Converting telephone numbers into "tel:" hyperlinks with regular expression replacement - php

I have the following being extracted from a database:
Switchboard:265-7404-6,Marketing Hotline: 265-7403, B'ce: 333-6848
I want to convert it to something like this in PHP:
In the event of extension as: 265-7404-6 it only parses: 265-7404
function printdir()
{
$mysqli = new mysqli(constant("host"),constant("username"),constant("password"), constant("database"));
$storedProc = "SELECT * FROM `directory`;";
$result = $mysqli->query($storedProc);
if($mysqli->affected_rows>0)
{
while( $row = $result->fetch_assoc()) {
echo $row['telephone']; /*Formatting here*/
}
}
}

$telnumber = explode('-', $row['telephone'], 3));
echo $telnumber[0].'-'.$telnumber[1];
The extension and anything after the second value will be in $telnumber[2]

<?php
function format_number($phone){
$phone = preg_replace("#[^\d{10}\s]#",'',$phone);
if(strlen($phone)==7)
{
$area = substr($phone,0,3);
$prefix = substr($phone,3,4);
$format = $area."-".$prefix;
$phone = "$format";
return($phone);
}
if(strlen($phone) != 10) return(False);
$area = substr($phone,0,3);
$prefix = substr($phone,3,3);
$number = substr($phone,6,4);
$format = $area."-".$prefix."-".$number;
$phone = "$format";
return($phone);
}
function telephoneText($string)
{
$format_one.= '\d{10}'; //5085551234
$format_two_and_three .= '\d{3}(\.|\-)\d{3}\2\d{4}'; //508.555.1234 or 508-555-1234
$format_four .= '\(\d{3}\)\-\d{3}\-\d{4}'; //(508)-555-1234
$format_five .='\d{3}\-\d{4}'; //(508)555-1234
$format_five_seven .='\d{7}';
$string = preg_replace("~({$format_one}|{$format_two_and_three}|{$format_four}|{$format_five}|{$format_five_seven})~e", 'format_number("$1")', $string);
return $string;
}
?>
Thats is the what i was trying to achieve. Thanks guys..

Using an If statement in PHP but not working

What I want to do is When I enter all my information (for client ID 199 in the picture) In my account being submit it, it goes into the database. BUT I want it to change to something and so i added an if statement
Here the code im adding to the existing code already at the BOTTOM of the code
if ($vpr_clid == 199) {
$vpr_cl_name = "Shelley Madsen And Associates";
}
if the ($vpr_clid = 199)
i want the clname to be "Shelley Madsen And Associates" then what is show in the table below instead of "Nice and White Smiles" (that an example of the results look like)
but when i chcek the database it not changing it and still show "Nice and White Smiles :(
I dont see any error, so it might be the placement of the code i have to put the IF statement in the huge php file? Dont know how to fix this issue
Thanks (the code below is the base code before i added the If statement)
I also insert the if statement before the function were called but still didnt work example
if ($vpr_clid == 199) {
$vpr_cl_name = "Shelley Madsen And Associates";
}

okay referencing the following lines..
if ( $vpr_clid == 199 ) {
$vpr_cl_name = "Shelley Madsen And Associates";
}
$result = InsertIntoPayReminder($link, $vars);
...and then:
function InsertIntoPayReminder($link, &$vars) {
$vars->vpr_cl_name = strtr($vars->vpr_cl_name, "'", " ");
so on and so forth... }
it doesnt seem as if you are actually setting the value of the class object. You seem to be setting some arbitrary php variable to the name you want, and then passing a totally different ' $vars ' object into the function. I don't see any reason to believe that the ' $vars ' you are passing into the function call contains the name value you want it to contain. You should be assigning the value of ' $vars ' before passing it in.
For instance:
if ( $vpr_clid == 199 ) {
$vars[ 'vpr_cl_name' ] = "Shelley Madsen And Associates";
}
then you can get rid of this line all together:
$vars->vpr_cl_name = strtr($vars->vpr_cl_name, "'", " ");

