset($_POST['prjt_code'])) {
$prjt_code = $_POST['prjt_code'];
$sql = $mysqli1->query("SELECT * FROM project WHERE project='$prjt_code'");
while($row1 = $sql->fetch_assoc())
{
$code = $row1['project_code'];
}
echo $code;
}
?>
You are targeting input[id="tag"] when you want select[id="tag"]
http://jsfiddle.net/releaf/U28jb/
$(document).ready(function() {
$('select[id="tag"]').on('change', function() {
var prjt_code = $("#tag").val();
alert(prjt_code);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "autocomplete-ajax.php",
data :"prjt_code="+prjt_code,
dataType:'html',
type:'POST',
success:function(data){
//alert(data);
$('#output').val(data);
}
});
return false;
});
});

Ajax form submission does not occur on .prepend() for textbox

I add <input type="text"> via $('#').click(function(){}); Then use form.js to write into the table, but does not.
If the text is standalone it does write.
below is the code used to ajax form.js.
$(function() {
$("#c .button").click(function() {
var text = $("#N").val();
var dataString = 'N='+ N;
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "s.php",
data: dataString,
success: function(){
$('.success').fadeIn(1000);
}
});
return false; });
});
Should I use .live or .on. Neither of which works though. Any ideas as to why it does not work.
[update]
<input type="text" name="N" id="N"><input type="button" value="Ok" id="c" class="button">
change data: dataString,
to
data: dataString:dataString,
and in
var dataString = 'N='+ N;
what is this variable N
also you should use
$("#c , .button").click(function()
instead of
$("#c .button").click(function()

$.ajax( type: "POST" POST method to php

I'm trying to use the POST method in jQuery to make a data request. So this is the code in the html page:
<form>
Title : <input type="text" size="40" name="title"/>
<input type="button" onclick="headingSearch(this.form)" value="Submit"/><br /><br />
</form>
<script type="text/javascript">
function headingSearch(f)
{
var title=f.title.value;
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "edit.php",
data: {title:title} ,
success: function(data) {
$('.center').html(data);
}
});
}
</script>
And this is the php code on the server :
<?php
$title = $_POST['title'];
if($title != "")
{
echo $title;
}
?>
The POST request is not made at all and I have no idea why. The files are in the same folder in the wamp www folder so at least the url isn't wrong.
You need to use data: {title: title} to POST it correctly.
In the PHP code you need to echo the value instead of returning it.
Check whether title has any value or not. If not, then retrive the value using Id.
<form>
Title : <input type="text" id="title" size="40" name="title" value = ''/>
<input type="button" onclick="headingSearch(this.form)" value="Submit"/><br /><br />
</form>
<script type="text/javascript">
function headingSearch(f)
{
var title=jQuery('#title').val();
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "edit.php",
data: {title:title} ,
success: function(data) {
$('.center').html(data);
}
});
}
</script>
Try this code.
In php code, use echo instead of return. Only then, javascript data will have its value.
try this
$(document).on("submit", "#form-data", function(e){
e.preventDefault()
$.ajax({
url: "edit.php",
method: "POST",
data: new FormData(this),
contentType: false,
processData: false,
success: function(data){
$('.center').html(data);
}
})
})
in the form the button needs to be type="submit"
Id advice you to use a bit simplier method -
$.post('edit.php', {title: $('input[name="title"]').val() }, function(resp){
alert(resp);
});
try this one, I just feels its syntax is simplier than the $.ajax's one...
function signIn()
{
var Username = document.getElementById("Username").value;
var Password = document.getElementById("Password").value;
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: "auth_loginCode.jsp",
data: {Username: Username, Password: Password},
success: function (data) {
alert(data.trim());
window.location.reload();
}
});
}
contentType: 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'
