I'm using the last version of ADOdb PHP (5.18) to make some queries in a SQL Server database.
I select data in this way:
$rS = $localDb->Execute($sql);
if (!$rS) {
echo "Error: " . $localDb->ErrorMsg() . "\n";
}
else {
$tot = $rS->RecordCount();
echo " " . $tot . " record da inserire...\n";
while (!$rS->EOF) {
$id = $rS->fields['id'];
$field1 = $rS->fields['field1'];
$field2 = $rS->fields['field2'];
$rS->MoveNext();
}
}
All works, and I fetch data, but when a field in the database's current row is NULL, the relative element in $rS->fields has the value of the value of the last not-NULL row for the same field.
This is a big problem because I don't have correct data in the current row.
I tried search for this problem but I did not find any solution.
Coud you help me, please?
Look into adodb5/adodb.inc.php and find the GetRowAssoc function. It should be the following defintion:
function GetRowAssoc($upper=ADODB_ASSOC_CASE_UPPER)
{
$record = array();
if (!$this->bind) {
$this->GetAssocKeys($upper);
}
foreach($this->bind as $k => $v) {
if( array_key_exists( $v, $this->fields ) ) {
$record[$k] = $this->fields[$v];
} elseif( array_key_exists( $k, $this->fields ) ) {
$record[$k] = $this->fields[$k];
} else {
# This should not happen... trigger error ?
$record[$k] = null;
}
}
return $record;
}

