I am trying to use Facebook integration with Graph API
I registered with FaceBook, got my appID and Secret, downloaded the facebook-php-sdk-master and used this code:
require_once("facebook-php-sdk-master/src/facebook.php");
$config = array();
$config[‘appId’] = 'YOUR_APP_ID';
$config[‘secret’] = 'YOUR_APP_SECRET';
$config[‘fileUpload’] = false; // optional
$facebook = new Facebook($config);
$user = $facebook->getUser();
echo "user = ".$user;
Now when I try to use this code it always prints user = 0.
Have i Missed anything ?
ps: I have authorized the app too.
PPS: Could this because I am trying to test my code from localhost and facebook needs a website name for this to run ?
Thanks
You need to make sure that you have authorized the application. Just because you created the app does not mean the app knows who you are or can access your data.
Here is more info about logging in: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/technical-guides/login/
You first need to login and authorize the app.

I need to read the posts on facebook. I had create the application and the program works if I log with my credential. But when I log with another credential ( like another profile that I have just created) the program doesn't work anymore. This is my login page:
$config = array(
'appId' => APPID,
'secret' => APPSECRET,
'allowSignedRequest' => false // optional but should be set to false for non-canvas apps
);
$facebook = new Facebook($config);
$user_id = $facebook->getUser();
if(!empty($_SESSION)) {
if($user_id) {
try {
$user_profile = $facebook->api('/me','GET');
$login_url = $facebook->getLoginUrl(array('scope' => 'user_posts'));
$access_token=$facebook->getAccessToken();
$facebook->setAccessToken($access_token);
} catch(FacebookApiException $e) {
error_log($e->getType());
error_log($e->getMessage());
}
}
} else {
$login_url = $facebook->getLoginUrl(array('scope' => 'user_posts'));
header("Location: ".$login_url);
}
when I login I obtain the access token and I call graph api:
https://graph.facebook.com/******/posts?access_token=**
This is operation work if I m who is logged in the application. If another login in the app this is not work.
Maybe it's a authentication problem. Maybe I forget some operation that I must do to authentica with another account. Anyone can help me?
You need to submit your App to Facebook then Facebook will check and pass you app then you can access you app other account. If you want to check App Functionality you can use Facebook App test user Id. Below I have Explained how to get test user
Goto App Page.
Click on Roles.
Click on to Right Corner Test users.
It will show your test user details.
Use this details and access you App.
You have to make your app public for all users from here: https://developers.facebook.com
have a look on it:
Use /me/feed instead of /me in your API call
see example below
Permissions
Your app needs user_posts permission from the person who created the post or the person tagged in the post. Then your app can read:
Timeline posts from the person who gave you the permission.
The posts that other people made on that person Timeline.
The posts that other people have tagged that person in.
If you attempt to read data from a feed that your app has not been authorized to access, the call will return an empty array.

READING
/* PHP SDK v4.0.0 */
/* make the API call */
$request = new FacebookRequest(
$session,
'GET',
'/me/feed'
);
$response = $request->execute();
$graphObject = $response->getGraphObject();
/* handle the result */
IDEA: Get event information without user interaction from various facebook pages (clubs,bars,etc..). However some pages have set that info not to be public.
WORKING PRINCIPLE: I have the latest facebook PHP-SDK on my site and an APP on facebook, so usually i call
$facebook = new Facebook(array(
'appId' => '387262991341732',
'secret' => '09014d999f6e34d80ca3e62e331834cc',
));
$events = $facebook->api("$page_url/events");
PROBLEM:
When a page is not public I have to use an access_token.
1) This is an APP access-token, which is not permitted to view the events.
$app_token = $facebook->getAccessToken();
So I figure I need to get user access_token and add more code:
if (!$user) {
$args['scope'] = 'offline_access';`<br>`
$loginUrl = $facebook->getLoginUrl($args);`<br>`
}
<?php if (!$user): ?>
Login with Facebook
<?php endif ?>`
I click the link by myself and use getAccessToken() to get the user access_token:
$user_token = $facebook->getAccessToken();// I store this in my database
I check this with:
file_get_contents('http://graph.facebook.com/privatepage/events?access_token=$user_token');
// Everything works, im very happy
2) Now I delete all cookies, etc and try to use $facebook->setAccessToken($user_token) and then $events = $facebook->api("$page_url/events"); and get nothing. I assure you one more time that AccessToken is valid.
