Nginx SERVER ENV not persisting with CName - php

Weird problem. In my Nginx vhost configuration I am setting variable such as ENV to tell PHP if it should act differently depending on the environment.
For example:
location / {
...
fastcgi_param ENV production;
...
}
And then PHP reads it like:
<?php
if($SERVER['ENV'] == 'production' {
//Do This
} else {
//Do That
}
This works normally. But when the site is accessed through a cname, it seems the ENV variable is no longer being read. What could be causing this?

Nginx + PHP-FPM redirect to static PHP file

Some details about my setup first:
I am serving a static webapp (HTML + JS) from default Nginx webroot
I have a PHP-FPM server running on localhost:9000
The destination file should be /api/webroot/index.php for FPM (always, no need to try_files etc.)
I need to forward all /api and /api-debug calls to arrive at localhost:9000, and the /app/webroot/index.php should handle all these requests.
I have the following working Nginx configuration:
upstream fastcgi_backend {
server localhost:9000;
keepalive 30;
}
server {
listen 80;
location / {
root /usr/share/nginx/html;
index index.html index.htm;
location ~ ^/(api|api-debug)/ {
root /app/webroot;
index index.php;
try_files $uri /api/index.php$is_args$args;
location ~ \.php$ {
fastcgi_pass fastcgi_backend;
fastcgi_split_path_info ^(?:\/api\/)(.+\.php)(.*)$;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /app/webroot/$fastcgi_script_name;
include fastcgi_params;
}
}
}
}
I just want to make it more simple and efficient, because as I see it now it's a mess.
I tried to adjust for example
try_files $uri /api/index.php$is_args$args;
to
try_files $uri /api/webroot/index.php$is_args$args;
and it failed... The only reason that it works is that /api/index.php includes /api/webroot/index.php, but I see it's inefficient.
I found debugging nginx config hard, because it's not easy to test.
Thank you very much for your help in advance!
The simplest solution would be to hardwire SCRIPT_FILENAME with a value of /app/webroot/index.php and remove one of your location blocks altogether.
location / {
root /usr/share/nginx/html;
index index.html index.htm;
}
location ~ ^/(api|api-debug)/ {
include fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /app/webroot/index.php;
fastcgi_pass fastcgi_backend;
}
Alternatively, to keep the flexibility of specifying a URI with a .php extension, you could simplify the configuration with:
location / {
root /usr/share/nginx/html;
index index.html index.htm;
rewrite ^/(api|api-debug)/ /index.php last;
}
location ~ \.php$ {
include fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /app/webroot$uri;
fastcgi_pass fastcgi_backend;
}

strange condition file not found nginx with php-fpm

I was working with this config from 2 years without any problem
sudenly I face not found error message from niginx
and its come only when the link has "?"
sample
domain/index.php?a=browse&b=category&id=1
if open the normal link, its working (without "php?")
domain/index.php
domain/[any other php file].php
site config (changed user info)
server {
listen *:80;
server_name domain;
rewrite_log on;
root /home/user/public_html/;

index index.php index.html index.htm ;
}
location ~*^.+\.jpg|jpeg|gif|css|html|png|js|ico|bmp|zip|rar|txt|pdf|doc)$ {

include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_script_name;
}
}
try to use ip change it from
server_name domain;
to
server_name serverip;
and test url
serverip/index.php?a=browse&b=category&id=1
you can check it else with ssh comand
wget localhost/index.php?a=browse&b=category&id=1
if work , check any firewall or any services like cloudflare

Configuring nginx with php5-fpm for joomla site

I'm trying to rise up web site on joomla3 with php5-fpm and nginx. It works, but only the main page. Other pages with .html extentions like this '/reports/april.html' aren't work, it returns 404 not found error. I guess something missed in my nginx config file, please give me a hint.
server{
server_name acbr.loc;
access_log /var/log/nginx/acbr.access.log;
error_log /var/log/nginx/acbr.error.log;

include fastcgi_params;

fastcgi_index index.php;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
}

How to correctly configure Nginx for PHP (Yii framework and Zurmo)

