array_count_values of a multi dimensional array? - php

I have searched this question a lot. But I could not find a proper solution anywhere. Just like you do an array_count_values() for a single dimensional array, what do you do for a multi dimensional array if you want similar type of a solution?
For example-
Array
(
[0] => Array
(
[07/11] => 134
)
[1] => Array
(
[07/11] => 134
)
[2] => Array
(
[07/11] => 145
)
[3] => Array
(
[07/11] => 145
)
[4] => Array
(

Using the variable $arr for your array, you could do this:

In your place I would have altered the structure of the data array. In your case:

Just like you do an array_count_values() for a single dimensional array, what do you do for a multi dimensional array.
We do it by turning it to one single dimensional array, then we call our funciton

How can we find the count of duplicate elements in a multidimensional array,

Sum like values in Multi-Dimensional array php

I need to sum the values in element 1 of my array where the values in element 0 are duplicate.
Here's a small piece of my array

You can use a combination of array_intersect, array_column and array_sum to only iterate twice. (One for each unique column 0 value).
$col0 = array_column($arr, 0);
$col1 = array_column($arr, 1);
Foreach(array_unique($col0) as $val){
$res[] = [$val, array_sum(array_intersect_key($col1, array_intersect($col0,[$val])))];

The way I've done it is made sure all duplicates where put in the same array.
// Your data
$sample = [[3, 1],[3, 2],[3, 128],[39, 4]];
foreach($sample as $array){
$tmp[$array[0]][] = $array[1];
}
# Output: {"3":[1,2,128],"39":[4]}
Now sum the arrays, and put it back to the structure it originally was.
foreach($tmp as $k => $v){
$new[] = [$k, array_sum($v)];
}
# Output: [[3,131],[39,4]]

Your desired result is an array of arrays. You have to split each entry of your array into 2 entities and push them as an array into a new array, then json_encode() the new array.
This php-snippet only works, if your input is consistantly an array of strings, containing each one comma as separator between name and int-value:
$arr2 = array();

You only need to iterate one array, not both of them:
foreach ($name as $key => $name_value) {
echo "$name_value => " . $key1[$key];
}
You can use a simple for loop to do this
for ($i = 0; $i < count($name); $i++) {
echo $name[$i] . '=>' . $key[$i]
}
The problem with your code is you're using the same variable $key for both foreachs, so the last one overwrites the value.
foreach ($key1 as $key => $value1) {
foreach ($name as $key => $value) {
echo $value "=>" $value1 ;
//echo "$value1";

You could make things easier by combining those two arrays, making $name array be the keys and $key1 array be the values
$newArray = array_combine($name, $key1);
foreach ($newArray as $name => $key) {

I am afraid this wont be possible if you want the output as associative array as same key name in an associative array is not allowed. It would be always overwritten if you are dealing with the associative arrays.
Although you may have something like this:
array_map(function($key, $val) {return array($key=>$val);}, $name, $key1)
Output:
Array ( [0] => Array ( [General] => 1 ) [1] => Array ( [General] => 2 ) [2] => Array ( [Outdoors] => 7 ) [3] => Array ( [Dining] => 11 ) [4] => Array ( [Dining] => 12 ) [5] => Array ( [Kitchen] => 17 ) [6] => Array ( [Kitchen] => 18 ) ).
But if you want the output in string format It is possible.
for ($i = 0; $i < count($key); $i++) {
echo $name[$i] . '=>' . $key[$i].'<br>';
}
Just change the foreach as follows...
foreach ($key1 as $key => $value1) {
echo $name[$key] ."=>". $value1."<br>";
}
replace the <br> with \n if you're running through the linux terminal. Also don't miss the '.' operator to concatenate the string..
Nested foreach won't do what you need... Good luck..

How to group keys and values of an (sub)array and sum its values using PHP? [duplicate]

I have the following array

And I would like to group the key[0] of the subarray so I can see how many equal keys it has.

I tried with array_count_values, but without success.

I think that when we solve the first part of the problem, the second would follow easier with quite the same method.
The final purpose is to divide the sum of values by the number of occurrences of each key group, so we can have an average of the values just like that:
ALFA => (213+151+197) / 3 = 187
BETA => 167
ZETA => 254
GAMA => (138+213) / 2 = 175,5
This is not the main problem, but as I said, I'm stuck with the beginning of the solution and would appreciate any help.
I'm surprised at all the long and complicated answers. However, the initial foreach to model your data to something manageable is needed. After that you just need to do a really simple array_walk.
