I need to maintain a project for another person. This project connects PHP with Oracle, but when I set it up on Redhat, the system shows this error:
Call to undefined function oci_connect() in ...
I think I'm missing OCI8 extention and need to install it.
I read and tried this link, but I can't run yum install php-devel because Redhat shows that I do not have this package.

We're using a MSSQL db at work and I want to be able to write PHP scripts that fetches data directly from the db to my local MAMP environment. I've tried installing pdo_sqlsrv and sqlsrv using Homebrew and I've tried compiling the extensions on my own using PECL commands, but in both cases it has ended unsuccessfully with the error message:
fatal error: 'sql.h' file not found
I've been googling this problem all day and can't seem to find a solution that I can get to work/understand. I'd be grateful for any help or hints.
Computer: Macbook Pro 2018 (macOS 10.13.6)
Local environment: MAMP PRO 4.5 (PHP version: 7.2.1)
I found the solution here: https://github.com/Microsoft/msphpsql/issues/198
I was missing tools provided by unixodbc, so:
brew install unixodbc
...provided the .h file(s) I was missing. The PECL installer was then able to locate the required libraries. In case it wouldn't have worked, I would have tried:
sudo CXXFLAGS="-I/usr/local/opt/unixodbc/include" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib" pecl install pdo_sqlsrv
sudo CXXFLAGS="-I/usr/local/opt/unixodbc/include" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib" pecl install sqlsrv
...as suggested in the link.
I already have PHP 5.4 installed in a CentOS 7 VPS. I am trying now to access a legacy database in .mdb format with a PHP script.
However, my phpinfo() page says that only mysql and sqlite PDO drivers are enabled. No driver named ODBC is enabled.
Which is why I have tried to follow this tutorial to get that to work. But it doesn't work. bash: ./configure: No such file or directory.
I don't know from which folder I have to run the commands listed there. Is there a command which will allow me to install the PDO ODBC drivers from the system e.g. yum -y install php_odbc which would be easier for me to work with? If not, what am I doing wrong?
Looks like php_odbc is one of CentOS 7 packages.
See http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64/Packages/ it is a very long list.
So yum -y install php_odbc should work. Just don't forget to restart your web-server if required.
You would run ./configure ... if you were compiling PHP from source. It will not work in your case.
So I have already installed Apache2 and Mysql on Linux Mint (the same as Ubuntu), Now I am trying to install PHP on Apache but I get a very strange error message :
configure: error: Cannot find php_pdo_driver.h.
I did some search on the Internet and I found out that these files were not embedded before in PHP, but they are now. I even checked for it myself in the PHP source folders and I found that specific file. Can anyone tell me what's the problem and how to solve it ?
actually PDO is included on PHP core.
You must install the PHP and MySQL bundled packages.
Use sudo apt-get install php5-mysql
you should check your php version, you must have php version 5 to load PDO.
I get this error when i try to run following command
sudo pecl install mongo
Error:
...php_mongo.c:22:10: fatal error: 'php.h'
file not found
#include <php.h>

1 error generated.
make: *** [php_mongo.lo] Error 1

I am new to MAC, please help me to resolve this and get Mongo Working with PHP.
I have installed MacPorts and autoconf
It seems, that you did not install the xampp "Developer Package", required to build additional php extension. You can download the "Developer Package" from:
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-macosx.html#849
This has already been answered.
Please follow the processes outlined in this answer - Install PECL on Mac OS X 10.6.
I followed the process outlined here http://akrabat.com/php/setting-up-php-mysql-on-os-x-10-7-lion/, referenced by the above Stackoverflow link and the process for install pear, followed by pecl and subsequently -
sudo pecl install mongo
works perfectly on OSX Lion.
You may need to modify the extensions in /etc/php.ini, however, this is explained in the output after you install the php mongo driver.
It took me the whole day to find this answer, I had tried everything, but this worked finally:
sudo C_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/local/opt/openssl/include /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/pecl install mongodb
I found this article very helpful. Saved a lot of time after I wasted a lot of time to check other links. I did for MAMP and think will work for XAMPP too.
The thing is MAMP does not ship with all PHP sources to compile pecl mongo file and create mongo.so. All what you need is download php for respective version you are using. I was using php version 5.6.10. I checked php.net site that was having 5.6.13 version. I downloaded sources for this version from PhP.net. Executed "sudo pecl install mongo" again and it worked.
I installed unixODBC by using apt-get install, and now when I try to use odbc_connect() is still get this error.
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function odbc_connect()
what do i need to do to configure it to work with php? I have been looking online but I can't really figure it out.
I think you need to install php5-odbc also. unixODBC provides the driver manager, but you need the PHP code that calls it.
Had the same issue on CentOS 6.3 with PHP 5.3.16. But the fix was to use yum to install php-odbc.
yum install php-odbc
Did you add it to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH? Check the documentation for your server, it may require third-party libraries to be in a specific sub-directory, or have some other mechanism for finding them. If so, you should be able to create a symbolic link to the library. That way, if it gets updated, your server will automatically use it.
We had this problem also. We installed php5-odbc, and still had the problem. Turns out we needed to reboot Linux for php to see the function. Recycling Apache was not enough!
Make sure to enable odbc extension for your Apache by a2enmod odbc.
Then check if exists by: apache2ctl -M.
If you don't have this extension, install via apt-get install php-odbc (use yum in case of CentOS).
