I am parsing a form from another one of my sites using a php proxy. It is working fine but the form action and img src of the submit button url's are relative. How can I prepend the full http//www.domain.com/ in front of each of the url's in the form?
Edit:
Here's the form code once fed through to the new domain:
<div style="display: none;" id="SubscribeForm" class="newform">
<h5>Subscribe to our newsletter</h5>
<form action="/CampaignProcess.aspx?ListID=27057" method="post" onsubmit="return checkWholeForm93426(this)" name="catemaillistform93426">
<div class="form">
<div class="item">
<label for="CLFullName">Full Name</label>
<br />
<input type="text" maxlength="255" id="CLFullName" name="FullName" class="cat_textbox_small" style="background-color: #ffffa0;" />
</div>
<div class="item">
<label for="CLEmailAddress">Email Address</label>
<br />
<input type="text" maxlength="255" id="CLEmailAddress" name="EmailAddress" class="cat_textbox_small" style="background-color: #ffffa0;" />
</div>
<div class="item">
<label>Enter Word Verification in box below</label>
<br />
<div class="captchaimg"><img src="/captchahandler.ashx?ID=22791bf65054422cadeb4aea9390cfaa&Color=DimGray&ForeColor=White&Width=160" alt="Captcha Image" /></div>
<input id="CaptchaV2" class="cat_textbox" type="text" name="CaptchaV2" style="width:160px" />
<input id="CaptchaTV2" type="text" name="CaptchaTV2" style="display:none;" />
<input id="CaptchaHV2" type="hidden" value="22791bf65054422cadeb4aea9390cfaa" name="CaptchaHV2" />
</div>
<div class="item">
<p>We respect your privacy and will never share your details.</p>
</div>
<div class="item">
<input type="image" src="/images/submit-button-white-bg_07.gif" id="catlistbutton" value="Subscribe" class="cat_button" />
</div>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://testsite.businesscatalyst.com/CatalystScripts/ValidationFunctions.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">function checkWholeForm50598(theForm){var why = "";if (theForm.EmailAddress) why += checkEmail(theForm.EmailAddress.value);if (theForm.CaptchaV2) why += isEmpty(theForm.CaptchaV2.value, "Enter Word Verification in box below"); if (why != ""){alert(why);return false;}theForm.submit();return false;}</script>
</form>
</div>
and here's the jQuery I am using to try and change the action url:
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
$('form').each(function(index) {
var urls = $(this).attr('action');
var dom = 'http://www.sampleurl.com';
$(this).attr('action',dom+urls);
});
});
All other jQuery functions are working well on the page so I know it is not an issue with jQuery itself.
well start of reading the original url
$('img').each(function(index) {
var urls =$(this).attr('src');
var dom = 'http://domain.com';
$(this).attr('src',dom+urls);
});
that will change all the image urls
might be another way but this works just as good

I cant get the two forms to play with each other.. - meaning I have one form that sends an email - and another that is using a search function. The email form is working ok. Validates just fine, but when I click on the search button, it doesn't do anything. ( the search form is working fine if I remove the email form )
What am I missing ??.. ugh..
I've been working on this, but my brain is fried. I am sure it is something simple.
Any help from you guys would be much appreciated.
<form method="post" action="contact.php" name="contactform" id="contactform">
<div class="full-lenght">
<div class="to-left">Name<br>

