Visual Studio Code: Spawn UNKNOWN - php

There are multiple other posts reporting this, but they are related to javascript frameworks, etc.
I get this error when opening any .php extension file and the error pops up at the top and it always blocks the tabs, very annoying.
Similar posts, but does not solve:
visual studio code nodejs request 'launch': cannot launch target (reason: spawn node ENOENT)
Error: spawn UNKNOWN
Node-webkit child spawn UNKNOWN error

check your config file (F1 + config and select settings json) and search for:
"php.validate.executablePath": null,
I have the same error and it was because I have pointing to the wrong file:
"php.validate.executablePath": "C:\\xampp\\php\\php.ini"
it must point to (in my case):
"php.validate.executablePath": "C:\\xampp\\php\\php.exe",

I encountered the same issue today. If someone is using Ubuntu and XAMPP then your path is /opt/lampp/bin/php. I was using /opt/lampp/php therefore VSCode was showing Error spawning PHP: spawn EACCES error as soon as my files were loading in the editor.
Either you are using XAMPP or have installed PHP alone on Ubuntu Linux, you can always run whereis php in your terminal to locate php path.
The problem has also been discussed here https://github.com/felixfbecker/vscode-php-intellisense/issues/25
I hope this helps developers!

Bitnami unable to enable Curl

i AM USING A aws lightsail instance with a Bitnami Apache2 Lampstack setup on it.
My issue is I am unable to get php curl enabled. I seem to have a bunch of php.ini files all over the server in diffiferent locations. So I edited all of them removing the ; from the line that read extension=curl. I then restarted the instance. However my php file is still giving me the error saying
caught Exception: Shippo needs the CURL PHP extension.
When I run a phpinfo() I see my path to the ini file is /etc/php/8.0/apache2/php.ini
However when I do a which php command I am giving a path like this /opt/bitnami/php/bin/php
when I do a php -v I am also seeing it say PHP 7.4.27 so my php info file seems to say I am using php7.8 and my CLI feels i am using php7.4 which could be part of my issue.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? my other issue is I am having a hard time getting to the path /etc/php/8.0/apache2/php.ini I simply can not find a folder with 8.0 in it

FASTCGI process has failed frequently recently. Try the request again in a while

We have setup a Wordpress Website on IIS 10 which was working fine. But suddenly it stops working and i got this error
"FASTCGI process has failed frequently recently. Try the request again
in a while"
Restarting IIS fixed this problem.
Anybody tell me why this issue has occurred and how we can fix this ?
Thanks
Open command prompt as administrator and navigate to the php-cgi.exe
folder.
Execute any PHP file from your application to know the exact error. In my case, I created a simple phpinfo.php page and executed
following command.
C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\v7.4.5>php-cgi.exe E:\Websites\mysite\phpinfo.php
It showed me the exact error saying 'vcruntime140.dll is not
compatible with this PHP build' & I have updated to 'Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019'. You can download it from here.
Once you identified and resolved the error(point 3), you need to restart IIS server and run your website. It will work as expected.
If you're running PHP 8 turn track_errors Off in php.ini . Track_errors have been deprecated since 7.2 and can cause a fatal error in IIS
Finally, i found the solution to the issue, It is due to the low value given to "Rapid Fails PerMinute" - see above image posted by German Martin.
From Microsoft's website the default value for "Rapid Fails PerMinute" is 90 but i reduced it 10 and then the error "FASTCGI process has failed frequently recently...." started showing up.
Once i set it back to the default value of 90 , the error stopped. This is what worked for me, in my case.
You need to maximize "Instance MaxRequest" at FASTCGI Configuration. Just clic en IIS root -> FastCGI Settings, select you php-cgi.exe for WP and clic Edit. Then increise Instance MaxRequests
[IIS FastCGI Settings]

