php cutting multidimensional array - php

Anyone can help me with a function or point me into the direction on cutting a multidimensional array?
Here is what I need:
$array[x][y][b][q][o][p];
$array[b][c][f][q][l][v];
$newArray = cut_array_depth($array, 2);
// Would return a new array with a maximum dimension of 2 elements
// all others would be left out
$newArray[][];

I would like to avoid eval()
I'm not successful with variable variable ($$)
so I'm trying to develop a function fun with such interface:

There are a number of ways to achieve this, but here is one which uses PHP's ability to have N arguments passed to a function. This gives you the flexibility of creating an array with a depth of 3, or 2, or 7 or whatever.
// pass $value as first param -- params 2 - N define the multi array
function MakeMultiArray()

$output = array();
if (count($args) == 1)
$output[] = $args[0]; // just the value
else if (count($args) > 1)

$output = $args[0];

Here's how it would work:
$array = MakeMultiArray('value', 'k1', 'k2', 'k3');

PHP Multidimensional Array push and loop

I'm having some trouble understanding the coding in PHP, when it comes to multidimensional arrays and how to push.
The idea is to push a "Attribute" and a "Attribute value"
I have tried the formula below

It sounds like you are wanting an "associative" array and not necessarily a multi-dimensional array. For associative arrays you don't use array_push. Just do this:
$array[$strAtt] = $strVal;
Then to loop the array just do this:
foreach ($array as $key => $value) {
echo "$key = $value\n";
}
Go through array in php , you will understand how array works in php.
Besides if you want to add an element to a multidimensional array you can achieve like this :
$node = array ("key1"=> array (a,b) , "key2"=> array (c,d));
$array = array();
foreach ($node as $key=>$value) {
$array [$key] = $value;
}
This will be the resulting $array after the loop :
array (
"key1"=> array (
a,b
) ,
"key2"=>
array (c,d)
)

how to correlate values?

I have 10 sets of 3 values. At each point, I will only know 1 of the values and need to retrieve the other 2 values. For example, I know what id_a2 is, how do I use that to get id_a1 and id_a3?
id_a1, id_a2, id_a3
id_b1, id_b2, id_b3
id_c1, id_c2, id_c3...
Store it in a multi-dimentional array, then loop through it:

ordering categories with php arrays

I have an array of categories:
categories = computers, entertainment, products, graphics cards
The array is sometimes returned in the wrong order BUT each category has a parent which exists in the SAME array.
categories =
products[parent=0],
entertainment[parent=products],
computers[parent=entertainment],
graphics cards[parent=computers]
How would I use php to sort this array if it was returned in any order?
Unordered Example:
categories =
computers[parent=entertainment],
entertainment[parent=products],
products[parent=0],
graphics cards[parent=computers]
Must produce:
categories = products, entertainment, computers, graphics cards
