Using WAMP: Read file permissions on Windows - php

my system : windos xp
I have given all the permission to all user for file.
but i can not read file but I get filesize,
why this thing happen, reason i can not identify.
what should i do to over come this problem.
Code
$fileName = "1.php";
if (floatval(phpversion()) >= 4.3) {
//loading data
$fileData = file_get_contents($fileName);
print(filesize($fileName));
} else {
//if file not exist then return -3
if (!file_exists($fileName)) {
eturn -3;
}
$fp = fopen($fileName, 'r');
// if file is not open in read mode then return -2
if (!$fp) return -2;
$fileData = '';
print(filesize($fileName));
//checking end of file
while(!feof($fp))
$fileData .= fgetc($fileName);
fclose($fp);
}
echo $fileData;

Your problems are:
eturn should say return - this is probably a parse error
The actual problem is that you are calling fgetc($fileName) when it should be fgetc($fp). You are passing the string of the filename to fgetc() instead of the file pointer your created.
Change:
$fileData .= fgetc($fileName);
To
$filedata .= fgetc($fp);

how to identified zip error

When I tried to extract a zip file downloaded, it does'nt work. How to identifed the error ?
the response is failed;
Thank you.
File location
//home/www/boutique/includes/ClicShopping/Work/IceCat/daily.index.xml.gz
public function ExtractZip() {
if (is_file($this->selectFile())) {
$zip = new \ZipArchive;
if ($zip->open($this->selectFile()) === true) {
$zip->extractTo($this->IceCatDirectory);
$zip->close();
echo 'file downloaded an unzipped';
}
} else {
echo 'error no file found in ' . $this->selectFile();
}
}
Follow to comment, there the correct function
public function ExtractGzip() {
// Raising this value may increase performance
$buffer_size = 4096; // read 4kb at a time
$out_file_name = str_replace('.gz', '', $this->selectFile());
// Open our files (in binary mode)
$file = gzopen($this->selectFile(), 'rb');
$out_file = fopen($out_file_name, 'wb');
// Keep repeating until the end of the input file
while(!gzeof($file)) {
// Read buffer-size bytes
// Both fwrite and gzread and binary-safe
fwrite($out_file, gzread($file, $buffer_size));
}
// Files are done, close files
fclose($out_file);
gzclose($file);
}

Write and read from the same file- PHP

I am trying to write to a file and then read the data from the same file. But sometimes I am facing this issue that the file reading process is getting started even before the file writing gets finished. How can I solve this issue ? How can i make file writing process finish before moving ahead?
// writing to file
$string= <12 kb of specific data which i need>;
$filename.="/ttc/";
$filename.="datasave.html";
if($fp = fopen($filename, 'w'))
{
fwrite($fp, $string);
fclose($fp);
}
// writing to the file
$handle = fopen($filename, "r") ;
$datatnc = fread($handle, filesize($filename));
$datatnc = addslashes($datatnc);
fclose($handle);
The reason it does not work is because when you are done writing a string to the file the file pointer points to the end of the file so later when you try to read the same file with the same file pointer there is nothing more to read. All you have to do is rewind the pointer to the beginning of the file. Here is an example:
<?php
$fileName = 'test_file';
$savePath = "tmp/tests/" . $fileName;
//create file pointer handle
$fp = fopen($savePath, 'r+');
fwrite($fp, "Writing and Reading with same fopen handle!");
//Now rewind file pointer to start reading
rewind($fp);
//this will output "Writing and Reading with same fopen handle!"
echo fread($fp, filesize($savePath));
fclose($fp);
?>
Here is more info on the rewind() method http://php.net/manual/en/function.rewind.php
I have mentioned the URL through which i got the solution. I implemented the same. If you want me to copy the text from that link then here it is :
$file = fopen("test.txt","w+");
// exclusive lock
if (flock($file,LOCK_EX))
{
fwrite($file,"Write something");
// release lock
flock($file,LOCK_UN);
}
else
{
echo "Error locking file!";
}
fclose($file);
Use fclose after writing to close the file pointer and then fopen again to open it.