I am trying to setup Zurmo CRM on my local machine (Win8x64). After installing all the requirements I want to get started with the actual installation. The problem is that it seems the paths are not correctly passed from NGinx to FastCGI PHP. Here is my Nginx serve configuration:
server {
listen 80;
server_name zurmo.local;
root html/zurmo.local;
set $index "index.php";
charset utf-8;
location / {
index index.html $index;
try_files $uri $uri/ /$index?$args;
}
location ~ ^/(protected|framework|themes/\w+/views) {
deny all;
}
location ~ \.(js|css|png|jpg|gif|swf|ico|pdf|mov|fla|zip|rar)$ {
try_files $uri =404;
}
location ~ \.php {
fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(.*)$;
set $fsn /$index;
if (-f $document_root$fastcgi_script_name){
set $fsn $fastcgi_script_name;
}
fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000;
include fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fsn;
fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_path_info;
fastcgi_param PATH_TRANSLATED $document_root$fsn;
}
location ~ /\.ht {
deny all;
}
}
As a result, when I make a call to zurmo.local (which is added to hosts file) i get "This webpage has a redirect loop" with a URI that looks like this http://zurmo.local/app/app/ [...] /app/app/index.php If instead of $document_root$fsn and I comment the PATH_INFO and PATH_TRANSLATED than I get No input file specified. with a URI that looks like http://zurmo.local/app/app/index.php
Looking further into it, when I have added access_log html/zurmo.local/logs/access.log; the Nginx error.log shows me the following: [timestamp] [emerg] 4064#3660: CreateFile() "[path to stack]\nginx/html/zurmo.local/logs/access.log" failed (3: The system cannot find the path specified). As you can see the directory separator is not consistent.
One last note, my Nginx home directory is situated at nginx/html which is in fact a smlink to of ../home This is purely for keeping my file structure in a way that fits my day to day work.
How can I correctly configure Nginx in order to proceed (with the Zurmo installation) ?
I know this is an old question, but here is what I have done to make nginx + zurmo work.
server {
listen 80;
server_name zurmo.local;
root /home/www/zurmo.local;
access_log /var/log/nginx/zurmo.access.log main;
index index.php;
location / {
try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?$args;
}
location ~ ^/(protected|framework|themes/\w+/views) { deny all; }
location ~ /\. { deny all; access_log off; log_not_found off; }
location = /favicon.ico { log_not_found off; access_log off; }
location ~ \.(js|css|png|jpg|gif|ico|pdf|zip|rar)$ {
try_files $uri =404;
}
location ~ \.php {
fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(.*)$;
fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_path_info;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
include fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000;
fastcgi_index index.php;
fastcgi_read_timeout 600s;
fastcgi_send_timeout 600s;
}
}
I don't think you need the if() statement in your *.php block. In my nginx setups that's all i ever needed:
# Process PHP files
location ~ \.php$ {
fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(/.+)$;
# Include the standard fastcgi_params file included with nginx
include fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_path_info;
fastcgi_index index.php;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000;
}

Nginx config file isn't locating my Codeigniter/PHP app

I can't figure out how to make the Nginx config file locate my Codeigniter app. Serving PHP on this server is not the problem b/c if I put a php file in my root directory, I can echo "hello world";.
Here's my Nginx config file which is nearly verbatim from this tutorial. Note that I've manipulated many of these parameters and none had an effext so I'm wondering whether I need to look beyond this file to get it to work?:
server {
listen 80;
server_name www.mysite.com mysite.com;
root /var/www;
index index.html index.php index.htm;
access_log /var/log/nginx/access.log;
error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log;
location / {
try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php;
}
location ~* \.php$ {
fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000;
fastcgi_index index.php;
fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(.*)$;
include fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
}
}
I've been thinking all along this is a simple path issue b/c Codeigniter has a somewhat confusing routing structure but just can't see the problem with my config. Thoughts?
Everything up top matches what I have for a CI project, then this is my location config:
location ~ \.php$ {
include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params;
fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000;
fastcgi_index index.php;
fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name;
}
Not sure if by removing the wildcard * would help, or getting rid of the split_info param...