getting error to display all record in php json

I am trying to display all records using jason in php.
but display all filed with null value.
I'm using postman for testing purpose.
I don't know what is the problem with that code. I getting null value only.
here is my code :
<?php
header('Content-Type: application/json');
$checkFields = "";
$REQUEST = $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'];
if ($REQUEST == "POST")
{
include "DB/db.php";
$userlist = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM reg_services");
if(mysql_num_rows($userlist) > 0)
{
$p = 0;
$ph = array();
while($userlistdata = mysql_fetch_row($userlist))
{
$ph[$p]["UserId"] = $userlistdata['id'];
$ph[$p]["FirstName"] = $userlistdata['fname'];
$ph[$p]["LastName"] = $userlistdata['lname'];
$ph[$p]["Email"] = $userlistdata['email'];
$ph[$p]["Mobile"] = $userlistdata['mobile'];
$ph[$p]["Password"] = $userlistdata['password'];
$p++;
}
$json = array("success" => 1, "All_User_List" => $ph);
$jsonarray = json_encode($json);
}
}
else
{
$json = array("success" => 0, "message" => "Invalid Request Type(Use POST Method)");
$jsonarray = json_encode($json);
}
echo $jsonarray;
?>
please help me if you are know what is the error in code.
just replace this code with old one
$p = 0;
$ph = array();
while($userlistdata = mysql_fetch_array($userlist))
{
$ph[$p] = array();
$ph[$p]["UserId"] = $userlistdata['id'];
$ph[$p]["FirstName"] = $userlistdata['fname'];
$ph[$p]["LastName"] = $userlistdata['lname'];
$ph[$p]["Email"] = $userlistdata['email'];
$ph[$p]["Mobile"] = $userlistdata['mobile'];
$ph[$p]["Password"] = $userlistdata['password'];
$p++;
}
You need to tell PHP about arrays
while($userlistdata = mysql_fetch_row($userlist))
{
$ph[$p] = array(); // let PHP know it is an array
$ph[$p]["UserId"] = $userlistdata['id'];
$ph[$p]["FirstName"] = $userlistdata['fname'];
$ph[$p]["LastName"] = $userlistdata['lname'];
$ph[$p]["Email"] = $userlistdata['email'];
$ph[$p]["Mobile"] = $userlistdata['mobile'];
$ph[$p]["Password"] = $userlistdata['password'];
$p++;
}
just replace this while loop condition with olde one.
while($userlistdata = mysql_fetch_array($userlist))
now it's work

HTML - String containing color codes to color

I'm currently facing a problem here, I have many different strings like these:
"he#00ff00llo"
"#cc9200test"
And so on.
I'm outputting this on an HTML page (Grabbing it through my database)
Anyways, what I want to achieve is to read those #00ff00 and output it as the color itself.
EDIT:
these are usernames, and most of the time they go like this: #ff0000#SomeName | Which I then want to turn into #SomeName oh and the there are usernames with several colorcodes.
EDIT:
My friend gave me this code which solved my problem. :)
IT WAS SOLVED IN PHP
ALSO THE CODE BELOW (Posted by Oriol) IS WORKING! :)
THIS CODE WORKS(PHP):
<?php
function colorCodesRenderProperly($name)
{
$name = htmlspecialchars($name);
if(preg_match('/^(#[0-9a-fA-F]{6})+$/', $name) === 1)
{
return $name;
}
preg_match_all('/#[0-9a-fA-F]{6}/', $name, $codes);
$replaced = array();
$codes_original = $codes;
$i = 0;
$count = 1;
foreach($codes[0] as &$code)
{
if(in_array($codes_original[0][$i], $replaced))
{
continue;
}
$code = sprintf('%02s', dechex((hexdec($code[1].$code[2])/255*128)))
.sprintf('%02s', dechex((hexdec($code[3].$code[4])/255*128)))
.sprintf('%02s', dechex((hexdec($code[5].$code[6])/255*128)));
$name = str_replace($codes_original[0][$i], "", $name, $count);
$replaced[] = $codes_original[0][$i];
$i++;
$count = 1;
}
while($i > 0)
{
$name .= "";
$i--;
}
return $name;
}
?>
Try this:
var txt = document.createTextNode("he#00ff00llo"),
wrapper = document.createElement('span'),
regExp = /#[\da-f]{6}/i,
pos;
wrapper.appendChild(txt);
while(~(pos = txt.nodeValue.search(regExp))) {
txt = txt.splitText(pos);
var span = wrapper.cloneNode(false);
span.style.color = txt.nodeValue.substr(0,7);
txt.nodeValue = txt.nodeValue.substr(7);
span.appendChild(txt);
wrapper.appendChild(span);
}
// append wrapper to the DOM

