i want to make pagination on ci from other web reference, but average of them use only 1 table
does anyone know how to input more than 1 table on this condition
public function data($number,$offset){
return $query = $this->db->get('client',$number,$offset)->result();
}
i have try to input like this
public function data($number,$offset){
return $query = $this->db->get('client,advertisement,size',$number,$offset)->result();
}
but the result is not my expected
the NAMA is looping, the IKLAN too but the SIZE is not
i take the refences from here
I use this:
public function fetch_countries($limit, $start) {
$this->db->limit($limit, $start);
$this->db->join('client', 'advertisement.id_client= client.id_client','inner');
$this->db->join('size', 'advertisement.id_size= size.id_size','inner');
$query = $this->db->get("advertisement");
if ($query->num_rows() > 0) {
foreach ($query->result() as $row) {
$data[] = $row;
}
return $data;
}
return false;
}

I have the following function in my model to filter officer records user wise. The function is working fine.
public function getOfficer()
{
$q = $this->db->order_by('last_name','ASC')->get_where('tbl_officer', array('status' => '1', 'usr' =>$this->session->userdata('id_user')));
if ($q->num_rows() > 0) {
return $q->result();
}
return false;
}
Further, I want to filter officer records only for the user = 4 in the session, by p_code->8,10 and 24
The If functions as follows :
if($usr == 4)
{
$this->datatables->where('tbl_officer.p_code', 8)->or_where('tbl_officer.p_code', 10)->or_where('tbl_officer.p_code', 24);
} else {
$this->datatables->where('tbl_officer.usr', $usr);
}
How can I include this If condition into my model function mentioned above ? What can be changed ? Can anyone help ?
PLease use where_in
$this->datatables->where('tbl_officer.p_code', 8)->or_where('tbl_officer.p_code', 10)->or_where('tbl_officer.p_code', 24);
to
$this->datatables->where_in('tbl_officer.p_code', [8,10,24]);
Just need to change the method of query writing
public function getOfficer()
{
$usr = $this->session->userdata('id_user');
$userArray = array(8,10,24);
$this->db->select('*');
$this->db->from('tbl_officer');
if($usr == 4){
$this->db->where_in('usr',$userArray );
}else{
$this->db->where('usr',$usr);
}
$q = $this->db->get();
if ($q->num_rows() > 0) {
return $q->result();
}
return false;
}
I have a question
Let say we have this 2 tables in our database
first table : category_lists
second table: data_category
so if list_data_id is equal to 1 meaning that it has 2 data if you look at data_category table which is 6 and 7
Now what I want is to query from category_list table so that 6 and 7 will echo Car Wreckers and Cash For Cars.
This is what my code looks like:
below is my controller:
public function index($listing_name)
{
$this->load->view('layouts/head_layout_seo');
$this->load->view('layouts/head_layout');
$data['main_view'] = 'listings/main_view';
$data['listing_data'] = $this->Listing_model->get_detail_listing($listing_name);
$list_id = $data['listing_data']->list_data_id; // this is what I get list_data_id is equal to 1
$data['category_ads'] = $this->Ads_model->get_ads($list_id); // this is what you need to look
$this->load->view('layouts/main', $data);
$this->load->view('layouts/footer_layout');
}
below is my model:
public function get_ads($list_id)
{
$this->db->where('list_data_id', $list_id);
$query = $this->db->get('data_category');
$query = $query->result();
//return $query;
if (count($query) > 0) {
for ($i=0; $i < count($query); $i++) {
foreach ($query as $value) {
$this->db->where('category_lists_id', $value->category_lists_id);
$querys = $this->db->get('category_lists');
//print_r($query);
return $querys->result();
}
}
}
}
below is my view:
foreach ($category_ads as $value) {
<p><?php echo $value->categories; ?></p> }
with the code above I get only 1 data which is Car Wreckers as you can see from the table, it supposes to show 2 data Car Wreckers and Cash For Cars
Can anyone help me with this?
