I'm struggling to get the correct syntax to to parse out the values from an array to use with the foreach loop. I have an array:
$contacts_array
which contains one or more names which I need to search on. The array looks like this:
Array
(
[0] => PR1010
[1] => PR1086
)
If I was to manually generate the required PHP code with a known number of names it would look like this where there are 2 names to search on:
// Create first find request
$findreq1 =$fm->newFindRequest('Contacts');
// Create second find request
$findreq2 =$fm->newFindRequest('Contacts');
// Specify search criterion for first find request
$findreq1->addFindCriterion('Name', $searchTerm);
// Specify search criterion for second find request
$findreq2->addFindCriterion('Suburb', $searchTerm);;
// Add find requests to compound find command
$request->add(1,$findreq1);
$request->add(2,$findreq2);
I need to generate the equivalent code for every name in the array. I know I need to use something like:
foreach($contacts_array as $contact_array => $value)
{
}
as well as:
$num = 1
$num++; } /* foreach record */
I'm just not sure how to bring this all together so that it increments the $findreq1 variables as I go. All my attempts so far generate errors. If anyone can show me how to combine this together that would be greatly appreciated as I'm learning PHP as I go.
Thanks
<?php
for($i = 0; $i < count($contacts_array); $i++) {
${'findreq' . ($i+1)} = $fm->newFindRequest('Contacts');
${'findreq' . ($i+1)}->addFindCriterion('Name', $contacts_array[$i]);
$request->add($i+1, ${'findreq' . ($i+1)});
}
?>

You guys beat me to it.
<?php
$contacts = Array('PR1010','PR1086');
//print_r($contacts);
foreach ($contacts as $key => $value) {
//echo "key: ".$key." - Value: ".$value."<br>";
$findreq1 = $fm->newFindRequest('Contacts');
$findreq1->addFindCriterion('Name', $value); // this is where the Array's value is passed too, it is looped for every value in the Array
$request->add(1,$findreq1);
// do more here
}

I have this
$homedata = $user->getbanks();
foreach ($homedata as $data)
echo json_encode(array("replies" => array(array("message" => $data->bankname))));
I have this put the result am getting is only one array from the list. I want to get all.
If I understand your requirement correctly, you need the banknames in an array replies within a key message. For that the below code will do the job. But you can optimize the query for better performance.
$homedata = $user->getbanks();
$banks['replies'] = [];
foreach ($homedata as $data) {
$banks['replies'][]['message'] = $data->bankname;
}
print_r(json_encode($banks)); exit;
Further, you were only getting the first content because you are overriding the previous content when you iterate using foreach.
I want to get the data from array inside array as per the below code :
{"address":"0x64890972513558cb4e4b4a7f8af48d892fd097b7","ETH":{"**balance**":0,"totalIn":0,"totalOut":0},"countTxs":0,"tokens":[{"**tokenInfo**":{"**address**":"0xad640689e6950b7453729a4686edb3fdfd754616","**name**":"CIChain","decimals":"18","symbol":"CIC","totalSupply":"3000000000000000000000000000","owner":"0xecb64b92ffb5179b47c87d2f105d6eeebb132c68","lastUpdated":1527246490,"issuancesCount":0,"holdersCount":31528,"**price**":false}
i'm using this steps but I couldn't continue :
$address = "0x64890972513558cb4e4b4a7f8af48d892fd097b7"; //$_POST['address'];
$scan_url = 'https://api.ethplorer.io/getAddressInfo/'.$address.'?apiKey=freekey';
$scan_json = file_get_contents($scan_url);
$scan_array = json_decode($scan_json, true);
foreach($scan_array['tokens'] as $key => $eth) {
foreach($eth['tokenInfo'] as $key => $etth) {
echo $etth['name'];
}}
I want to retrieve the marked date by stars ** into echo in php so how can I get the nested data.
According to your url given you need to change you code like below
$scan_array = json_decode($scan_json, true);
foreach($scan_array['tokens'] as $key => $eth) {
echo $eth['tokenInfo']["name"]. "\n";
}
Live demo
Second foreach is giving all element from tokenInfo so either no need to use inner foreach or to get all element no need to use like $etth['name'] this, only $etth will give is enough.
I will be getting some certain amount of data. I will get the number for which the for loop to be run.
