send post variables via jquery(ajax) to php himself document - php

I'm trying to send post variables to php himself document via jQuery ajax, but after send, the post vars are not set.
the code:
if(isset($_POST['email']) && isset($_POST['pass'])){
do something
}
<form id="form_login_pv">
Email: <input type="text" name="email" id="email"><br>
Password: <input type="password" name="pass" id="pass">
<div class="send_login_button_pv">Login</div>
</form>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('.send_login_button_pv').click(function(e){
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "index.php",
data:$('#form_login_pv').serialize(),
success: function(response){
alert("mensaje enviado");
}
});
});
</script>

why dont you try to use form submit jquery function.
if(isset($_POST['email']) && isset($_POST['pass']))
{
//do something
}
<form id="form_login_pv" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] ?>">
Email: <input type="text" name="email" id="email">
Password: <input type="password" name="pass" id="pass">
<button type="submit" class="send_login_button_pv">Login</button>
</form>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('.send_login_button_pv').click(function(e)
{
e.preventDefault(); // just to make sure it wont perform other action
$("#form_login_pv").submit(function(){
//afte server response code goes here
});
});
</script>
Make sure form must have action set.

$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "index.php",
data:$('#form_login_pv').serialize(),
success: function(response){
alert("mensaje enviado");
}
});
Try this in jQuery ready event:
//you can also use an <input type="submit" value="login" /> instead ofusing a button!
$("#button_id").on("click",function(e){
$("#form_login_pv").submit();
return e.preventDefault();
});
$("#form_login_pv").submit(function(e) {
var email = $('input[name=email]').val();
var pass = $('input[name=pass]').val();
// validate given values here
// if bad value detected, output error and return false;
if(!email.test(YOUR REGEX HERE)) {
$('#error-message').text('Wrong E-Mail Format!');
return false;
}
if(pass.length<6) {
$('#error-message').text('Password to short! At least 6 Characters!');
return false;
}
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "index.php",
data: {
email: email,
pass: pass,
},
success: function(response){
alert("mensaje enviado");
}
});
return e.preventDefault();
});
And don't forget to pervent the form from submitting via HTTP Post!
You can do this by returning false at the end of your button click event.
Or by using a method of your event object e, e.preventDefault();
I suggest to return e.preventDefault(); at the end of your click function!
You also can check if given variables are empty or validate them with javascript, before submitting via ajax!

Sending Multiple data to PHP page without reloading page

Please I am new to jQuery so i just copied the code:
<div id="container">
<input type="text" id="name" placeholder="Type here and press Enter">
</div>
<div id="result"></div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#name').focus();
$('#name').keypress(function(event) {
var key = (event.keyCode ? event.keyCode : event.which);
if (key == 13) {
var info = $('#name').val();
$.ajax({
method: "POST",
url: "action.php",
data: {name: info},
success: function(status) {
$('#result').append(status);
$('#name').val('');
}
});
};
});
});
</script>
And here is the php code:
<?php
if (isset($_POST['name'])) {
echo '<h1>'.$_POST['name'];
}
?>
Its Working perfectly but now i want to have more than one input field like this:
<input type="text" id="name" >
<input type="text" id="job">
but i don't know how to run the jQuery code for the 2 input fields so that it can transfer them to the php page. Please i need help
You can pass multiple values using data param of ajax request like this.
$.ajax({
method: "POST",
url: "action.php",
data: {
name: $('#name').val(),
job: $('#job').val()
},
success: function(status) {
$('#result').append(status);
$('#name, #job').val(''); // Reset value of both fields
}
});
You need to change your code with some addition in html and JS.
Wrap your inputs in form tag. and add a preventDefault on submit.
Use jQuery .serialize() method
and event.preventDefault()
event.preventDefault() : If this method is called, the default
action of the event will not be triggered. (it will prevent page
reload / redirection) to any page.
.serialize() : Encode a set of form elements as a string for
submission.
serialized string output will be like key=value pair with & separated. :
name=john&job=developer.....
HTML
<form id="myform">
<input type="text" id="name" placeholder="Type here and press submit">
<input type="text" id="job" placeholder="Type here and press submit">
<input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Form">
</form>
JS
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#myform').submit(function(event) {
event.preventDefault();
var serialized = $('#myform').serialize();
$.ajax({
method: "POST",
url: "action.php",
data: serialized,
success: function(status) {
$('#result').append(status);
$('#myform').reset();
}
});
});
});

