I am trying to dynamically send text messages using a PHP script. PHP code:
$headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";
$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8' . "\r\n";
$textbody=<<<_MESSAGE_
Some text
_MESSAGE_;
mail('myphonenumber#SMSgateway','subject',$textbody,$headers);
I did receive a text message, but it is a "photo message" or rather multimedia instead of text and I am unable to open the message. I have tried playing around with the encoding and $textbody="this text"; instead of *MESSAGE*.
a) How can I send a normal text message (not multimedia)?
b) Why can't I open it?
c) Is there a way for people to respond to the texts I send with text? When I sent myself a text from hotmail I was able to reply and I got the answer in my inbox. When I tried to put $header.= 'From: me <me#somedomain.com>' . "\r\n"; the email wouldn't send
(reason: 553 sorry, your mail was
administratively denied. (#5.7.1))
Thanks!
$sendTo = "test#test.com";
$subject = trim($_POST['subj']);
$headers = "From: ".$_POST['name']."<" . trim($_POST["email"]) .">\r\n";
$headers .= "Reply-To: " . trim($_POST["email"]) . "\r\n";
$headers .= "Return-path: " . trim($_POST["email"]);
$headers .= "\r\n";
$headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8\r\n";
$message = strip_tags($_POST["messg"]);
if (#mail($sendTo, $subject, $message, $headers))
{ echo "sent successfully"; }
else
{ echo "Error ... Plz try again later" ; }
This code which I'm using to send emails

I want to convert the link to the button in PHP mail.php file.
$message = sprintf($this->language->get('mail_message'), $store_name, $link);
I will appreciate if someone helps me to convert the link to the button.
To achieve this, you have to send html email instead of plain/text email. It is pretty simple, leave the images on the server and send the PHP + CSS to them...
$to = 'xyz#example.com';
$subject = 'Subject';
$headers = "From: " . strip_tags($_POST['req-email']) . "\r\n";
$headers .= "Reply-To: ". strip_tags($_POST['req-email']) . "\r\n";
$headers .= "CC: abc#example.com\r\n";
$headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8\r\n";
$message = '<p>Anchor Text</p>';
mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers);
I have a php script that is only sending mail when the user registration.
I put in something along the lines of:
$to ='testmail#gmail.com';
$message = 'Hello';
$headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";
$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n";
$headers .= "From: Website <admin#example.com>\r\n";
if($results= mail($to, 'User Registration', 'Test', $headers)) {
echo 'success';
} else {
echo 'fail';
}
But the email doesn't send on server. When i put the following line :
$headers .= "From: Website <admin#example.com>\r\n";
Why is this happening?
Have you looked at the answer to smtp configuration for php mail it's very similar a question to yours?

i want to send a mail the code is given below. i cant understand waht is happening . It works on localhost but not on live server.
if (isset($_POST['test_mail'])){
$to = '2606ankit#gmail.com'; //put email address on which mail send
$subject = "Newsletter"; //Put subject of mail here
$from = 'ankit#studiokrew.com'; //put email address from
//email body start
// $body .= file_get_contents('file/'.$filename.'');
$body .= 'anio';
// Always set content-type when sending HTML email
$headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0" . "\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-type:text/html;charset=iso-8859-1" . "\r\n";
// More headers
$headers .= 'From: '.$from. "\r\n";
//if you need to send cc mail then uncomment below line and change email address
//$headers .= 'Cc: myboss#example.com' . "\r\n";
mail($to,$subject,$body,$headers);
}
try this..
<?php if (isset($_POST['test_mail'])){
$host=$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'];
$replyto="<no-reply >";
$to ='2606ankit#gmail.com';
$subject = "Newsletter";
$from = 'ankit#studiokrew.com';
$headers = "From: \"Invoice\"<noreply#$host>\n";
$headers .= "Reply-To: ".$replyto."\r\n";
$headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary=\"abc"\"\r\n\r\n";
$headers .= 'From: '.$from. "\r\n";
$header .= "Content-Type:text/html; charset=\"iso-8859-1\"\n";
$body = "This is a multi-part message in MIME format.\r\n";
$body .= "Content-type:text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n";
$body .= "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit\r\n\r\n";
$body .= 'anio';
mail($to,$subject,$body,$headers);
}
?>
check the MTA logs on your server.also web server logs the answer will be there somewhere.
Test with a simple mail() script that does not require any external data, just to make sure that your server indeed can send mail. If that fails, you'd have to contact the server admins for help.
When I added "a href tag " in the mail body the mail is not sent.
If I remove this 'a href and www' tag, the mail sends and all other content display as per my requirement.
I don't know where is the exact problem, I'm using GoDaddy hosting with PHP 5.3 version.
If anyone has a better solutions please share with me .
<?php
// multiple recipients
$to = 'ali.dzinemedia#gmail.com';
// subject
$subject = 'Birthday Reminders for August';
// message
$message = '<a href=www.google.com>Click here</a>';
// To send HTML `enter code here`mail, the Content-type header must be set
$headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";
// Additional headers
$headers .= 'To: Mary <ali.dzinemedia#gmail.com>' . "\r\n";
$headers .= 'From: Birthday Reminder <ali.dzinemedia#gmail.com>' . "\r\n";
$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n";
$headers .= 'X-Mailer: PHP/' . phpversion();
echo "To : ".$to;
// Mail it
mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers);
Use this as the header:
$header = "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$header .= "Content-type: text/html; charset: utf8\r\n";
that's if you want to use HTML in the body, but you have to create well formatted HTML, you know with all of its tags: html, head, body, and close them all.
<html>
<head></head>
<body>Content here and this is a link</body>
</html>
I had the same problem once, turned out my spam filter blocked the mail when a link was in it and let it trough when I removed the link.
Took me some time to notice that
iam sending html message contains table
when i recive message on gmail,hotmail,yahoo account it works fine but when receiving on other client
ie Microsoft outlook it resolve it as html code !!
here is my email headers
'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n" .
'Content-Type: text/html;charset= UTF-8' . "\r\n" .
'From: me <me#client.com>'
I Always use this function ,and it helps
function sendHTMLemail($HTML,$from,$to,$subject,$fromname)
{
$headers = "From: ".$fromname." <".$from.">\r\n";
$headers.= "Reply-To: ".$fromname." <".$from.">\r\n";
$headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$boundary = uniqid("HTMLEMAIL");
// First we be nice and send a non-html version of our email
$headers .= "Content-Type: multipart/alternative;".
"boundary = $boundary\r\n\r\n";
$headers .= "This is a MIME encoded message.\r\n\r\n";
$headers .= "--$boundary\r\n".
"Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1\r\n".
"Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64\r\n\r\n";
$headers .= chunk_split(base64_encode(strip_tags($HTML)));
// Now we attach the HTML version
$headers .= "--$boundary\r\n".
"Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1\r\n".
"Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64\r\n\r\n";
$headers .= chunk_split(base64_encode($HTML));
// And then send the email ....
mail($to,$subject,"",$headers);
}
I know this isn't an answer for your question, but I suggest using a mailing library, that will allow you to send mails much more easily, and supports features such as attachments, authentication, etc.
I recommend SwiftMailer which works great, is simple and well documented.