Thank You
Try this, in your model so no need to call DB two times and no need to loop
public function get_ads($list_id)
{
$this->db->select('cl.category_lists_id,cl.categories');
$this->db->from('category_lists cl');
$this->db->join('data_category dc','cl.category_lists_id = dc.category_lists_id');
$this->db->where('dc.list_data_id',$list_id);
$query = $this->db->get();
if($query->num_rows() > 0){
return $query->result();
}else{
return array();
}
}
Using Codeigniter 3, I would like to display all the records from a table in a MySQL database. I'd also like to include the number of records selected.
For example;
Showing x number of records;
record 1
record 2
record 3
etc
Currently I have the following (which works);
// select all records
public function selectRecords() {
$this->db->select('*');
$this->db->from('records');
$query = $this->db->get();
return $query->result_array();
}
// count all records
public function countRecords() {
$this->db->select('count(*) as count');
$this->db->from('records');
$query = $this->db->get();
return $query->row();
}
My question is do I need two separate queries in order to achieve this (select and count)?
Is there a more efficient way of achieving what I want?
You can do something like this :
public function selectRecords()
{
$query = $this->db->get('records');
if ($query->num_rows() > 0 )
{
$records = $query->result_array();
$data['count'] = count($records);
$data['all_records'] = $records;
return $data;
}
}
Pass it to the view from your controller :
$data = $this->model_name->selectRecords();
/*print_r($data) to see the output*/
$this->load->view('your_view',$data);
In view :
<?php echo $count .' number of records';?>
you can do only:
public function selectRecords() {
$this->db->select('*');
$this->db->from('records');
$query = $this->db->get();
return $query->result_array();
}
and
$records = $this->selectRecords();
$count = count($records);
In The first function itself you can get the count using $query->num_rows() function
public function selectRecords() {
$return = array();
$this->db->select('*');
$this->db->from('records');
$query = $this->db->get();
$return['count'] = $query->num_rows();
$return['records'] = $query->result_array();
return $return;
}
try this
it will help you to provide pagination for records
public function selectRecords($params = array(), $count = false) {
$offset = isset($params['offset']) ? $params['offset'] : '';
$limit = isset($params['limit']) ? $params['limit'] : '';
$this->db->select('*');
$this->db->from('records');
$query = $this->db->get();
if ($count) {
return $this->db->get()->num_rows();
}
if (empty($offset) && !empty($limit)) {
$this->db->limit($limit);
}
if (!empty($offset) && !empty($limit)) {
$this->db->limit($limit, $offset);
}
$result = $this->db->get()->result();
return $result;
}
I wanting to be able to join two tables togeather.
How ever because I my forum table has column "name" and my forum_categories column "name"
I am not able to display both names.
On my select() if I use like $this->db->select('f.name, fc.name', false); it only displays name from forum_categories
array(1) { [0]=> array(1) { ["name"]=> string(17) "News & Discussion" } }
Question how can I get both names to show from both columns and
tables.
Note: I only want to be able to use $result['name'] in my foreach loop.
So the out put I would like it to be
General
News & Discussion
Lounge
I have looked at
CodeIgniter ActiveRecord field names in JOIN statement
codeigniter - select from 2 tables with same column name
Model
public function get_forums() {
$this->db->select('f.name, fc.name', false);
$this->db->from('forum as f');
// tried $this->db->join('forum_categories as fc', 'fc.forum_id = f.forum_id');
$this->db->join('forum_categories as fc', 'fc.forum_categories_id = f.forum_id');
$query = $this->db->get();
if ($query->num_rows() > 0) {
return $query->result_array();
} else {
return false;
}
}
Controller
<?php
class Forums extends MY_Controller {
public function __construct() {
parent::__construct();
}
public function index() {
$data['label'] = '';
$data['forums'] = array();
$results = $this->get_forums();
var_dump($results);
if (isset($results)) {
foreach ($results as $result) {
$data['forums'][] = array(
'name' => $result['name'], // Only want to use single variable.