Create html file with php script

I want to create a php script that will check if a certain html file exist or not. if it doesn't exist, then create a new one and give it a name.
I have tried the code below, but still not working.
$file = file_get_contents(site_url('appraisal/createReport'));
$filename = 'Service_delivery_report_'.date('Y-m-d', time()).'.html';
$filepath = dirname(__DIR__).'/views/sd_reports/'.$filename;
write_file($filepath, $file);
if(! file_exists ($filename))
{
$fp = fopen($filename, 'w');
fwrite($fp, $file);
fclose($fp);
}
I'm not familiar with the method you're using called 'site_url'. From a quick google search it looks like it's a method in Word Press. Ignoring the site_url method, you might want to test using a specific url, like http://ted.com for example. I've specified is_file rather than file_exists because file_exists will return true even if the path you've specified is a directory, whereas is_file will only return true if the path is an actual file. Try this code, setting the $site variable to a site url or path to a file.
I've also switched some code around, doing a check first to see if the file exists before attempting to read in the contents of $site. This way, if the file already exists, you're not needlessly reading in the contents of $site.
$filename = "Service_delivery_report_" . date("Y-m-d",
time()). ".html";
$filepath = realpath("./") . "/views/sd_reports/" . $filename;
if (!is_file($filepath))
{
$site = "http://somesite.com/somepage";
if ($content = file_get_contents($site))
{
file_put_contents($filepath,
$content);
}
else
{
echo "Could not grab the contents of some site";
}
}
Use file_exists();
<?php
$filename = '/path/to/foo.txt';
if (file_exists($filename)) {
echo "The file $filename exists";
} else {
echo "The file $filename does not exist";
}
?>
Then, if it doesn't exist, create a file with fopen();, like so:
$handle = fopen($filename, "w");
Try this
$file = file_get_contents(site_url('appraisal/createReport'));
$filename = 'Service_delivery_report_'.date('Y-m-d', time()).'.html';
if(! file_exists ($filename))
{
$f = fopen($filename, "w");
fwrite($f, $file);
fclose($f);
}
else
echo "file already exist";

In memory download and extract zip archive

I would like to download a zip archive and unzip it in memory using PHP.
This is what I have today (and it's just too much file-handling for me :) ):
// download the data file from the real page
copy("http://www.curriculummagic.com/AdvancedBalloons.kmz", "./data/zip.kmz");
// unzip it
$zip = new ZipArchive;
$res = $zip->open('./data/zip.kmz');
if ($res === TRUE) {
$zip->extractTo('./data');
$zip->close();
}
// use the unzipped files...
Warning: This cannot be done in memory — ZipArchive cannot work with "memory mapped files".
You can obtain the data of a file inside a zip-file into a variable (memory) with file_get_contentsDocs as it supports the zip:// Stream wrapper Docs:
$zipFile = './data/zip.kmz'; # path of zip-file
$fileInZip = 'test.txt'; # name the file to obtain
# read the file's data:
$path = sprintf('zip://%s#%s', $zipFile, $fileInZip);
$fileData = file_get_contents($path);
You can only access local files with zip:// or via ZipArchive. For that you can first copy the contents to a temporary file and work with it:
$zip = 'http://www.curriculummagic.com/AdvancedBalloons.kmz';
$file = 'doc.kml';
$ext = pathinfo($zip, PATHINFO_EXTENSION);
$temp = tempnam(sys_get_temp_dir(), $ext);
copy($zip, $temp);
$data = file_get_contents("zip://$temp#$file");
unlink($temp);
As easy as:
$zipFile = "test.zip";
$fileInsideZip = "somefile.txt";
$content = file_get_contents("zip://$zipFile#$fileInsideZip");
Old subject but still relevant since I asked myself the same question, without finding an answer.
I ended up writing this function which returns an array containing the name of each file contained in the archive, as well as the decompressed contents of that file:
function GetZipContent(String $body_containing_zip_file) {
$sectors = explode("\x50\x4b\x01\x02", $data);
array_pop($sectors);
$files = explode("\x50\x4b\x03\x04", implode("\x50\x4b\x01\x02", $sectors));
array_shift($files);
$result = array();
foreach($files as $file) {
$header = unpack("vversion/vflag/vmethod/vmodification_time/vmodification_date/Vcrc/Vcompressed_size/Vuncompressed_size/vfilename_length/vextrafield_length", $file);
array_push($result, [
'filename' => substr($file, 26, $header['filename_length']),
'content' => gzinflate(substr($file, 26 + $header['filename_length'], -12))
]);
}
return $result;
}
Hope this is useful ...
You can get a stream to a file inside the zip and extract it into a variable:
$fp = $zip->getStream('test.txt');
if(!$fp) exit("failed\n");
while (!feof($fp)) {
$contents .= fread($fp, 1024);
}
fclose($fp);
If you can use system calls, the simplest way should look like this (bzip2 case). You just use stdout.
$out=shell_exec('bzip2 -dkc '.$zip);

PHP Soap binary image issue

I have a web service for iPhone. I receive an image from iPhone in binary form. What I want to ask is can we determine the extension of image being send in binary form.
my code:
$data=base64_decode($data);
$path='event_image/img_out.gif'; /// issue is here
$fp=fopen($path,'w+');
if($fp){ fwrite($fp,$data); fclose($fp); }
Files have signatures http://www.garykessler.net/library/file_sigs.html
You can read from the first line of the file and check.
function output_jpeg($filename)
{
if(($fp = fopen($filename, “rb”)) === false) {
return;
}
$line = fread($fp, 4);
// check the ‘magic number’ of the file
if($line === “\377\330\377\340”) {
fseek($fp, 0);
fpassthru($fp);
}
fclose($fp);
}