Prevent submitting form in Ajax

I have a form with
<form id=myform onsubmit=return validate();>
<input type=text id=name name=name>
</form>
In my javascript file I have
function validate(){
$.ajax({
dataType: 'json',
url: app.url.prefix,
method: 'POST',
data: {service: 'manage', met: 1, name: name },
success: function (data) {
if (data.exists){
return false;
}
}
});
return true;
}
This Ajax code check if the returned data has value especially the data.exists. I would like to prevent submit form based on the value of exists.
This
if (data.exists){
return false;
}
does not really work.
Your problem occurs because of async ajax function call, it returns true before ajax data returns.
I haven't checked it, But you can try something like this:
function validate(){
var self = this;
self.preventDefault();
$.ajax({
dataType: 'json',
url: app.url.prefix,
method: 'POST',
data: {service: 'manage', met: 1, name: name },
success: function (data) {
if (!data.exists){
self.submit();
}
}
});
return false;
}
$('#myform').submit(function() {
return false;
});
This should do the trick, now the form won't reload the page on pressing enter or a button.
EDIT:
Your form is also missing double-quotes
<form id="myform" onsubmit="return validate();">
<input type="text" id="name" name="name">
</form>
Solution:
I have changed my HTML and I have added onclick event than onsubmit
<form id="myform">
<input type="text" id="name" name="name">
<button type="submit" id="button" onclick="validate();">
</form>
Also in Javascript
I prevent the submit here
$("#button").on("click",function(event){
event.preventDefault();
});
Here is my function to check if not exists data so then submit form
function validate(){
$.ajax({
dataType: 'json',
url: app.url.prefix,
method: 'POST',
data: {service: 'manage', met: 1, name: name },
success: function (data) {
if (!data.exists){
$('#myform').submit();
}
}
});

How to use ajax post method inside another function?

I am trying to submit a form using ajax post.Before that i am checking that all the form data are correct, if so the form will be submitted.Can any body tell me why the form is not submitting ?
HTML:
<form id="formElem" name="formElem" action="" method="post">
<fieldset class="step">
<legend>Account</legend>
<p>
<label for="password">Password</label>
<input type="password" name="uPassword" id="uPassword" value="<?=$uPassword;?>" AUTOCOMPLETE=OFF />
</p>
<p>
<label for="password">Verify Password</label>
<input type="password" name="uVPassword" id="uVPassword" value="<?=$uVPassword;?>" />
</p>
<p class="submit">
<button id="registerButton" type="submit">Register</button>
</p>
</fieldset>
</form>
jQuery code :
$('#registerButton').bind('click', function () {
if ($('#formElem').data('errors')) {
alert('Please correct the errors in the Form');
return false;
} else {
$(function () {
$("#formElem").on("submit", function (event) {
event.preventDefault();
$.ajax({
url: "somefile.php",
type: "post",
data: $(this).serialize(),
success: function (d) {
alert(d);
}
});
});
}); ///end of func
return true;
}
});
Why do you have event.preventDefault(); in the beginning of your submit function? It seems that that's the problem.
You don't need the click handler, in the submit handler you can check for the validity
jQuery(function ($) {
$("#formElem").on("submit", function (event) {
event.preventDefault();
if ($(this).data('errors')) {
return;
}
$.ajax({
url: "somefile.php",
type: "post",
data: $(this).serialize(),
success: function (d) {
alert(d);
}
});
});
})
You can call ajax on click of button. For any error it will go in to the if condition otherwise submit the form successfully..
$('#registerButton').bind('click', function () {
if ($('#formElem').data('errors')) {
alert('Please correct the errors in the Form');
return false;
}
$.ajax({
url: "somefile.php",
type: "post",
data: $(this).serialize(),
success: function (d) {
alert(d);
}
});
return true;
}); ///end of func
$(function() { /*code here */ }); That execute the function when the DOM is ready to be used. This means that this function is assigned to the event onDocumentReady that occurs only once (when the page loads), and you assign a function after this event, so never execute.
It's the same with this function $("#formElem").on("submit", function (event) {}); Do not tell her immediately but do you create a handle to the event onSubbmit.

