Curious on how safe can your PHP source code be from the servers you put them on. Would a hosting company steal or do anything with your code that you would not want them to do?
Could? Yes. Would? Not unless they're owned by the Russian Mafia. Use a reputable hosting provider.
It depends on your hosting company's terms of service, and also the kind of service for which you are paying.
If you're in a shared hosting environment, chances are the hosting company will reserve the right to look at your code, in case it's causing performance issues for other customers.
If you're paying for a dedicated server, your host probably doesn't care what you do on there (unless you get them RBL'ed) and wouldn't even bother taking the time to look at your code.

I finished my two first websites (one static and the other is dynamic) ,now I have to publish them on the internet,I dont know the process, should I have a domain for both of them?
I will add the static website as a link in existant website, i have been told that a static website don't need a domain!
I have serached into the internet to learn how to publish them:
http://www.wikihow.com/Publish-a-Web-Site-on-Your-Own-Domain
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8DlIvat7m4&list=PL0B2E90AFC0367264&index=1
I have used :wampserver,html,php
You need:
A domain name e.g. example.com, NameCheap ain't too shabby
PHP Hosting - somewhere for your site to live, and where your domain name will point to
FTP software, to upload all your files to the server you purchase, theres a multitude of free software out there for this - FileZilla is an excellent choice
Have a look around for each of these, to start with you'll probably want shared hosting - the most affordable and usually easiest to set up. And if you have problems with an specific area, then have a Google, because someone will likely have already experienced the same.
Check out Tizag for a great guide on hosts and loads more info.

I have a website that I am building that is coded in PHP and I use MySQL for the database, I am also using node.js for most everything, so my website cannot exist without it for the most part.
I have been with a small company (One that a friend of mine started up) and they have given me cheap VPS hosting, and they even setup everything on the server that I needed done (because I have no clue how to set up a server myself) I currently pay $15 per month for hosting, and would not want to pay anymore than that at this time. (As my website is still in development, so it's just for my own personal usage and sharing among some friends for testing and such).
I need a relatively cheap hosting provider that gives me basically 100% control of the server (as I have many needs that usually are not part of packages), and I would also like to be able to have them (or someone) set up the server for me.
why not just sign up amazon ec2 free for one year Here

Can anyone suggest me some free webservers, where i can upload my site and test it. My current one is giving me and error, that actually should not happen. And maybe it works with another server.
I've found izfree to be pretty good when I've needed quick hosting in a pinch. I wouldn't recommend it for anything in production though as its uptime isn't as good as it could be.
EDIT: Although looking at it, it may not even be maintained anymore. I last used it in 2009...
Simply set up a local server with programs like xampp. You can download it here: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
Much faster, agile and more convenient than testing on actual servers.

I currently deploy my sites on shared hosting, it's cheap and has control panels and help etc.
I've been looking at a VPS server and understand I will have full control etc etc.
Is it easy to make a switch to VPS - do I need to install everything from scratch eg mysql, php, control panel etc. I'm a bit worried about that sort of thing.
ONe of my main reasons for changing is that I want to dip into zend and other frameworks. ON my current shared host (hostpapa) I can change the php.ini settings. Is VPS a step to far?
My sites are not over intensive
Ta
If it's a managed VPS then you don't have to worry about the installation, but if it is unmanaged then you would have to worry on alot of thing, not only security but also optimization. If you're not consuming the whole b/w of your account and you don't really that much of freedom then you sure can stay in your shared host.

I was looking for a good mysql and php hosting service that allows more then 1GB MySQL databases for a cheap price and great service. can some one give some suggestions
Go for a VPS. They don't limit on MySQL. You can have the database as large as your assigned disk space. Following are awesome and cheap VPS providers:
Virpus
VPSLatch
Try finding coupon codes and you will save around 30% in this holiday season :). Both accept PayPal.
I highly recommend totalchoicehosting.com. I've had multi-gig databases on their shared hosting before, but I'm guessing you want dedicated. Either way, I have used them for 6 years, and they are quite reliable and cheap.
