Service Provider: Godaddy
CMS: Wordpress
Maximum Database Size Allowed: 1GB
Recently i got message from my hosting provider saying that my shared hosting database maximum size could be 1GB only, and they want me reduce the size of database for not closing the database because of the over-sized database voilation it. If i can't reduce it then they are asking to shift it to VPS. But VPS is too expensive for me, also, i don't want to change my website IP Address, that will happen if i switch to any other service provider or even to a VPS. Because ppl say that changing IP Address, affects SEO.
Now what i want to know, if it possible to use WordPress with two databases, as i am having more free databases with this service provider, and have almost 20 more databases. So if i could keep one database as my previous one and another one as new, this will solve my problem.
But is that possible?

You can do it using HyperDB.
More information can be found here:
https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/11154/split-wp-install-between-2-databases

But is that possible?
It's kind of possible, but you'd have to set up a completely new Wordpress install.
It's not possible to connect the same WP install to two databases.

I have a website that I am building that is coded in PHP and I use MySQL for the database, I am also using node.js for most everything, so my website cannot exist without it for the most part.
I have been with a small company (One that a friend of mine started up) and they have given me cheap VPS hosting, and they even setup everything on the server that I needed done (because I have no clue how to set up a server myself) I currently pay $15 per month for hosting, and would not want to pay anymore than that at this time. (As my website is still in development, so it's just for my own personal usage and sharing among some friends for testing and such).
I need a relatively cheap hosting provider that gives me basically 100% control of the server (as I have many needs that usually are not part of packages), and I would also like to be able to have them (or someone) set up the server for me.
why not just sign up amazon ec2 free for one year Here

I currently deploy my sites on shared hosting, it's cheap and has control panels and help etc.
I've been looking at a VPS server and understand I will have full control etc etc.
Is it easy to make a switch to VPS - do I need to install everything from scratch eg mysql, php, control panel etc. I'm a bit worried about that sort of thing.
ONe of my main reasons for changing is that I want to dip into zend and other frameworks. ON my current shared host (hostpapa) I can change the php.ini settings. Is VPS a step to far?
My sites are not over intensive
Ta
If it's a managed VPS then you don't have to worry about the installation, but if it is unmanaged then you would have to worry on alot of thing, not only security but also optimization. If you're not consuming the whole b/w of your account and you don't really that much of freedom then you sure can stay in your shared host.

I just got my first vps which i will use for an online game. However, I have only worked with normal webhost so far (with control panel, mysql, php, phpmyadmin already installed), and I have no idea what to do now. The only thing I have is the ip adress, username and password to the vps.
I would like to have some kind of control panel to login to see some stats, phpmyadmin to control the mysql database, and the ability to upload and store the .php files thats talks with the mysql db. I read a little about LAMP (apache), is that good?
Where do I start?
Many thanks
VPS os is debian 6.
Im using a mac
Linode library and Slicehost articles are good places to start.
perhaps check out webmin (http://www.webmin.com/) for a control panel, and howtoforge (http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_debian_lamp_server) - there are tons of tutorials out there to get you started (google is your friend), and no one simple answer. NARKOZ suggestions are very good too.

I have a problem, My site starts lagging at random times, the server shows no signs of CPU load or hard disk swapping during I/O, I just upgraded the server (768 Linode) yet the site lags, anyone in the field have any idea of what could be the cause? I am leaning towards increasing PHP's memory access limits but I don't think it's the cause.
I am using nginx, the access log size is like 600MBs should I disable that?
What else could be the cause? I mean my site is small right now but it's facing terrible slow downs.
Edit: I am running on VPS Linode 768, No memcache only MySQL and PHP, Lagging is like the site does not load, a page takes like 24-50 seconds to load.

Maybe your scripts uses some API through HTTP - try to add
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
as FIRST lines into /etc/resolve.conf file to reduce time of resolving domains. It was solution for me once (I use Linode too).

I was looking for a good mysql and php hosting service that allows more then 1GB MySQL databases for a cheap price and great service. can some one give some suggestions
Go for a VPS. They don't limit on MySQL. You can have the database as large as your assigned disk space. Following are awesome and cheap VPS providers:
Virpus
VPSLatch
Try finding coupon codes and you will save around 30% in this holiday season :). Both accept PayPal.
I highly recommend totalchoicehosting.com. I've had multi-gig databases on their shared hosting before, but I'm guessing you want dedicated. Either way, I have used them for 6 years, and they are quite reliable and cheap.