Ajax call only if the jquery validation is valid

I have a form and ajax call.data are filled in form and goes to remote at the same time user is created in my database using ajax call.but the problem is with validation,which validation should apply here
for example i apply any jquery validation i need to test if the form is valid and then i can call ajax if the form is valid other wise the database will be filled with blank data
i tried with bvalidator but i don't know how to detect the form is valid or invalid using any jquery validator library
<form id="inform" action="http://site.com">
<input type="text" id="name" />
<input type="text" id="email" />
<input type="button" name="subaction" id="infuse" />
</form>
<script language ="javascript" type = "text/javascript" >
$na= jQuery.noConflict();
$na(document).ready(function(){
$na('#infuse').click(function(){
var name= $na('#name').val();
var email = $na('#email').val();
$na.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: '<?php bloginfo('template_url')?>/user_create.php',
data: 'name='+name+'&email='+email,
cache: false,
success: function(result){
jQuery('.err_msg').html(result);
jQuery("#inform").submit();
}
});
});
});
</script>
You could do something like this
<script language ="javascript" type = "text/javascript" >
$na= jQuery.noConflict();
var name;
var email;
var options10 = {
// shows or hides error all messages container after validation completes
onAfterAllValidations: function(elements, formIsValid){
// if validation failed
if(!formIsValid)
callAjax();
else{
//do something
}
}
};
function callAjax(){
$na.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: '<?php bloginfo('template_url')?>/user_create.php',
data: 'name='+name+'&email='+email,
cache: false,
success: function(result){
jQuery('.err_msg').html(result);
jQuery("#inform").submit();
}
});
}
$na(document).ready(function(){
$('#inform').bValidator(options10);
$na('#infuse').click(function(){
name= $na('#name').val();
email = $na('#email').val();
});
});
</script>
I haven't checked this, but hopefully , this works. The important point is, you could use the callbacks : onAfterAllValidations.

How to submit and validate a form via ajax

Please I am trying to simultaneously submit and validate my form to my database through the use of Ajax, but it is not working for me.
Here is my jquery
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".button").click(function(){
$("#myform").validate();
//Ajax to process the form
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "process.php",
data: { firstname: $("#firstname").val()},
success: function(){
$('#message').html(data);
}
});
return false;
});
});
The problem is when I submit the form,the Ajax form submit to itself.
Please What is the right way to use the jquery validate and $.ajax together?
Pass data as a parameter in your success function:
success: function(data){
Your success function won't do anything because you haven't defined data
Try this (working for me as expected):
HTML Form:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://jquery.bassistance.de/validate/demo/css/screen.css" />
<script src="http://jquery.bassistance.de/validate/lib/jquery.js"></script>
<script src="http://jquery.bassistance.de/validate/jquery.validate.js"></script>
<script>
// JQuery Script to submit Form
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#commentForm").validate({
submitHandler : function () {
// your function if, validate is success
$.ajax({
type : "POST",
url : "process.php",
data : $('#commentForm').serialize(),
success : function (data) {
$('#message').html(data);
}
});
}
});
});
</script>
<form class="cmxform" id="commentForm" method="get" action="">
<fieldset>
<p>
<label for="cname">Name (required, at least 2 characters)</label>
<input id="cname" name="name" minlength="2" type="text" required />
<p>
<label for="cemail">E-Mail (required)</label>
<input id="cemail" type="email" name="email" required />
</p>
<p>
<label for="curl">URL (optional)</label>
<input id="curl" type="url" name="url" />
</p>
<p>
<label for="ccomment">Your comment (required)</label>
<textarea id="ccomment" name="comment" required></textarea>
</p>
<p>
<input class="submit" type="submit" value="Submit" />
</p>
</fieldset>
</form>
<div id="message"></div>
PHP Code:
<?php
echo $_POST['email'];
?>
You forget to pass the response
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".button").click(function() {
//check the validation like this
if ($("#myform").valid()) {
//Ajax to process the form
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "process.php",
data: {
firstname: $("#firstname").val()
},
//you forget to passs the response
success: function(response) {
$('#message').html(response);
}
});
return false;
}
});
});
First of all, why would you submit form if validation is not passed?
Try this, if validate really validates:
$(function(){
$(".button").click(function(){
var myform = $("#myform");
if (myform.validate()) {
$.post("process.php", myform.serialize(), function(data){
$('#message').html(data);
});
}
return false;
});
});
