Removing File URL with .htaccess - php

I am writing a program and run it locally with xampp. the full path to the program is http://192.168.101.103:7777/WeltesMaft/index.php
I am writing a .htaccess in C:\xampp\htdocs\WeltesMaft\
containing this
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/([^/]+)$
RewriteRule .* http://192.168.101.103:7777/WeltesMaft/%1 [L]
but somehow my htaccess doesnt work. it still showing like this
http://192.168.101.103:7777/WeltesMart/_resources/main.php
which is in index.php i am including main.php. So when user enters index.php, it will redirect to main.php in an instant.
I want to hide it so that the url looks like this,
http://192.168.101.103:7777/WeltesMart/
Please help me what am i doing wrong here...

You can use this code also.....
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ _resources/main.php/$1 [L,QSA]
</IfModule>

Change RewriteBase to your directory name and change the htaccess rule as following and try again:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /WeltesMaft
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/([^/]+)$
RewriteRule / index.php [L]

How do i shorten my url like facebook do to users profile page

I am trying to shorten my website url of a newly added page event like
mysite.com/asoebi/myevent instead of mysite.com/asoebi/index.php?event=myevent
but every time i try to change my .htaccess file it give an error
here is .htaccess code
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
RewriteRule ^index/(\w+)$ ./index.php?event=$1
</IfModule>
You have to enable mod_rewrite in apache for this to work.
Put this one in the .htaccess file in the /public_html/asoebi/ folder
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /asoebi/
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?event=$1 [L]
</IfModule>
Also remove the last rewriterule from the main htaccess file you posted above

How to undo changes made to a .htaccess file

I am fiddling around building my own CMS and playing around with the .htaccess file.
I was looking around the web for a snippet of code which would add a trailing slash onto every HTTP request.
When I inserted the code I realised that it would also remove the name of the subdirectory in which I was working.
URLS:
So this is what I had: localhost/project/index.php
This is what I wanted: localhost/projects/index.php/
This is the result I got: localhost/index.php/
But the real problem is this:
I saw the outcome, and I wanted to revert to example 1 from example 3. But after I deleted the code in the .htaccess file, the changes remained, and I have no idea how to revert this.
How do I revert this rewrite rule?
This is my .htaccess before implementing the "trailing slash"
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /tesla0.2/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}/index.html !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}/index.php !-f
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
</IfModule>
This is my .htaccess after:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /tesla0.2/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.(php|html?|jpg|gif)$
RewriteRule ^(.*)([^/])$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1$2/ [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}/index.html !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}/index.php !-f
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
</IfModule>
I assume that youre htaccess file is in the "projects" directory?
Try changing your rule to:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.(php|html?|jpg|gif)$
RewriteRule ^(.*)([^/])$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}/ [L,R=301]
You'll also need to clear your browser's cache, since the redirect is 301 (permanent), the browser will cache the redirect and use it indefinitely, since it's a permanent redirect.

.htaccess - works only with index.php/ not with /

I have an test project in sub directory (G:/wamp/www/test) which has only index.php and .htaccess
I tried to make friendly urls by adding RewriteRule to .htaccess like this:
RewriteEngine on
DirectoryIndex index.php
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^/*$ index.php
This worked on all other projects but it is not working on this one. When I want to access an URL like this:
http://localhost/test/TESTING_URL I am getting default 404 Not Found page. However, if I go like this: http://localhost/test/index.php/TESTING_URL - it works.
Apache error log is giving me the following error:
File does not exist: G:/wamp/www/test/TESTING_URL
The following worked for me:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /test/
DirectoryIndex index.php
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^/*$ index.php
Make sure that this .htaccess file is in the directory test and that there aren't any conflicting rewrite rules in any .htaccess file at a higher level.
Otherwise the only difference is the addition of the RewriteBase line.

How to create mod rewrite rule for simple api

I want to make my first api, but im having trouble setting up the urls. The api url is here:
http://tools.fifaguide.com/api/
So for example if some one goes to:
http://tools.fifaguide.com/api/player/messi
Then I need this page to be loaded:
http://tools.fifaguide.com/api/server.php
What do I write in .htaccess? and where should I put it?
This is what I have right now:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^api http://tools.fifaguide.com/api/server.php
But it doesnt do anything, also the htacces file is in the api folder.
Any help would be really apreciated!
This is what ended up working for me
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/api/ [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^ api/index.php [QSA,L]
////// wordpress stuff /////////
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
You might try this:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^api/(.*) http://tools.fifaguide.com/api/server.php [R,L]
And if you need the resulting url you could add this:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^api/(.*) http://tools.fifaguide.com/api/server.php?r=$1 [R,L]
Then in your script you could access the requested url with $_GET["r"] (assuming php...)
Also a helpful tool i've found for htaccess:

.htaccess all request to other file

Currently I have the following .htaccess file
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ public/index.php/$1 [L]
</IfModule>
Which works allmost perfect.
It rewerites urls like http://domain.com/something/ to the public/index.php file, like a charm, except when it is a file, just like it should.
However http://domain.com (without any path appended) (there is no index.php in the root, so it gives a 404 at the moment) is not being rewrited, how can I change this .htaccess so it rewrites this url too?
The index file is in public/index.php I want it to load that file through the use of .htaccess
Thanks
I believe to rewrite the root, you can simply do something along the lines of:
RewriteRule ^$ location/of/root/file [L]
You could try:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ public/index.php
RewriteBase should prepend the rule pattern with a leading slash, forcing it to match the root path.
Untested!
What you have there is inspired by WordPress?? It's a bad idea as it tell Apache to always check if the path is a file or a directory before redirecting.
I have something like this
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^.*/(css|images|javascript)(.*) [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.(swf|ico|php|xml)$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !robots.txt
RewriteRule (.*) index.php?page=$1&%{QUERY_STRING} [PT]
The first condition restricts this redirect from working in specific folders.
The seconds does it for specific extensions.
You can guess what the third does :)