PHP concated string is blank at the end

I am trying to concatenate a string in a loop and when its is over the string is blank (or whatever value it was before). I am not exactly sure what is happening but I can't seem to find a similar issue.
$toItem = "";
$recpItem = "";
if(is_array($to))
{
foreach($to as $key=>$email)
{
$recpItem = $recpItem.'
<recip dn="'.$email.'" sa="'.$email.'" ra="'.$email.'" al="" rt="SMTP" id="" ao="3" rf="0" ei="0" uri=""/>
';
$email = htmlentities($email);
$toItem = $toItem.'
<Rcp DN="'.$email.'" EM="'.$email.'" RT="SMTP" AO="3"/>
';
}
}
I would add the code to an array then implode() it:
$to = array(
'bob#gmail.com',
'sally#gmail.com'
);
if(is_array($to)){
$recpItem = array();
$toItem = array();
foreach($to as $email){
$recpItem[] = '
<recip dn="'.$email.'" sa="'.$email.'" ra="'.$email.'" al="" rt="SMTP" id="" ao="3" rf="0" ei="0" uri=""/>
';
$email = htmlentities($email);
$toItem[] = '
<Rcp DN="'.$email.'" EM="'.$email.'" RT="SMTP" AO="3"/>
';
}
$recpHtml = implode($recpItem);
$toHtml = implode($toItem);
echo $recpHtml;
echo '
';
echo $toHtml;
}

PHP $_POST Validation

Is there a quick and easy way to check if any of my $_POST data has the same value?
I need it as a conditional statement...
Example:
$week1 = $_POST['Week_1'];
$week2 = $_POST['Week_2'];
$week3 = $_POST['Week_3'];
$week4 = $_POST['Week_4'];
$week5 = $_POST['Week_5'];
$week6 = $_POST['Week_6'];
$week7 = $_POST['Week_7'];
$week8 = $_POST['Week_8'];
$week9 = $_POST['Week_9'];
$week10 = $_POST['Week_10'];
$week11 = $_POST['Week_11'];
$week12 = $_POST['Week_12'];
$week13 = $_POST['Week_13'];
$week14 = $_POST['Week_14'];
$week15 = $_POST['Week_15'];
$week16 = $_POST['Week_16'];
$week17 = $_POST['Week_17'];
If the values of any of the weeks = equal the value of any of the other weeks, error...
Is there a quick way to do this in PHP?
Thanks!
Chris
first though to pop in to my head:
$r=array_unique(array($week1, ...));
if (count($r) !=17){
//error
}
If the only $_POST values you have are 'Week_1' through 'Week_17' then
if (count(array_unique($_POST)) === count($_POST)) {
//all unique values, do stuff...
}
Just loop through the pairs and compare them:
$weeks=array();
foreach(range(1,17) as $i)
{
array_push($weeks,'Week_' . $i);
}
foreach(range(1,16) as $i)
{
foreach(range($i+1,17) as $j)
{
if($_POST[$weeks[$i]]==$_POST[$weeks[$j]])
{
die("Rut-roh!");
{
}
}
}