Cannot Start Wamp Server

For some unknown reason I cannot start WAMP server - The icon stays yellow no matter what:
Checked port 80, and it's not used.
No Skype, no Firewall.
Tried MANY solutions I suggested here in stackoverflow - absolutely nothing.
Tried to uninstall and reinstall - it worked for 10 minutes, then it didn't work again.
The only thing I'm changing is to include Virtual Hosts under httpd.conf. Checked every solution I could find on the net - nothing is working for me.
Maybe, just maybe it's because I previously installed PHP 5.5 apart from WAMP? If I go to PHP > PHP Extensions > then I can see there's a problem in php_opcache and php_enchant. When I click on them I get an error message that says: Could not execute menu item (internal error). [Execption] Could not perform service action: the service has not been started. The PHP Version I installed is 5.5.15. The PHP WAMP is 5.5.12... I don't have a clue how to uninstall PHP, and I couldn't find anything about that on the net.
PHP Error log says: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'c:/wamp/bin/php/php5.5.12/ext/php_intl.dll' - %1 is not a valid Win32 application. in Unknown on line 0
EDIT - It seems like the cause for the problem is me trying to include Virtual Host via httpd.conf file. When I excluded, like in default, WAMP is online again. Any suggestion of how to include virtual host and still get WAMP get online?
It looks like you're running on a corrupt install have you tried reinstalling the software?
Alternatively i would recommend using Xampp which basically offers the same service as Wampp only with a bit more ease of access (also allowing for Mecury mail service and an FTP server for remote access).
The problem with php_intl can be corrected easily, see this answer
In order to find out what Apache is complaining about with the Virtual Hosts definition look at the Windows Event Log or, launch a command window and
cd \wamp\bin\apache\apachex.y.z\bin
httpd -t
This should give you filename and line number where your errors are.
Try changing that port number anyway. Mine stays yellow if the port number is set to 80, even though WAMP says it's not being used by any other program.

"The specified procedure could not be found" IIS 6.0 and PHP5

I am trying to make PHP5 work over IIS 6.0 on Windows server 2003 and i am following this steps:
http://www.iisadmin.co.uk/?p=4
The thing is, there's no file named "php5isapi.dll" inside the php folder, so I am using php5isapi.dll instead. Is it correct? Or should I try to download the php5isapi.dll from somewhere.
Well, then, I keep following the steps and when I try to execute my php file, I get this message:
The specified procedure could not be found.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
UPDATE
I downloaded php5isapi.dll and tried to make it work with it but i am getting this error:
The specified module could not be found.
Also, after any change, i restart the Default Web Site clicking on stop and play.
UPDATE 2
Now, after rebooting, when trying to access the PHP file, the browser shows a 500 error:
The page cannot be displayed
I noticed that "php5isapi.ll" is no longer available for the last versions of PHP as pointed in here:
Why is php5isapi.dll missing after installing PHP for Windows?
Therefor, what i did was following this tutorial in order to do it with FastCGI
http://www.iis.net/learn/application-frameworks/install-and-configure-php-applications-on-iis/using-fastcgi-to-host-php-applications-on-iis-60
I found it on this comment:
Why is php5isapi.dll missing after installing PHP for Windows?
After restarting the server, it finally worked.

Can't get XDebug to make a connection in Vim. Getting "no attribue 'stop'" error

Judging by how many search engine hits this error message generates, I know this is a common problem, yet there aren't any helpful answers out there.
I'm trying to setup XDebug in Vim using Sam Ghods Debugger.vim script while following the instructions on How to Debug PHP with Vim and XDebug on Linux (which is a commonly referenced source on getting Vim setup with XDebug). I'm running MacVim 7.3 on OSX 10.6 and when I try to connect the debugger to the server, I get:
(<type 'exceptions.AttributeError'>, AttributeError("DbgProtocol instance has no attribute 'stop'",), <traceback object at 0x104595680>)
File "/Users/tjlahr/.vim/plugin/debugger.py", line 1078, in debugger_run
debugger.run()
File "/Users/tjlahr/.vim/plugin/debugger.py", line 928, in run
self.protocol.accept()
File "/Users/tjlahr/.vim/plugin/debugger.py", line 560, in accept
self.stop()
Does anybody have experience troubleshooting this error?
Please note that I'm not debugging over port 9000 because it seems it might conflict with fastcgi enabled in PHP. So I'm debugging over port 9001 and have changed by settings in php.ini and the g:debuggerPort variable respectively.
Thanks for your help.
I think I got it!
Can you try installing this Vim Plugin:
http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2508
It seems that "AttributeError("DbgProtocol instance has no attribute 'stop'",)" is a general error.
I just installed XDebug and the debugger.vim plugin and ended up receiving this message. My problem was that remote debugging was not enabled. Build a phpinfo file:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
somewhere in your web server directory, and check over all your xdebug configuration variables, which should be listed near the bottom of the page. On my system with xdebug-v2.2.0-dev built from the GitHub repo, xdebug.remote_enable was set to false. Pasting that at the bottom of your php.ini file and setting it's value to 1 enabled clients to connect to the xdebug session.
Also, in the xdebug source there is a directory called "debugclient", which can be used to test any connection problems. Follow the instructions in the INSTALL file in it's directory to build it.
And, one last thought, after you run the plugin script in VIM, you need to refresh the webpage you are trying to debug within 5 seconds, or else the script, acting as a client, will timeout.
