I am new in WordPress. I installed plugin "html-on-pages". This plugin add ".html" after page name in URL.
I added some pages in my WordPress project.
I want to remove '.html' in some conditions for some pages. I try to get name of page using $wp_rewrite of WordPress but not found any way.
Please suggest any way that return name of page or any function of WordPress that will return name of page.
Try this
$page_name = basename(get_permalink());

I am trying to create a shortcode from a page that currently resides in the back end. The page has several acf fields as part of a form that creates a request. I would now like to have the same page on the front end. I have tried following the syntax of creating a shortcode from a function after reading about shortocdes, its api and doc and several different tuts online.
add_shortcode('create_requests', array($this, 'load_custom_wp_admin_style'));
^ The attempt above didn't work and I don't get any output when I include the shortcode in a new page.
You can notice that the function I am trying to use 'load_custom_wp_admin_style' returns a null value and uses hooks.
This is the file that contains the function.
Try to include file like below code. I checked your file according to me you need use the plugin url it seems like you are developing the plugin
wp_register_style('your_namespace', plugins_url('style.css',__FILE__ ));
wp_enqueue_style('your_namespace');
wp_register_script( 'your_namespace', plugins_url('your_script.js',__FILE__ ));
wp_enqueue_script('your_namespace');
Assuming that the page you want to display on the front end is a normal WordPress page - created in the pages tab, post type page.
Very simply you can just use the following PHP code to include it in a template:
<?php
$page = get_post(192994);
echo $page->post_content;
?>
If it needs to be a shortcode you can add this into your functions.php:
function output_page_function($atts) {
$page_id = $atts['page_id'];
if (!$page_id) return false;
$page = get_post($page_id);
return $page->post_content;
}
add_shortcode('output_page', 'output_page_function');
And include a shortcode where desired (with 'page_id' attribute)
[output_page page_id=192994]
If it's not a WordPress page, but an actual wp-admin screen, then this would be significantly more difficult/not possible.
I send a special url to my users who want to register on my wordpress website. So, I want to send them a url with a variable invited=true appended in it like: http://example.com/wp-login.php?action=register&invited=true so that only those who have this url can register otherwise they are redirected to main page.
So if invited=true is in the url of registration page then go ahead, otherwise redirect to main website page. like:
if (!isset(GET('invited'))
redirect $website_name;
if (GET('invited') != true)
redirect $website_name;
//go ahead with the rest of the registration page code
where do I put this validation code? and what is the variable in WordPress for website name? so that I can put it in redirect instead of hard coding my website domain.
Please do not worry if someone else uses the url with variable, that is not an issue.
If you are using a theme you "own", like a custom theme or a childtheme, you can hook this function to the login_head hook from your themes functions.php:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/login_head
If you don't "own" the theme, this will be overwritten the next time you update and in this case you will be looking at writing a plugin, which is a fair bit more complicated...:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Writing_a_Plugin
Try this code in your theme functions.php:
add_action('init','redirectUrl');
function redirectUrl(){
if($_request['invited'] != true){
$url = 'exampleurl.com';
wp_redirect($url):
}
}
Does anyone know of a way to change the title of a page that is created dynamically in Wordpress? The pages in question are created dynamically via a plugin, and do not appear in the list of pages or Wordpress SEO in the admin section.
Here is an example of a page I would like to change the title of: http://www.forestlakechevrolet.com/inventory/New/
The inventory tool is maintaining the inventory of two dealerships, but only one is featured on this site. So it uses an SEO title based on the makes available at both dealerships.
Essentially, I am wondering if there is a function that I could add that would say "If URL is ... then force page title to be ***."
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thank you,
Jared Wilcox
Just use the wp_title filter
Add something like this to your theme's functions.php file:
<?php
function assignPageTitle( $title ){
global $post;
if ($post->post_name === "test") {
$title = "Title goes here";
}
return $title;
}
add_filter('wp_title', 'assignPageTitle');
?>
You may also need to change your theme's header file if the wp_title call is adding the Site Name.
BTW, WordPress questions are better asked on https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/
I have created html pages and trying to convert into wordpress theme,how to link html one page to other page in wordpress menu bar
sample code :
Features
this code is not working,it 's showing page not found.how to make this link in wordpress using php code.
Firstly Create Page "Features" from wp-admin.
Create template for this page.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Stepping_into_Templates
To set this page in menu Go in "Menu" section in WordPress.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen
To view this menu in fronted use wp_nav_menu()
Take example template from your theme.
This is file in theme ending with -page.
Change template name in head of a file.
Then remember about the_loop all should be inside a loop to work correctly with many pages.
Put html there, also in header.php attach css to this html.
Page structure is like, header in the up, then page and then footer.
Remember to preserve good html structure - divs beginning and ending.
Then you create a page with content ( which is presented in the_loop ) , which has its own url address.
You can set url naming of pages in settings -> permalinks, you may need to write to .htaccess file.
Then you have direct url to page. You can use it in code like this:
echo bloginfo('url'). 'nameofpage';
All to do is create a template and assign it to page ( on page edit page template option ).
You can use pages or posts for this, i prefer pages.
Create new pages or posts and get their ID.
For linking its:
Get link with this:
get_permalink( $yourPostOrPageID ); // only get; not echo
Otherwise
Wordpress homepage link:
get_bloginfo('home');
Category or custom taxonomy term link:
get_term_link( $term, $taxonomy );
i made a couple of php pages and integrated them into wordpress.
The first page is fine, but the second one show "page not found" on the title when it is loaded.
You can find the first page here:
http://www.stefanovirgulti.it/spese.php
then click on "Aggiungi Negozio" to go to second page.
code of first page:
(suppressed wordpress template code)
//if ( is_user_logged_in() ){
if ( true ){
$index=linkBuilder("Aggiungi Negozio",$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']."?p=1");
$appPath="./moneym/";
//$page=$_GET["p"];
switch ($_GET["p"])
{
case 1:
$page="negozi.php";
break;
default:
echo "this is the first page<br>";
echo $index;
break;
}
if ($page != "") include $appPath.$page;
}
else {
echo "This is a private page.<br>";
}
function linkBuilder($name,$path){
return sprintf("%s ",$path,$name);
}
(suppressed wordpress template code)
The code of the second page contains only an echo.
How do i fix this?
PS: the second page works, but if you check the title page, it says "page not found" and i can't change that, this is my problem.
How did you create these pages? Without looking at your header.php file I'll assume your using some sort of default code to get the page title. To create new pages in wordpress you need to create them in the backend admin panel. if your just loading in files, the wordpress enviroment will see this as a page that doesn't exist.
Solved!
I found the "page custom template" functionality. I just made a template with all my code, then used it as template for a wp static page.
I have done the custom template starting from page.php of my current template, took off the code that handles the content, and replace it with my php/sql stuff.
I have made a new page inside wp and used this custom template.
In this way i have a page that does what i want, but act as a real wp page, i can even add it to menus and apply whatever plugin to it. I left the title funcionality so i can change the title of my cutom page from wp admin.
THe reason for this is that one of your included phps includes a check for wordpress environment and displays that title when the condition is satisfied.
The solution is to use php to output "" tags before the included file is loaded.