For example
I get the number 3 and I will get three parameters like par1,par2 and par3 then how should I pass this par1 in the $_post
like
$i=$_POST["number"];
for($i=1;$i<=$n;$i++)
{
$par.$i = $_POST["par".$i];
}
Here I cant get the value from $_POST["par".$i];
As it is not able to get the variable inside the paramater of $_POST
Any help will be thankful
I suggest that you create a new array $par and there you will put by index all the par you will have like this:
$i=$_POST["number"];
$par = [];
for($i=1;$i<=$n;$i++)
{
$par[$i] = $_POST["par".$i];
}
After that if you want to go throw all pars you can simply use foreach like this:
foreach($par as $key => $value) {
// $key will be 1,2,3
// $value will be the value from $_POST["par" . $i]
}
The . is to concatenate two strings in PHP, and you can't create a new variable like you tried. If you want to have in $par1, $par2 and $par3 you can do like this:
${"par" . $i} = $_POST["par".$i];
But I don't recommend this way because it's more hard to handle.
One Way
According to your question.
<?php
$n = $_POST["number"];
$par = "par";
for($i=1; $i<=$n; $i++){
$par.$i = $_POST["par".$i];
}?>
Alternative Way
In this scenario,
For example I get the number 3 and I will get three parameters like
par1,par2 and par3 then how should I pass this par1 in the $_post.
Better, make 'par' input name as an array type as 'par[]' (<input type='text' name='par[]'>) in your file instead using par1, par2 .. par(n).
And, no need to worry in submit page.
<?php
$n = $_POST["number"];
for($i=1;$i<= $n;$i++){
$newPar = $_POST["par"][$i];
// Write here your logic to use how you want.
}
?>
I know this should be very simple, but boy I'm making a mess of it... would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.
I've got an array which looks like this:
print_r($request_attributes['length']);
Array
(
[0] => 28.00000
[1] => 18.00000
)
and am trying to modify like so:
if(is_array($request_attributes['length'])) {
$request_attributes['length'] = $request_attributes['length'][0];
print($request_attributes['length']);
$request_attributes['length'] = $request_attributes['length'][1];
print($request_attributes['length']);
}
which gives the correct output in the first update, but the second item outputs an '8'. I've tried the above in both a for and foreach which results in similar output for both this and the other two arrays ( width(8) and height(0) - they should result in 18.00000 and 13.00000 respectively ). So I guess I really have two questions:
1. How do I update this(these) element(s)?
2. Where are the funny outputs actually coming from?
If anyone can help, I'd really appreciated it.
Just have a look at this. Your problem is, that you override you variable and in the second step $request_attributes['length'] is a string. Just define another var for your values.
$request_attributes['length'] = [
28.000,
18.000
];
$attributes = array();
if (is_array($request_attributes['length'])) {
foreach ($request_attributes['length'] as $value) {
$attributes[] = $value;
}
}
As you see $attributes will contain all values of your $request_attributes['length'] array and will not be overwritten.
Define araay as below
$val=array([0]=>"18.000",[1]=>13.000)
then use
if(is_array($request_attributes['length'])) {
$request_attributes['length'] = $val;
print_r($request_attributes['length']);
$request_attributes['length'] = $val;
print_r($request_attributes['length']);
}
Previously your array doesnt have any name.
Your print will only return Just array not the values
use
print_r($request_attributes['length']) ;
instead
I am trying to organize an array of data to be sent in an email. I have no problem getting the data, but I am not sure how to organize it.
Foreach: Here outputs a list of questions generated by the user in the backend
$message = array();
foreach($questions['questions'] as $key => $value){
if(is_array($value) && isset($value[ 'questionlist'])){
foreach($value as $key => $subquestion){ //line 119
foreach ($subquestion as $key => $value){
$message[] = $value['a-question'];
}
}
}
}
I am trying to conjoin the data with each other, the data from the foreach and the $_POST data which is check values.
My logic for doing it this way is because one comes from the database, one is just form data (that does not need to be saved to the database it comes from the front end unlike the data from the database that is generated via backend) That said there perhaps is a better way, but I pretty much got this I am just not sure how to join the data so it looks like
<li>MYARRAYDATA - MYFORMDATA</li>
<li>MYARRAYDATA - MYFORMDATA</li>
<li>MYARRAYDATA - MYFORMDATA</li>
//The form input data '0', '1' values
$checks = $_POST['personalization_result'];
//Putting that data into array_values
$checkValues = array_values($checks);
//Then passing the array_values into 'implode' and organizing it with a list (<li>)
$checkString = '<li>'.implode('</li><li>',$checkValues).'</li>';
//Then testing with var_dump outputs a nice list of '0','1' values
var_dump ($checkString);
Trying the same method but trying to conjoin the foreach array and the check values does not work, here is an example.
