How do I display the "assigned template variables" inside a displayajax() function (I am using prestashop 1.5.6.0).
If you go to:
sitedomain/index.php?id_product=1&controller=product you see the product
but if you go to:
sitedomain/index.php?id_product=1&controller=product&ajax=true you see a blank page
to have some output in that page I added this function in ProductController.php and it works:
public function displayAjax()
{
echo "something";
}
How can I access all the "assigned template variables" that I see usually in the debug console of prestashop...like $combinations $groups...
Thank you!
The assigned template variables can be returned via the following code:
$this->context->smarty->getTemplateVars();
or if you need a specific variable:
$this->context->smarty->getTemplateVars('combinations');
the method getTemplateVars() returns those variables, so you may dump it with the standard function:
var_dump($this->context->smarty->getTemplateVars());
you can add this at the displayAjax() method.
You can also call the debug window if the debug param is set (by default SMARTY_DEBUG) so url like
index.php?id_product=1&controller=product&ajax=1&SMARTY_DEBUG
with the following displayAjax():
public function displayAjax()
{
$this->context->smarty->display($this->context->smarty->getDebugTemplate());
}
will popup the window.
public function displayAjax()
{
$array= $this->context->smarty->tpl_vars['combinations'];
foreach($array as $k => $v)
{
//some code
}
}

This is my previous question: How to convert a decimal $attribute['text']; into a fraction in opencart
I have a helper function that is declared in startup.php and defined in helper/dec2frac.php
I am trying to call the helper function from a category.tpl file with this code:
<?php if ($product['attribute_groups']) { ?>
<?php foreach ($product['attribute_groups'] as $attribute_group) { ?>
<?php foreach ($attribute_group['attribute'] as $attribute) { ?>
<?php /*var_dump($attribute);*/
if($attribute['name'] == "Adjuster Position")
{
//echo("<h1>HELLLO</h1>");
dec2frac($attribute['text']);
}
?>
...but I am getting this error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function dec2frac() in startup.php
helper/dec2frac.php
How can I call my helper function in the category.tpl file?
Do I need to reference the helper function in my category.php file?
I am trying to achieve same but in a different way. This following link will help, it will work with opencart v2.3x
Not able to find my custom object in Registry - OpenCart-v2.3.0.2
Try the above link (it is my posted question). Create a object and save it in registry and get it from registry and call the required function.
in your category.php file, get your object from registry. For eg:
$kt = $registry->get('ktLibrary'); //Object
$value = $kt->getSomeValue(); //function
object $kt will be available throughout the category.tpl file.
I am working with the save event but having limited luck.
I have currently tried two ways but to limited success.
1) I can either never get the function to fire,
2) I am not too sure what to pass into the function for method two.
All I am trying to do is to dump the event information out on content save.Any help greatly appreciated, really loving this CMS
Attempt One -- never runs the function at all
class Extension extends BaseExtension
{
public function initialize() {
$this->addCss('assets/extension.css');
$this->addJavascript('assets/start.js', true);
$this->app['dispatcher']->addListener(\Bolt\Events\StorageEvents::POST_SAVE, 'postSave');
}
function postSave(\Bolt\StorageEvent $event)
{
dump($event);
}
Attempt two -- what do I input as a parameter?
class Extension extends BaseExtension
{
public function initialize() {
$this->addCss('assets/extension.css');
$this->addJavascript('assets/start.js', true);
$this->app['dispatcher']->addListener(\Bolt\Events\StorageEvents::POST_SAVE,$this->postsave($this->?????));
}
function postSave(\Bolt\StorageEvent $event)
{
dump($event);
}
Hopefully my answer doesn't come too late!
You simply can modify the content and save it back to the database:
public function postSave(\Bolt\Events\StorageEvent $event) {
// get the content
$content = $event->getContent();
// get a field out of the contenttype
$data = $content->get("myField");
// now modify $data here
$data = "new data - what ever you want";
// set data to the content
$content->setValue("data", $data);
// write the modified content to the database
$this->app['storage']->saveContent($content);
}
Note that the function gets fired every time you save contents. So just add an if-statement like this to just modify content you really want to:
if ($event->getContentType() == "my_type")
The parameter needed is a php callback the format for this is something like this:
$this->app['dispatcher']->addListener(\Bolt\Events\StorageEvents::POST_SAVE, array($this, 'postSave'));
That syntax is saying to run the postSave method within the current class. So this would work with your example number 1.
