I have a weird issue with my PHP script. I have an array $keys that is defined at the beginning of the script:
$keys = array("name","date","event","location","address","description","link","linkname");
at some point later on I'm looping through the array, trying to print the keys:
foreach ($keys as $key_show) {
echo ($key_show);
}
And nothing is actually printed. I put a var_dump($keys) before the loop, and it seems the array is still populated with the entries from above at this point in the script. Interestingly, as soon as I put the var_dump there, the keys also showed up in the foreach-loop.

You don't close the form tag, so all $key_show values are treated as attributes of the form tag and thus never show up in your html output.
If you run this script on the command line, you will see the array values with or without the var_dump().
Besides, why you use echo "string" and echo ("string") all mixed?
Try without brackets?

I have a PHP session array where it can be counted as multidimensional array, basically I am trying to store data inside my session array and i am successfully obtaining that part of the task. The main issue is, I am not able to echo them specifically and I have to use var_dump. When I try to print them with echo i got an notice which says array to string conversion. Use join() function in your foreach, like this:
echo join('<br>', $val);
Or instead of
echo $val['prices'];

There is no issue with the code you have here. I don't see you trying to echo or vardump them directly so please show the code you are echoing them out specifically or the output from above and which line is giving you an issue.
If you want to echo each one out with it's price.

The echo will write several results of $a1 depending on how many were selected in the form.
What I want is to save those results to some values so I can add them in MySQL.
Something like this:

Then if I use:
echo "$result2";
it will give me the second result.
Not clear whether you are asking about this kind of result or not. But you can use an array to store each values inside the foreach loop.

Furthermore by echoing quoted variable will not give the value of that variable but gives a string literal.

The above code has two foreach loops, which are nested.
It should test every bing_array["link"] against every final_array["link"] and if they are the same, the final_array["rank"] value should be += bing_array["rank"] but when I echo final_array, the ["rank"] values are unchanged.
I assume this is a syntax problem, where am I going wrong?

You need to use the reference syntax (& prefix):
foreach ($final_array as &$final_array_val)
{
}
unset($final_array_val);
Note that the unset is required to break the reference to the last value. Read more here.

In your initial code, each time you were looping on $final_array, it was creating a temporary value called $final_array_val containing the content. Then, you modified it, and then it was replaced for each occurence of the foreach.
By passing the variables by reference, instead of creating a new temporary variable in the foreach, you use the actual variable which will keep the modifications you have done to it.
I think there is a problem when I echo $whereArray and orderByArray. If I type in a word such as "Question" and then submit it, I expect it to display in the echos "%".Question."%"; for both arrays. But instead in both echos it just displays "Array" for both echos. Does this mean that both arrays are not working when it comes to storing in the values?

echo() only works for strings. PHP converts your array to "Array" as a fallback.
When you're debugging, you should use var_dump(). It will tell you the type of the object and its content.
Use var_dump or print_r instead of echo (they are functions, not constructs like echo is).
An array needs to be printed out using a special function such as print_r. If you want to print out a value in your array try:
echo $whereArray[0];
To get the first element. Be careful because if the array is empty you will get an error.

As mentioned by others, you cannot do loops inside a string. What you are trying to do can be achieved like this:
foreach ($array as $element) {
echo "<a href='show_cls_db.php?id=" . implode('', $array2) . "'>{$element}</a><br/>";
}
implode(...) concatenates all values of the array, with a separator, which can be an empty string too.
Notes:
I think you want <br /> outside of <a>...</a>
I don't see why you would want to used $item[0] as a temporary storage for traverser array elements (hence renamed to $element)
Just use implode instead of trying to loop the array,
foreach ($array as $item)
{
echo implode("",$array2);
}
other wise if you need to do other logic for each variable then you can do something like so:
foreach ($array as $item)
{
echo '<a href="show_details.php?';
foreach($something as $something_else)
{
echo $something_else;
}
echo '">Value</a>';

we would have to see the contents of the variables to understand what your trying to do.
As a wild guess I would think your array look's like:
array(
id => value
)
And as you was trying to access [0] within the value produced by the initial foreach, you might be trying to get the key and value separate, try something like this:
foreach($array as $id => $value)
{
echo $id; //This should be the index
echo $value; //This should be the value

foreach ($array as $item ) {

No offense but this code is... rough. Post it on codereview.stackexchange.com for some help re-factoring it. A quick tip for now would be to use PDO, and at the least, escape your inputs.
Anyway, as the answers have pointed out, you have simply echoed out a string with the "foreach" code inside it. Take it out of the string. I would probably use implode as RobertPitt suggested. Consider sorting and selecting your data from your database more efficiently by having mysql do the sorting. Don't use as $item[0] as that makes absolutely no sense at all. Name your variables clearly. Additionally, your href tag is malformed - you may not see the correct results even when you pull the foreach loop out of the echo, as your browser may render it all away. Make sure to put those quotes where they should be.