public function test_passing_string() {
$this - > load - > model(array('registration/Registration_model', 'Jawaban_lab_model'));
$registration = new Registration_model();
$jawaban_lab = new Jawaban_lab_model();
$id = "kuda4";
$jawaban_lab - > load($id); //load jawaban_lab from id
$manualy_written_registration_number = "REG/FM/130102-0001";
echo "registration number from jawaban_lab->registration_number : ".$jawaban_lab - > registration_number
.
"<br> registration number from manualy_written_registration_number : ".$manualy_written_registration_number;
//$registration->load($jawaban_lab->registration_number);
$registration - > load($manualy_written_registration_number);
echo "<br> patient id : ".json_encode($registration - > PatientID);
}
Before go to the question, I will explain my code.
On test_passing_string() function, I call 2 model, and create object for each model there are $registration and $jawaban_lab.
To load data from model I create a load() function. load() has two parameters: column_value and column_name. The default value for column_name is that model's Primary Key.
BUT
The problem comes from
$registration->load($jawaban_lab->registration_number);
I can't retrieve any $registration object data, then I test it by passing the value manually by write this:
$manualy_written_registration_number = "REG/FM/130102-0001";
$registration - > load($manualy_written_registration_number);
And the result appear, doesn't that mean my load() function is fine?
Then I check value inside $jawaban_lab->registration_number by echoing it, surprisingly it display same value as my $manualy_written_registration_number variable.
This is screenshoot in my browser when I run test_passing_string() function:
Using $manualy_written_registration_number value
Using $jawaban_lab->registration_number value
Why can't I use the value from
$jawaban_lab->registration_number even though it has the same value as
my manually writen registraiton number?
public function load($column_value, $column_name = NULL) {
$query = NULL;
if ($column_name != NULL) {
// using custom column.
$query = $this->dbs->get_where($this::DB_TABLE, array(
$column_name => $column_value
));
} else {
// using column primary key .
$query = $this->dbs->get_where($this::DB_TABLE, array(
$this::DB_TABLE_PK => $column_value
));
}
if ($query->row()) {
$this->populate($query->row());
}
}
I use multiple database using CodeIgniter 3, registration_model from SQL server and jawaban_lab from MySQL, jawaban lab have column registration_number to store registration_model primary key
var_dump
First of all thanks to rlanvin and Nirajan N Raju
from rlanvin's comment, i find out the problem is come from codeigniter's query helper, because when i enable codeigniter profiling sql server query return "SELECT CASE WHEN (##OPTIONS | 256) = ##OPTIONS THEN 1 ELSE 0 END AS qi"
so i think codeigniter might be cannot generate query so i create the query manually
i change
public function load($column_value, $column_name = NULL) {
$query = NULL;
if ($column_name != NULL) {
// using custom column.
$query = $this->dbs->get_where($this::DB_TABLE, array(
$column_name => $column_value
));
} else {
// using column primary key .
$query = $this->dbs->get_where($this::DB_TABLE, array(
$this::DB_TABLE_PK => $column_value
));
}
if ($query->row()) {
$this->populate($query->row());
}
}
to this
public function load($column_value, $column_name = NULL) {
$query = NULL;
if ($column_name != NULL) {
$query = $this->dbs->query("SELECT * FROM " . $this::DB_TABLE . " WHERE " . $column_name . " LIKE '" . trim($column_value) . "'");
} else {
$query = $this->dbs->query("SELECT * FROM " . $this::DB_TABLE . " WHERE " . $this::DB_TABLE_PK . " LIKE '" . trim($column_value) . "'");
}
if ($query->row()) {
$this->populate($query->row());
}
}
I am struggling to workout a good method to update one column of my wcx_options table.
The new data is sent fine to the controller but my function isn't working at all.
I assumed i could loop through each column by option_id updating with the values from the array.
The database:
I update the option_value column with the new information via a jQuery AJAX Call to a controller which then calls a function from the backend class.
So far i have the following code:
if(isset($_POST['selector'])) {
if($_POST['selector'] == 'general') {
if($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH'] == 'XMLHttpRequest' && isset($_POST['token'])
&& $_POST['token'] === $_SESSION['token']){
$site_name = $_POST['sitename'];
$site_url = $_POST['siteurl'];
$site_logo = $_POST['sitelogo'];
$site_tagline = $_POST['sitetagline'];
$site_description = $_POST['sitedescription'];
$site_admin = $_POST['siteadmin'];
$admin_email = $_POST['adminemail'];
$contact_info = $_POST['contactinfo'];
$site_disclaimer = $_POST['sitedisclaimer'];
$TimeZone = $_POST['TimeZone'];
$options = array($site_name, $site_url, $site_logo, $site_tagline, $site_description, $site_admin, $admin_email,$contact_info, $site_disclaimer, $TimeZone);
// Send the new data as an array to the update function
$backend->updateGeneralSettings($options);
}
else {
$_SESSION['status'] = '<div class="error">There was a Problem Updating the General Settings</div>';
}
}
}
This is what i have so far in terms of a function (It doesnt work):
public function updateGeneralSettings($options) {
$i = 1;
foreach($options as $option_value) {
$where = array('option_id' => $i);
$this->queryIt("UPDATE wcx_options SET option_value='$option_value' WHERE option_id='$where'");
$i++;
}
if($this->execute()) {
$_SESSION['success'] = 'Updated General Settings Successfully';
}
}
With the given DB-layout i'd suggest to organize your data as assiciative array using the db fieldnames, like:
$option = array(
'site_name' => $_POST['sitename'],
'site_url' => $_POST['siteurl'],
// etc.
'timeZone' => $_POST['TimeZone']
);
And than use the keys in your query:
public function updateGeneralSettings($options) {
foreach($options as $key => $value) {
$this->queryIt("UPDATE wcx_options SET option_value='$value' WHERE option_name='$key'");
if($this->execute()) {
$_SESSION['success'] = 'Updated General Settings Successfully';
}
}
}
(However, are you sure, you do not want to have all options together in one row?)
Change your query, you try to use an array as where condition. In the syntax you used that won't work. Just use the counter as where condition instead of define a $where variable. Try this:
public function updateGeneralSettings($options) {
$i = 1;
foreach($options as $option_value) {
$this->queryIt("UPDATE wcx_options SET option_value='$option_value' WHERE option_id='$i'");
$i++;
}
if($this->execute()) {
$_SESSION['success'] = 'Updated General Settings Successfully';
}
}
During my coding I really got stuck into this problem.
I ran a foreach loop and for every item I had to get a certain value from a function.
But I got only one returned. I could not figure out what was happening. I hope you guys surely will.
Below is the short version of my program.
Database structure is given at last.
<?php
function opendb() {
mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "root");
mysql_select_db("something_db");
}
function sql_query($sql) {
$datas = array();
if ($res = mysql_query($sql)) {
$x = 0;
while ( $data = mysql_fetch_assoc($res) ) {
$datas[$x] = $data;
$x += 1;
}
}
return $datas;
}