Now you can dump the event in your postSave method and see the results.
I have a PHP file that can be include'd() in various places inside another page. I want to know whether it has been included inside a function. How can I do this? Thanks.
There's a function called debug_backtrace() that will return the current call stack as an array. It feels like a somewhat ugly solution but it'll probably work for most cases:
$allowedFunctions = array('include', 'include_once', 'require', 'require_once');
foreach (debug_backtrace() as $call) {
// ignore calls to include/require
if (isset($call['function']) && !in_array($call['function'], $allowedFunctions)) {
echo 'File has not been included in the top scope.';
exit;
}
}
You can set a variable in the included file and check for that variable in your functions:
include.php:
$included = true;
anotherfile.php:
function whatever() {
global $included;
if (isset($included)) {
// It has been included.
}
}
whatever();
You can check if the file is in the array returned by get_included_files(). (Note that list elements are full pathnames.) To see if inclusion occurred during a particular function call, check get_included_files before and after the function call.
I have the following function:
public function make_order($id = null){
if($this->request->is('post')){
if(isset($id)){
$single_product = $this->Product->find('first', array('Product.id' => $id));
$this->placeOrder($single_product);
}else{
$product_array = $_SESSION['basket'];
foreach($product_array as $product){
$this->placeOrder($product);
}
}
}
}
private function placeOrder($product){
$order_array = array();
$order_array['Order']['Product_id'] = $product['Product']['id'];
$order_array['Order']['lejer_id'] = $this->userid;
$order_array['Order']['udlejer_id'] = $product['users_id'];
$this->Order->add($order_array);
}
Now these two function are not "connected" to a view but i still need to call them from within another view
For this ive tried the following:
<?php echo $this->Html->link(__('Bestil'), array('action' => 'make_order')); ?>
However this throws an error saying it couldnt find the view matching make_order and for good reason ( i havnt created one and i do not intend to create one)
My question is how do i call and execute this function from within my view?
At the end of your make_order function, you'll either need to:
a) specify a view file to render, or
b) redirect to a different controller and / or action, that does have a view file to render.
a) would look like this:
$this->render('some_other_view_file');
b) might look like this (note: setting the flash message is optional)
$this->Session->setFlash(__('Your order was placed'));
$this->redirect(array('controller' => 'some_controller', 'action' => 'some_action'));
You can turn auto-rendering off by setting $this->autoRender = false; in your controller's action (make_order() in this case). This way you don't need a view file, and you can output whatever you need.
The problem is that nothing will be rendered on the screen. Therefore, my advice is to have your "link" simply call a controller::action via AJAX. If that's not possible in your situation, then you'll have to either render a view in your make_order() method, or redirect to an action that will render a view.
newbie in PHP here, sorry for troubling you.
I want to ask something, if I want to include a php page, can I use parameter to define the page which I'll be calling?
Let's say I have to include a title part in my template page. Every page has different title which will be represented as an image. So,
is it possible for me to call something <?php #include('title.php',<image title>); ?> inside my template.php?
so the include will return title page with specific image to represent the title.
thank you guys.
An included page will see all the variables for the current scope.
$title = 'image title';
include('title.php');
Then in your title.php file that variable is there.
echo '<h1>'.$title.'</h1>';
It's recommended to check if the variable isset() before using it. Like this.
if(isset($title))
{
echo '<h1>'.$title.'</h1>';
}
else
{
// handle an error
}
EDIT:
Alternatively, if you want to use a function call approach. It's best to make the function specific to activity being performed by the included file.
function do_title($title)
{
include('title.php'); // note: $title will be a local variable
}
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can create a function to include the file and pass a variable.
function includeFile($file, $param) {
echo $param;
include_once($file);
}
includeFile('title.php', "title");
In your included file, you could do this:
<?php
return function($title) {
do_title_things($title);
do_other_things();
};
function do_title_things($title) {
// ...
}
function do_other_things() {
// ...
}
Then, you could pass the parameter as such:
$callback = include('myfile.php');
$callback('new title');
Another more commonly used pattern is to make a new scope for variables to be passed in:
function include_with_vars($file, $params) {
extract($params);
include($file);
}
include_with_vars('myfile.php', array(
'title' => 'my title'
));
The included page will already have access to those variables defined prior to the include. If you require include specific variables, I suggest defining those variables on the page to be included
