I am facing a unknown problem while I go insert data.Some data getting inserted in same table n same column but except one.

The problem is that when I going to insert the Contactperson,district,designation and phone no.Then only the data of Contactperson,district and phone no get inserted but not the designation..I dont know why this is happening even the coding is also right..Please help me. Thankyou
Your "if" statement is assigning '' to $designation. Use '==' for comparison.
if($district=='' or $phone=='' or $person=='' or $designation**=**'')
The if statement says, "if $district is '' or $phone is '' or $person is '' or 'I can assign nothing to $designation (which always succeeds)' - at which point you have successfully assigned '' to $designation. The if statement finishes and you insert '' into designation.

Note: Most of time we check where foreach value is empty ($results). But in your case you are checking some thing else ($message).

This isn't an issue with CodeIgniter so much as your code. What you are trying to do with the code is to put the message between the <thead> and <tbody>, and not in any table tags.
This is the same as trying to put it between rows in a table, and therefore gets interpreted as not being part of the table, and drawn outside of the table as a result.
If you put the message into the <tbody>, it will go in the right place, so you can do:

i am constructing a registration page for new members. after filling in the form, it will proceed to the confirm page. after confirmation, it will proceed to the reg_add.php to add the data from the form to the database.

Your problem is how you are retrieving the number of rows from the database.
mysql_query() does not retrieve the number of rows. It retrieves a result set.
Instead of:
