Do you know an open source Mysql Query Builder made in PHP please ?
Like "Query Builder for MySQL by dbForge "?
http://www.devart.com/dbforge/mysql/querybuilder/benefits.html

MySQL Query Builder
MySQL Workbench
These are just two.

Try using SQLyog's powerful Query Builder. Although SQLyog is not in PHP, but it is really easy and intuitive to use.

i think that the query builder is a php code that simplifies the writing of sql queries like this https://github.com/lytc/mysql-query-builder/tree/master/library/Qb
for light websites it's useless to use an ORM so a query builder should do it , or even a DBAL ,
it helps a lot with manipulating the data when retrieved and inserting data to the data Base .

The best one I found is QueryBuilder

Last year I was working on a project concerning the creation of R-graphics. I remember that, during my research then, I came across something to visualize interactive R-graphics on a webpage. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name.
Does anyone know a good package/... to achieve this? I would like to get data from a database, use this data to generate a plot using R, and then visualize the plot on a webpage.
There are two ways of doing this. You could either use an direct method or an indirect method. For the indirect method you generate the javascript in your R script and pas it on to PHP (which is a lot of work but gives really nice graphs):
direct method
Knitr - compatible with R-studio
GridSVG
Shiny - compatible with R-studio
Indirect
Highcharts
D3.js
Rickshaw
Personally I'm most excited about epivizr which makes use of D3.js

Hi I want to learn Magento, I am doing PHP for almost 2 years learn CMS and framework. Now want to learn Magento but I do not found any solid source to understand functionality and DB structure of magento. If any one can give me some books name or good article that will be very helpful thanks..
The best way to learn Magento is to solve issues as you go along. Maybe a good place to start is this:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/knowledge-base.
Also the guys at siteground did a nice thing with this: http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/magento/
Other than this, maybe you should actually start working on a task and when you hit a brick wall (this should happen very fast), just see how other people solved the issues.
As for database structure, maybe you should read about the EAV paradigm. This is how the products, categories and customers are stored in the DB.
If you insist on a database structure here it is...but good luck with that.

How can I generate graphs and charts from a mysql database using php?
I'm trying to use "chart director" but I can't even install it properly, because I'm using php version 5.3, and it's using a deprecated function dl.
Do you know of any alternatives that:
fully support php 5.3
are easy to use for beginners
can access the mysql database and chart its data
You can use JPGraph and Graphpite
http://jpgraph.net/
http://graphpite.sourceforge.net/
I use highcharts. They are very interactive (and very fancy I might add). You do have to get a little creative to access data from MySQL database, but if you have a general understanding of JavaScript and PHP, you should have no problems.
I use Google Chart Tools https://developers.google.com/chart/ It's well documented and the charts look great. Being javascript, you can feed it json data via ajax.
http://pchart.sourceforge.net/ looks very good and it's free.

Is there a tool that can transform a static SQL string into valid Drupal db query code? [closed]

I am wondering if there is some tool available, that will take as input a SQL command, and as output will return valid Drupal code that can be used in the Drupal Api?
EDIT
The idea is I have large, 25 lines of SQL commands ready to be used on the database. And they are somehow complicated, so I am wondering how could I rewrite them with a tool to use the object members on the db_query to do the same stuff as my large SQL command line.
i assume there's no such tools.
Just read:
sql coding conventions
http://drupal.org/writing-secure-code
This might save some time, depending on what you are trying to do with SQL.
http://drupal.org/project/views
Plain 'ol non-Drupal SQL will still work in db_query ... it's just not a best practice since the database API can't retool the SQL to work in any supported environment, and doesn't take advantage of Drupal's SQL injection protections, among other things.
But it still works.
If you're going to use the SQL in a known environment (e.g. a system where these commands are already in use), I'd say just use them as they are for now and gradually convert them over to Drupal standards as new code is developed.
(Of course, if this code is meant to be distributed to other environments, you'll want to put in sweat equity and convert the strings, or write a tool to do so)

i've found one cheat sheet for doctrine: cheat sheet
but it doesn't list all methods for Doctrine_Record, Doctrine_Core, Doctrine_Query etc.
i wonder if there is a such reference?
Would be very helpful.
I don't think so, 'cause such cheat sheets should contain only the most popular, useful methods and informations. But Doctrine's API is documented, so why don't you use official Doctrine API Documentation.
I find myself using the source itself as documentation when I need it. It's quite readable. Alternatively use something like http://www.phpdoc.org/ to make it more so.