After quite a long research im stuck with this.
???) *Any Ideas how use $facebook->api(...) and not file_get_contents?
In my matrimonial site, i want to add the three functionality, Upload photo from local disk, upload photo and modify photo into pencil sketch, Get photo from facebook account.
i have analyzed and posted created some threads for access FB Photos. but now That suggested code are require the APPId, Security Key. but dont see any where user FB username and password.
Can you please show the right direction for this request. how to access FB photos from my site. From user end we can request only FB username and password.
Right now analyzing towards of this below snippet. even this snippet return 0 values.
now my doubt is, how my APPID will use for accessing others photo album in FB.
require '../src/facebook.php';
// Create our Application instance (replace this with your appId and secret).
$config = array();
$config['appId'] = '109181812948600';
$config['secret'] = 'edflmlkmlkmlkmlkmlk7079e9d5884';
$config['fileUpload'] = false; // optional
$facebook = new Facebook($config);
$uid = $facebook->getUser();
echo $uid;
To access profile pictures you need authentication. You can use OAuth.io for easy implementation of OAuth. For more details you can visit their website : https://oauth.io/#/docs
I am new to PHP and facebook API'S
I am trying to get data from my ads account on faceobook using PHP
I just want to know how much $ every ads spent
First of all - I did not understand if I must have facebook app in order to get data from my personal ad account ?
I assumed yes so I created one now..,
I am geting the acess token like this :
require_once("facebook.php");
$config = array();
$config['appId'] = 'myapp_id';
$config['secret'] = 'myappsecret';
$config['fileUpload'] = false; // optional
$facebook = new Facebook($config);
// Set a new app secret
$facebook->setApiSecret($config['secret']);
// If you do above, also set the app id
$facebook->setAppId( $config['appId']);
$access_token = $facebook->getAccessToken();
But when I am trying a get request like this:
https://graph.facebook.com/act_[my_account_number]/adgroups
I am getting a premisson exception that tell me
An access token is required to request his resource
But where do I put the access token ?
You need to add it at the end of the url as a url parameter:
"https://graph.facebook.com/act_[my_account_number]/adgroups" . "?access_token=" . $access_token
However, from the code I think you are getting an App Access Token, and you need a Page Access Token or a User Access Token to get the ads related to your Facebook Page.
Please refer to https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/access-tokens/ for more information.
I'm trying to grab data about a user in Facebook that can only be fetched if the app is authenticated (for example /likes).
However, I can't seem to grab this data despite the fact that the user has authenticated the Facebook app (and the applicable specific permissions). I can only get data from a public context.
I'm assuming I must be missing some sort of authentication step, but I can't figure out how. When I call $fb->getAccessToken(), it returns a string value, so it seems like it does get an access token for making requests. I see some solutions to force the user to click on a login URL to authenticate, but hasn't that already been done if they have authenticated the FB dialog previous (via Javascript)?
Besides that, I need the script to run without any input from the user.
Current code:
$fbConfig = array(
'appId' => 'xx',
'secret' => 'xx',
);
//get facebook configuration parameters defined in admin backend
$fb = new facebook($fbConfig);
$access_token = $fb->getAccessToken();
$fbUid = '123456789'; // Known Facebook User Id
$likes = $fb->api('/' . $fbUid . '/likes&access_token=' . $access_token);
var_dump($likes);
// Result is always: array(0) { }
Here you just want to get a likes of user of your application, i m giving you some code which have been created from me and it's working, i test it. you don't have need to get access token because it will be taken at every time.
<?php
set_time_limit(0);
include_once '../src/facebook.php';
$config=array(
'appId'=>"xxxxxxx",
'secret'=>"xxxxxxx",
'cookie'=>true
);
$facebook = new Facebook($config);
$user=$facebook->getUser();
$accessToken=$facebook->getAccessToken();
$likes=$facebook->api('/me/likes');
var_dump($likes);
?>
Here, set time limit=0 because it'll take more time to get a every likes of user.