<div class="human">3 + 1 = ?<br>
<input name="verify" type="text" id="verify" size="4" value="" style="width: 30px;" />
<input name="e" type="submit" class="contact-button" id="submit" value="Submit" />
</div>
</form>
<div class="search">
<form class="form" action="search_results.php" method="get">
<input name="q" type="text" class="search_field" value="Search.." onfocus="if (this.value=='Search..') this.value='';">
<a onclick=" document.forms[0].submit();return false" href="#"><img class="search_button" title="Search Button" src="images/search_button.jpg" alt="" width="24" height="24"></a> <br>
<br>
</form>
</div>
This is the code. The second form starts in search div. The first one is an email form with ajax validation.
try this,
in the second form
<form class="form" id="searchform" action="search_results.php" method="get">
<input name="q" type="text" class="search_field" value="Search.." onfocus="if (this.value=='Search..') this.value='';" />
<a onclick=" document.getElementById('searchform').submit();return false" href="#"><img class="search_button" title="Search Button" src="images/search_button.jpg" alt="" width="24" height="24"/></a> <br/>
<br/>
</form>
This doesn't have anything to do with PHP, but does have everything to do with JavaScript.
Change:
<a onclick=" document.forms[0].submit();return false" href="#">
to:
<a onclick="document.forms[1].submit();" href="#">
You're using legacy DOM notation in your JavaScript, which is OK but outdated. When you have forms[0] you're referring to the first form in the DOM which isn't the search form (the contact form is), forms[1] is the search form. Clicking the icon will fail without the change, but you could type in the box and hit enter and it will work, since the JavaScript you have won't be triggered (no click). I also see no need to keep the return false statement in there.
<form class="form" action="search_results.php" method="get">
<input name="q" type="text" class="search_field" value="Search.." onfocus="if (this.value=='Search..') this.value='';">
<input type="submit" value='Search'> <br>
<br>
This problem you used anchor tag as button form and it doesn't work for submitting form so you can either replace anchor tag with input tag "submit type" as you see in code or you can use JavaScript to make anchor tag when you click on it, it fires a submitting form.
Enjoy :)
I have a PHP script that will render three form elements for each item in a database. For example, its output could look something like this:
<!-- Entry 1 -->
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<label for="1-name"></label>
<input type="text" name="1-note" id="1-note" data-mini="true" />
</div>
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<label for="1-age"></label>
<input type="text" name="1-note" id="1-note" data-mini="true" />
</div>
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<label for="1-description"></label>
<input type="text" name="1-note" id="1-note" data-mini="true" />
</div>
...
<!-- Entry n -->
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<label for="n-name"></label>
<input type="text" name="n-note" id="n-note" data-mini="true" />
</div>
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<label for="n-age"></label>
<input type="text" name="n-note" id="n-note" data-mini="true" />
</div>
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<label for="n-description"></label>
<input type="text" name="n-note" id="n-note" data-mini="true" />
</div>
Then on the main page, I use Ajax to add that php-generated content to the page...
$(document).on('pageshow', function(){
$("#menu1").bind("change", function() {
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "includes/ajax_get_entries.php",
data: "table="+$("#menu1").val(),
success: function(html) {
$("#wrap").html(html).selectmenu('refresh', true);
}
});
});
});
... by putting the PHP content in between a wrapper:
<div data-role="fieldcontain" id="wrap"></div>
Adding it to the page works fine, but jQuery Mobile does not update the style.
How can I make it update the style?
I cannot use add the content to the site and hide if using .show() and .hide(), as I need a response from my user on which table I need to use.
You can call
$("#wrap").trigger('create');
in your success callback.