//Similar to $checkValues I pass the data from the foreach into "array_values"
var_dumping this works fine.
$arrayValues = array_values($message);
//This is obvious it's the same as above it "implodes" the data nicely into a list(<li>)
$arrayString = '<li>'.implode('</li><li>',$arrayValues).'</li>';
//This var dumps the "$arrayString" nicely
var_dump ($arrayString)
Again the actual question is here, how do I conjoin each piece of data?
My Attempts: Here are my attempts for "conjoining" the data.
// This does not work well (maybe by cleaning up it can work) but it outputs 2 separate lists
var_dump ($arrayString.'_'.$checkString);
//I tried to run it inside one implode variable this is invalid arguments
$checkString = '<li>'.implode('</li><li>',$arrayValues.'_'.$checkValues).'</li>';
//Modified one implode variable this outputs see below
$checkString = '<li>'.implode('</li>'.$arrayValues.'<li>',$checkValues).'</li>';
<li>Array
1</li>
<li>Array
0</li>
<li>Array
1</li>
<li>Array
0</li>
var_dump results: Here is the var_dump result of each array, I want to combine these into one list
$_POST array
// Var dump of form $_POST DATA
var_dump ($checkString);
//Result
1 //This is generated through the $_POST method not on database
0 //This is generated through the $_POST method not on database
1 //This is generated through the $_POST method not on database
0 //This is generated through the $_POST method not on database
DATABASE array
// Var dump of datbase generated from backend
var_dump ($arrayString);
//Result
I am 1 //This is generated in the backend and is stored on a database
Hi I am 2 //This is generated in the backend and is stored on a database
civil is 3 //This is generated in the backend and is stored on a database
THIS IS FOURTA //This is generated in the backend and is stored on a database
The Goal
I am 1 - 1 //This is checked
Hi I am 2 - 0 //This is NOT checked
civil is 3 - 1 //This is checked
THIS IS FOURTA - 0 //This is NOT checked
The Answer: Thanks to #xdim222
I didn't understand it at first, because of the increment, but now I understand it all, initially it would have worked but my variables were under the foreach statement and that was causing it not to return the array.
At least in my opinion thats what it was, because when I added the variable above the foreach it worked.
I modified the answer to suit my code.
//$messages = array('test1', 'test2', 'test3', 'test4', 'test5');
//Instead of using this array I used the array generated in my foreach above.
// Instead of this $checks = array(1,0,1,0); I take the $_POST value which generates an array, you can see above.
$checkValues = array_values($checks);
$checkString = implode($checkValues);
$i=0;
foreach($messages as $msg) {
echo $msg . ' - ' . ( isset($checkString[$i])? $checkString[$i] : 0 ) . '<br>';
$i++;
}
Again thanks to #xdim222 for being patient, reading my long question, and most importantly helping me learn, by asking this question and finding a solution this stuff really sticks and is in my opinion the best way to learn (by asking). :)
To make it easier, I assign $messages and $checks directly, I have tried this code and it works. You might have different elements of your arrays, but I think you can figure it out from my code below:
$messages = array('test1', 'test2', 'test3', 'test4', 'test5');
$checks = array(1,0,1,0);
$i=0;
foreach($messages as $msg) {
echo $msg . ' - ' . ( isset($checks[$i])? $checks[$i] : 0 ) . '<br>';
$i++;
}
PS: I made a mistake in my previous answer by incrementing $i before echoing things out, array element should start by 0.
While waiting for your reply to my comment above, I'm trying to write some code here..
I assume you want to display the questions that were pulled from database and it should be displayed based on what user chose in the form. So you may use this code:
foreach($questions['questions'] as $key => $value){
if(is_array($value) && isset($value[ 'questionlist'])){
foreach($value as $key => $subquestion){ //line 119
foreach ($subquestion as $key => $value){
$message[$key] = $value['a-question'];
}
}
}
}
I added $key in $message in the code above, with an assumption that $key is the index of a question, and this index will be matched with what user chose in the form. Then we can list all the questions that a user have chosen:
foreach($checks as $check)
echo '<li>'.$check . ' - ' . $message[$check].'</li>';
Is this what you want?
Based on your update:
$i=0;
foreach($message as $msg) {
$i++;
echo '<li>'. $msg . ' - ' . ( isset($checks[$i])? $checks[$i] : 0 ) . '</li>';
}
Maybe this is what you want.
As I said, there should be a relation between the $message and $checks, otherwise the above code looks a bit weird, because how do we know that a question is selected by user? Maybe you should show how you get that $_POST['personalization_result'] in your HTML.
