I have two timestamps: one from time() function, other selects user in front-end. I need to compare this two timestamps, but ignore the seconds or set it to 00. What is the proper way to do this?
Had some time for an example:
$nr = 1111111122;
$nr = substr($nr, 0, strlen($nr)-2) . "00";
echo strtotime(date('Y-m-d H:i:00', time()));

In my database I have a entry_date that is set as a DATETIME type, how do I go about querying the database for a specific day? For example if I have a record with 2013-12-27 16:14:10
and I only really care that I'm getting the record where the 2013-12-27 matches.
Assuming MySQL, use DATE():
Extracts the date part of the date or datetime expression.
SELECT *
FROM tablename
WHERE DATE(datecol) = '2013-12-27'

How do I get and set a variable to the Eastern time zone and then use it in an "if" statement?
In one of my table I have a datetime column called gameEasternTime. Values are listed like so "2013-09-22 20:30:00"
I need to show a html div only if the Eastern time is after the time listed in my gameEasternTime column.
if ( $easternTime > schedule[gameEasternTime] ) {
echo ' <div> ';
}
Use date_default_timezone_set('America/New_York') and DateTime::format . Yes, those are links.

Can anyone help me out with this?

You need closing parenthesis on every line that has one opening.
Example:
move_uploaded_file($_FILES["thematicseniorphoto"]["tmp_name"], "uploads/" . $_FILES["thematicseniorphoto"]["tmp_name"];
should be
move_uploaded_file($_FILES["thematicseniorphoto"]["tmp_name"], "uploads/" . $_FILES["thematicseniorphoto"]["tmp_name"]);
EDIT:
Next time use a while() statement and find a pattern of text to search/use. You'll go from 700 lines to like...20.

I suck at regexp but i'd like to just do a simple filter where / is replaced with 1, " is replaced with 2 and < is replaced with 3.
I'd appreciate an example where the syntax would be straight forward, i'd like to run this filter through the input of a get variable provided by the user. A syntax like:
replace(/,1)
replace(",2)
replace(<,3)
.
Thanks.
I really don't see the need for regex here.. You can just use str_replace
E.g.
str_replace('/', '1', $_GET['var']);