I just created a form submit without refreshing using this plugin : http://malsup.github.com/jquery.form.js
The simple example can be seen at
http://jquery.malsup.com/form/
I don't what I was doing, it was worked fine before until I modified something that I don't remember.
When I click SAVE, it should be processed on the background and it should stay on the same page. But now, it doesn't and it redirect me to the action page (process-001.php)
I created another page using the same method, and it works just fine.
Can you see if I'm doing it wrong?
Here is the form :
<div id="submit-form">
<form action="web-block/forms/process-001.php" id="select-block" class="general-form" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">
<div class="input-wrap">
<input class="clearme" name="Headline" value="<?php echo $Headline;?>" id="headline"/>
</div>
<div class="input-wrap">
<textarea class="clearme" name="Sub-Headline" id="subheadline"><?php echo $SubHeadline ;?></textarea>
</div>
<label>Bottom Left Image</label>
<div class="up-mask">
<span class="file-wrapper">
<input type="file" name="Pics" class="photo" id="pics" />
<span class="button">
<span class="default-txt">Upload Photo</span>
</span>
</span>
</div><!-- .up-mask -->
<input type="hidden" name="Key" id="Key" value="<?php echo $Key;?>"/>
<input type="submit" class="submit-btn" value="SAVE" />
<span class="save-notice">Your changed has been saved!</span>
</form>
</div>
The Javascript :
<script>
// wait for the DOM to be loaded
$(document).ready(function() {
// bind 'myForm' and provide a simple callback function
$('#select-block').ajaxForm(function() {
alert("Thank you for your comment!");
});
});
</script>
Don´t know if my english is sufficient to explain this right:
I have made a Form that is needs 4 or 5 pages until final submit comes.
On every change the Post is added to the new page as a hidden field and a new script is called.
<form method="post" action="form4.php">
My problem is i dont want the browser to show the url to the new script and ideally keep it at the origin url.
I dont know the right terms to search on google or here for a solution. Maybe you can give me a hint how to accomplish this?
Another option is to handle the form by the same script in stages.
<form action="formhandler.php" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="form_stage" value="1" />
....
</form>
and within the formhandler.php:
switch($_POST['form_stage']) {
case 5:
// handle the stage 5 stuff here
break;
case 4:
// handle stage 4 stuff here, output form for stage 5
break;
case 3:
// handle stage 3 stuff here, output form for stage 4
break;
case 2:
// ditto
break;
case 1:
default:
// display initial form here
}
Of course, you don't have to use a switch for this. A long sequence of if/else if works just as well, it comes down to personal preference/code complexity. But this basic workflow allows you to keep the same url and still display multiple different forms without having to resort to AJAX/javascript.
If the action of the form is form4.php, then you can't change which URL the form posts to. However, you can do a redirect immediately after processing the data of the post to the URL you want the user to be at.
Alternately, you can change your form actions so they all post to the same page and just allow for multiple types of posting in your PHP.
You can use Ajax and pass data from form to php script and than load new form. Or you can pass argument(hidden or not) to file:
<form action="form.php?p=1" method="post">
...
</form>
Hidden parameter:
<form action="form.php" method="post">
<input type="hidden" value="4" name="p">
...
</form>
Depending on p value you load proper form and do things with rest of data.
Load your php site inside an iframe within some page.. The url of this page will always remain.
think i found another solution and want to share it:
the solution with the switch and the solution with ajax made me think about how to solve this easier. why not make the form on one page and hide the different parts. what waas before a button to submit the part is now a button to hide previous part and show next.
<script type="text/javascript">
window.addEvent('domready', function()
{
$$('.blau').set('text', 'Erkennen Sie die Heilpflanze?');
$('page_2').slide('hide');
$('page_3').slide('hide');
$('page_4').slide('hide');
$('page_5').slide('hide');
var togglePrefix = 'toggle_', boxPrefix = 'page_', emptyPrefix = '';
$$('.submit_box a').addEvent('click', function(e)
{
e.stop();
var id = $(this.get('id').replace(togglePrefix,emptyPrefix));
var id_new = parseInt($(this).get('id').replace(togglePrefix, emptyPrefix)) + 1;
var next = ('page_'+id_new);
var id_old = $(this.get('id').replace(togglePrefix,boxPrefix));
$(id_old).set('slide', {duration: 'long', transition: 'linear'});
$(id_old).slide('out');
$(next).slide('in');
if (next == 'page_1')
{
}
if (next == 'page_2')
{
}
if (next == 'page_3')
{
}
if (next == 'page_4')
{
$$('.blau').set('text', '....und die letzte ist?');

UGH.
Hi.
I have a form. I'd like to know how/if I could submit this form to an iFrame that has the page that will handle the file upload/naming.
If I try even something simple like post an input/text to the form, nothing happens (the handler is set to echo the $_POST). I have tried setting the iframe name/id et. al. and setting the form target to the respective iframe name/id. When I hit submit, the iframe just sits there like a dummy. WTF am I doing wrong?
Thx.

I don't know why it is putting the </form> tag where it is.. It is supposed to be after the iframe, but whatever. Does that even matter? Is the iframe supposed to be inside the form?
Nice, I was wrong.. I found the problem.
First use html for write html;
With the code below works:
for 'testSubmitiFrame.html':
<form target="transFrame" method="POST" class="EditName" id="reportEdit" action="testSubmitiFrame.php">
<div class="content" id="overDivContent">
<div class="inputDivContainer">
<fieldset class="inputOverDiv" id="tfa_Names">

</div>
<div class="inputDiv">

</div>
</fieldset>
</div>
</div>
</form>
<iframe style="" name="transFrame" id="transFrame">tyh</iframe>
for 'testSubmitiFrame.php':
<?php
var_dump($_POST);
?>
Your problem is html syntax. This works.
Apparently, a div or stupid fieldset tag being out of place was preventing the thing from working. I really gotta start checking my code before bothering you nice people.
Thanks anyway.
Your logic appears valid, can you setup a test page?
This page will do what you want, so you may want to look through it and see what may be different from what you are already doing:
http://www.anyexample.com/programming/php/php_ajax_example__asynchronous_file_upload.xml
Is the action in the html the php file that will do the processing?
I think it's because of these two lines:
echo "</div>";
echo "</div><br>
You're closing <div> with no opening tags. This is making Firefox close the <form> early - your submit button isn't inside your form, which is why it's not working.
The position of the iframe inside or outside the form doesn't matter - just make sure the rest of the HTML is valid and it should work.