$datas = sql_query($sql);

$p_id = $datas[0]['id'];
if ($pid != 0) {

} else {
return $p_id;
}
}
opendb();
$datas_pkg = sql_query("SELECT * FROM tbl_packages WHERE 1");
foreach ( $datas_pkg as $data_pkg ) {
echo $data_pkg['destination_id'] . '-->';
echo $parent_id = get_parent_id('tbl_destinations', 'parent', $data_pkg['destination_id']);
echo '<br/>';
}

Database structure..

tbl_packages

If I did not clear my question please let me know so that I can help you to help me.
if($pid!=0)
{
get_parent_id($table,$parent,$pid);
}
You call the function, but never use its value.
Problem:
I am trying to delete all sublevels of a category by using a class. Currently I can only make it delete two sublevels, not three.

Scenario:
Say you have the following structure in a :
Literature
-- Integration of sources
---- Test 1
It will result in the following in the database table:
When I try to delete this sublevel, it will leave the last sublevel in the database while it should delete it. The result will be:
The PHP code:
//Check if delete button is set
if (isset($_POST['submit-deletecategory']))
{
//Get $_POST variables for category id
$CategoryParent = intval($_POST['CategoryList']);
//Check if category is selected
if ($CategoryParent != "#")
{
//Get parent category and subsequent child categories
$query = "SELECT CID, Item AS Name, Parent FROM " . TB_CATEGORY . " ORDER BY Name";
$items = new ItemTree($query);
if ($items->get_item_name($_POST['CategoryList']) !== false)
{
//Build up erase list
$CategoryErase = $items->get_id_in_node($CategoryParent);
$CategoryEraseList = implode(", ", $CategoryErase);
}
else
{
$CategoryEraseList = 0;
}
//Remove categories from database
$query = "DELETE FROM " . TB_CATEGORY . " WHERE CID IN ($CategoryEraseList)";
$result = mysql_query($query) or die ('Database Error (' . mysql_errno() . ') ' . mysql_error());
//Return a confirmation notice
header("Location: settings.php");
exit;
}
}
Thank you in advance for any guidance I can get to solve the issue.
Here is a way to do it : use a recursive function, which will first look for the leaf item (the deepest in your tree). You remove children first, then the parent. And for each child, you remove child's children first, etc...
deleteSub(1);
function deleteSub($cat_id) {
$request = "SELECT * FROM ". TB_CATEGORY ." WHERE Parent = ".$cat_id;
$results = mysql_query($request);
while($child = mysql_fetch_array($results))
{
deleteSub($child["CID"]);
}
$request = "DELETE FROM ". TB_CATEGORY ." WHERE CID = ".$cat_id;
return mysql_query($request);
}
A better way could be use this kind of recursive function to store CIDs in an array, then make a single DELETE request, but I think you'll be able to adapt this code.
I'm not going to read or try to understand the entire code, but it seems to me you need some sort of recursion function. What I basicly would do is create a function that goes up in the hierachy and one that goes down.
Note: It has been a while since i've written anything in procedural mysql, so please check if the mysql_num_rows(),mysql_fetch_array and so on is written in the correct manner
EDIT: I've just noticed you only wanted a downwards deletion and therefore zessx's answer is more valid
<?php
function recursiveParent($id) {
$sql = 'SELECT parent FROM betyg_category WHERE CID=' . $id;
$result = mysql_query($sql);
if(mysql_num_rows($result) > 0) {
while($r = mysql_fetch_array($result,MYSQLI_ASSOC)) {
recursiveParent($r['parent']);
}
}
$sql = 'DELETE FROM betyg_category WHERE CID=' . $id;
mysql_query($sql);
}
function recursiveChild($parent) {
$sql = 'SELECT CID FROM betyg_category WHERE parent=' . $parent;
$result = mysql_query($sql);
if(mysql_num_rows($result) > 0) {
while($r = mysql_fetch_array($result,MYSQLI_ASSOC)) {
recursiveChild($r['CID']);
}
}
$sql = 'DELETE FROM betyg_category WHERE parent=' . $parent;
