I'm working on a storefront that sells bundled products, sort of like build-your-own-PCs.
Once the customer has selected their desired options, I'd like them to also give a (nick)name to the product before adding it to their cart. This would be a standard text field purely for the customer's reference.
This field will be displayed in the cart, during checkout, and in the order details once the order is submitted.
What is the best/proper way to implement this user-editable product field?
I had thought Custom Options would be best, however it states that a "Bundle with dynamic pricing cannot include custom defined options. Options will not be saved."
As I'm aware Magento doesn't have any built in way to implement this. You're options would be to find a third party extension or write a custom module.
I found and implemented the workaround shown here: http://amirshakya.wordpress.com/2012/07/08/custom-options-on-a-bundle-product-in-dynamic-pricing/ It essentially disables the warning and enforcement of that rule.
Yes, I realize this is a bit of a hack, but it works great because:
The custom option doesn't need to affect the price (which is why Magento blocks it I think)
It will show both the bundle options and the custom nickname option on the page
User selections will be saved for both

My website is using WooCommerce (Version 6.0.1) without shipping extensions as all physical products will be picked up locally or shipped within only one region, but now I want to add an e-ticket product, no shipping required, using this event ticket plugin (Version 1.1.1; Pro Version Version 1.0.7).
I created a product category named Events for the tickets and hid all shipping options for this category using this method
I have found here, and although it's working perfectly in hiding the shipping options, when I checkout I can't proceed and instead will get the following message:
No shipping method has been selected. Please double check your address, or contact us if you need any help
I'm currently setting local pickup as the only shipping option for tickets by using the aforementioned code then setting the shipping id to display:none in Additional CSS, but that isn't really what I want, especially since it will also hide the shipping options for physical products.
I have read through lots of posts here but they either only hide some of the shipping options or they just suggest the use of extensions. It'd be great if I don't have to buy a WooCommerce extension to manage shipping per product. Is there's anyway to add/eddit another function in functions.php or WooCommerce plugin file to do that? Or some way to use that line of CSS conditionally? As far as I know, CCS doesn't have if statements, and I am not sure how I can do that in php. Any help on how to disable shipping for a particular product/category so that no shipping option needs to be be selected or on how to hide shipping method on Cart and Checkout page for a particular product/category should be much appreciated, thank you.
I'm currently attempting to extend the inherent Magento product view to divide the custom options belonging to a configurable product into sections loaded by ajax. The end goal is to create a step by step process guiding the user through each step of the product configuration process before they would add the product to the cart.

We are also utilizing Mageworx's Advanced Custom Product Options to allow for the larger customization of products.
Simple Products Linked to Configurable
Our current environment is set up to handle simple products as configurators for their parent configurable product. When a user navigates to the simple product, they are directed to the configurable product with the option represented by the simple product pre-selected.
End Goal
The hopeful endpoint would be that once a user clicks on a simple product, they would be redirected to the configurable product with a single pre-selected option depending on the simple product. The user would then be able to customize their order, or jump directly to adding it to the cart as is. The customization process would re-evaluate at each step to determine if there is a concurrent step, for example, if the user were to select to add trim, there would be an additional step to customize that trim, whereas if they opted out, the step would be skipped.
The idea is simply a product configurator within the Magento framework, something similar, in function, as to what appears below. The checkout steps being Style, Color, and Size, each which have their own page.
The Overarching Question
I am fairly new to the development of Magento, and am wondering what the best method of attacking this problem is. I have thought of using an observer to hook into before add to cart, but I am unsure it would allow me to refresh the blocks and load in new data. My other idea was to tap into view.phtml and set up some ajax loading within the page itself, but that seemed a bit 'hacky'.
I have spent quite a while searching for examples on how some have overcome this problems, but haven't found much outside of some very vague ideas on what could work. If any one has insight onto a solution to my problem, their thoughts would be much appreciated.
Current Approach
So far I've tried creating a Router for a Controller to handle POST requests to change out the Product Option sidebar when a value is changed. It seems a little bit slow, however.

The answer that Anx submitted is absolutely right. But you'll have to assign custom option to each product of that category. If you want to repeat the same custom option in multiple products, it will be a lot of manual work.
The simplest solution to apply the same custom option to multiple products is through this free extension.

first, apply the custom option as mentioned by Anx, and then use this extension to copy paste it to multiple products. I used it on my site and it worked fine.

The ideal goal functionality is to display a table as such showing different pricing of the product based on quantity and delivery date.
I have tried to achieve so using the standard magento installation. I have looked around the web and the closest tutorial/guide i have seen is http://www.code4business.de/tier-prices-for-magento-custom-options-en/
What i believed would have achieved the desired functionality was using Magento tier pricing based on the quantity and using the custom options to defer the prices for each quantity dependent on the end user's chosen delivery. However, Magento's custom options by standard doesn't allow you to add different tier pricing custom options.
Following the guide i have attempted to use both extensions and following the code written by the developer without success.
I am happy to switch the project unto woocommerce if woocommerce is easier or offers the functionality in order to produce a pricing table as such using tier pricing/varients.
My question is, weither Woocommerce or Magento, what are my options to developing a pricing table as such?

I have several hundred products in my Magento store, all of which have a very similar set of custom options. I used one product as a template, and copied its custom options to all of the other products so that all of the products currently have the same set of custom options.
I would like to disable or hide certain custom options for some products in my store without deleting the option completely. Right now, I only have the ability to delete an option for a product entirely. For example, some products cannot currently be ordered in different colors, but they might be later; I'd like to be able to disable the color option rather than delete it and re-add the entire list of colors later.
Does anyone have any similar experience who can provide me with some help with this problem? Thanks, I really appreciate the help!
Using custom options for attributes like "color" is not a correct approach for Magento. Magento has special product type - Configurable product for the catalog structure you're trying to achieve.
Here's benefits you'll get from using configurable product instead of custom options:
Automatic stock management. You won't need to enable-disable your custom options as soon as some physical item is out of stock - Magento will do it for you.
You won't have to copy all custom options to a new product you create. The attribute for the Attribute set this product belongs to will automatically be available for new entries.
You will have ability to filter your products by the color attribute on Category page using Layered Navigation.