);
}
}
$data['header'] = Modules::run('admin/common/header/index');
$data['footer'] = Modules::run('admin/common/footer/index');
$this->load->view('template/forum/list_forum_view', $data);
}
public function get_forums() {
$this->db->select('f.name, fc.name', false);
$this->db->from('forum as f');
$this->db->join('forum_categories as fc', 'fc.forum_categories_id = f.forum_id');
$query = $this->db->get();
if ($query->num_rows() > 0) {
return $query->result_array();
} else {
return false;
}
}
}
update
works fine with code below but would rather just use one lot of join()
public function get_forums() {
$this->db->select("*");
$this->db->from('forum');
$query = $this->db->get();
foreach ($query->result_array() as $f) {
$data[] = array(
'name' => $f['name']
);
$this->db->select("*");
$this->db->from('forum_categories');
$query = $this->db->get();
foreach ($query->result_array() as $fc) {
$data[] = array(
'name' => $fc['name']
);
}
}
return $data;
}
Try This , It Will Work .
public function get_forums() {
$this->db->select('f.name as forum_name, fc.name as forum_categories_name', false);
$this->db->from('forum f');
// tried $this->db->join('forum_categories fc', 'fc.forum_id = f.forum_id');
$this->db->join('forum_categories fc', 'fc.forum_categories_id = f.forum_id');
$query = $this->db->get();
if ($query->num_rows() > 0) {
return $query->result_array();
} else {
return false;
}
}
From what i see in your updated question. What you need is UNION and not JOIN. You can use get_compiled_select() to build both query before concat with UNION.
public function get_forums() {
$forum = $this->db->select('name')->get_compiled_select('forum');
$forum_categories = $this->db->select('name')->get_compiled_select('forum_categories');
$query = $this->db->query($forum.' UNION '.$forum_categories);
if ($query->num_rows() > 0) {
return $query->result_array();
} else {
return false;
}
}
Simply use
AS
keyword, because when you try to print it, that AS keyword give you optional name for your column.
Here i have two table which have same column name "name" so i have changed those with AS keyword.
Ex:
$this->db->select('tbl_category.id_category,tbl_category.name AS cat_name,
tbl_subject.id_subject,tbl_subject.name AS sub_name');
In result
Array ( [0] => Array ( [id_category] => 9 [cat_name] => OL [id_subject] => 13 [sub_name] => Science )
So it is simple solution from the SQL language
I just don't want to have such a duplicate function in a model, however I need to use that function again with a little change in it.
The little change is:
In the $first->get->model, I need to pass a segment url such as 'where id = $this->uri->segment(3)',
However, in the $second->get->model, I don't have that segment url anymore but have already save it to a session.
For example: (Please have a look to this code)
function get_regidsterLogin($limit, $offset) //There is no problem with $limit and $offset
{
$this->load->database();
$this->db->select(' ds.userid,
ds.register_time,
gl.logintime
');
$this->db->from('data_stats ds');
$this->db->join('game_login gl', 'gl.data_id = ds.dataid', 'inner');
//Here is what I want to change with session that I will send from view or maybe controller
$this->db->where('DATE(register_time)', $this->uri->segment(3));
$this->db->limit($limit, $offset);
$query = $this->db->get();
if($query->num_rows() > 0)
{
foreach ($query->result() as $row)
{
$data[] = $row;
}
return $data;
}
}
Is there a simple smart way to do this?
Thanks in advance.
You could either add a third argument and specify it every time or you could just test the segment in your function and if it is not there then use the session data:
if($this->uri->segment(3) === TRUE{
$uri = $this->uri->segment(3);
} else {
$uri = $this->session->userdata('user_id') // or whatever your session variable is
}
So a full example would look something like:
(I shortened up the above statement to a ternary expression for the example)
function get_regidsterLogin($limit, $offset) //There is no problem with $limit and $offset
{
$uri = ($this->uri-sement(3) == true ? $this->uri-sement(3) : $this->session->userdata(id));
$this->load->database();
$this->db->select(' ds.userid,
ds.register_time,
gl.logintime
');
$this->db->from('data_stats ds');
$this->db->join('game_login gl', 'gl.data_id = ds.dataid', 'inner');
//Here is what I want to change with session that I will send from view or maybe controller
$this->db->where('DATE(register_time)', $uri);
$this->db->limit($limit, $offset);
$query = $this->db->get();
if($query->num_rows() > 0)
{
foreach ($query->result() as $row)
{
$data[] = $row;
}
return $data;
}
}
