Following a Doctrine / CodeIgniter tutorial
Everything is good up until the very end when I try to insert data through my controller
$user = new Entities\User;
$user->setFirstName('Joel');
$this->doctrine->em->persist($user);
I get:

This might be due to a difference in the tutorial version of Doctrine vs. the current version as noted here, but the tutorial version is no longer supported by Doctrine and I'm not sure what to change.
Did you set the proxy directory by doing somewhere :
// set up proxy configuration
$config->setProxyDir(APPPATH.'models/Proxies');
$config->setProxyNamespace('Proxies');
You have a problem with the setting of the proxy dir.
Check that the proxy directory is well defined and that the directory exists.

It looks like permission trouble:
To fix, i did
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data .

Symfony is complaining about renaming proxy classes during my multiple instance command execution. Basically, I am running a Symfony command mutliple times at the same time, and it is throwing an error for generated proxy classes not being able to be renamed...
In ProxyGenerator.php line 293:

And I think it says to set the AutoGeneratedProxyClasses to AUTOGENERATE_FILE_NOT_EXISTS, which I found on

Which says I use this following line to set that mode
$mode = AUTOGENERATE_FILE_NOT_EXISTS;
$config->setAutoGenerateProxyClasses($mode);
but where do I put that line?
I need to upload my symfony 3 project online, but I have only access to ftp. So I did all necessary steps I found:
composer update
Clear the cache for production: php app/console cache:clear --env=prod
Upload all app folder on server
After I open my website I got the following error:

What is confusing me is that path from error before my actual domain name.

I dont know where it comed from and how to fix it.

You are absolutely sure you set the file permissions correctly like indicated here:

The message you posted seems to point to something like that.
Also run:
php bin/symfony_requirements
just to check that you've met all the other requirements.
I know there are some questions almost identical but none of them seems to be my case.
I have a symfony 2.8.3 project that reads and imports data from an excel file into mysql database. Its all working nice on localhost but in the last 48 hours I've been trying to get it working on my server. Its a shared hosting, with no SSH access to the linux.
When I am trying to load it from the server I get this error: "You have requested a non-existent service "phpexcel"."
Looks like you want to use service from ExcelBundle. But that bundle is not loaded. Check if you have it added for production env.

Don't forget to clear cache on production environment after any config (AppKernel.php also) change.
To clear cache run php app/console cache:clear. You can also add env parameter: --env=dev or --env=prod - depending on your env. If it don't help then just remove all content of app/cache/ directory (or var/cache/ in case of Symfony3 app)
Pawel answered correctly, but something is missing: after you add this line: new Liuggio\ExcelBundle\LiuggioExcelBundle(), to the AppKernel.php file, inside the $bundles array, don't forget to clear the cache: delete the file from app/cache/dev in case you're in developer mode or app/cache/prod in case on production mode.
I got the errors below when running the command below. I already have my schema file generated from reverse engineering through propel.

Failed to create "": mkdir(): Invalid path.
Sounds like propel doesn't know where to put the files. Typing propel --help will give you command line options. There you find an option to specify an output folder.
propel model:build --output-dir C:\temp
(you'll have to specify a local OS X path instead of my Windows temp folder)

I'm migrating a symfony project from 2.0 to 2.4 version.
I've correctly configured all the parameters and services.
But the problem occured with JMS vendor, this is the error shown:

I had the same problem. I don't know exactly what happened, but my problems went away after I manually cleared the cache using
rm -rf app/cache/prod/*
Considering your settings are on Windows, try manually deleting entries at app\cache\prod using Windows Explorer. I couldn't use app/console cache:clear --env=prod since the console would crash after showing that error message.
Another correct answer could be checking every service.yml in yml parser, for example http://yaml-online-parser.appspot.com
You have requested a non-existent service
could mean, that symfony can't parse correctly .yml files.
This means your the mentioned parameter is missing from your app/config/parameters.yml or other alike file that you are using to store your parameters. Set this parameter to a value and it should work.
E.G. I had the same error being "You have requested a non-existent parameter "domain".
I then added following line to the parameters.yml file:
domain: example.com
That did the trick.