mysql_query($sql);
}
function delete($id) {
recursiveParent($id);
recursiveChild($id);
}
?>
This is my way to do. instead of recursive the query to run, i get all the child's id first then only run query. here the code refer:-
First, defined a variable called $delete_node_list as array. (to store all node id that need to be delete)
function delete_child_nodes($node_id)
{
$childs_node = $this->edirectory_model->get_child_nodes($node_id);
if(!empty($childs_node))
{
foreach($childs_node as $node)
{
$this->delete_child_nodes($node['id']);
}
}
$this->delete_node_list[] = $node_id;
}
in mysql..
$sql = 'DELETE FROM betyg_category WHERE CID IN '.$this->delete_node_list;
mysql_query($sql);
I have asked a couple of questions on here in a rush, and I am getting nowhere fast, I keep changing things and just ending up with a different problem, and no closer to having a clue what is causing it. I am a PHP MYSQL man, and I am having to work with Access via the COM class.
Basically the client has multiple servers, each with an access database, and each with a CMS, the tables should contain the same data and have slipped out of Sync. It is my job to come up with a way of resyncing them.
I have came to bringing the data out into an Array, serializing it and saving it to a file on the main server (the one all should sync to) and then on the other servers, downloading the file, unserializing it and item by item, checking if it is in the DB, and if not inserting it. The insert is failing. I have tried building an sql query for each item and doing $this->conn->Execute(); and that is failing row by row on silly things, so I am now trying this:
function syncCMS()
{
$this->output['msg'] .= "<p><b>The following properties were added to the database on ." . $this->hsite . "</b></p>";
$this->get_field_names();
$this->make_connection(); //assigns connection to $this->conn
$rs = new COM('ADODB.Recordset');
$rs->CursorType = 2;
$rs->CursorLocation = 1;
$rs->LockType = 4;
$rs->Open($this->table_name,$this->conn);
foreach ($this->awayPropertyDetails as $key => $property)
{
$this->check_for_property($property['pname']);
if (!$this->property_exists || $this->mode == "fullSync")
{
unset($values);
$bfields = array("pshow","rent","best", "oda1", "oda2", "oda3", "oda4", "oda5", "oda6", "odap", "topool","tomountain","tofitness","tosauna"); //stores the yes/no values
$q = "INSERT INTO " . $this->table_name . " (" . $this->dbfields . ") VALUES (";
foreach ($property as $k => $value)
{
if ($k == "Kimlik") {
$value = null;
}
if ($k == "tarih")
{
$value = date("d/m/Y");
$value = "'" . $value . "'";
}
if (in_array($k,$bfields))
{
if ($value == "")
{
$value = 'FALSE';
}
else
{
$value = 'TRUE';
}
}
$rs->fields->$k = $value;
$this->output['msg'] .= $property['pname'] . " added";
}
$rs->BatchUpdate();
$rs->Close();
$this->conn->Close();
//$this->download_images($property['OBJECT_NR'],$k);
//$this->output['msg'] .= "<p>Images added</p>";
}
}
$message .= "</ul>";
$this->output['msg'] .= $message;
$this->sendOutput();
//print_r($property);*/
}
And getting this:
Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'com_exception' with message 'Unable to lookup `Kimlik': Unknown name. ' in D:\inetpub...
Kimlik is the name of the first field, the Auto Number field, I took it out and the problem shifted to the second field.
I got there with:
$sql = "SELECT * FROM " . $this->table_name;
if (!$this->property_exists || $this->mode == "fullSync")
{
$this->make_connection();
$rs->Open($sql,$this->conn);
$rs->addnew();
foreach($rs->Fields as $field)
{
if ($field->name != "Kimlik")
{
$rs->Fields[$field->name] = $property[$field->name];
}
}
$rs->Update();
$rs->Close();
$this->conn->Close();
$msg = $this->download_images($property['OBJECT_NR'],$k);
$this->output['msg'] .= $property['pname'] . " added<br/>" . $msg . "<br/><br/>";
}
