My problem is i bought a shity hosting and now i can not set my own config.
I need to do it by .htaccess file.
Here is what i manage to do:

I know that this will not work with some website software like mine. and I also need to modify the $base_url, $live_site or other configuration settings in those to finish the process.
To make it all clear with this settings when i enter my domain i start from subdirectory i choose. but when i try to go to another page its return 404 error.
I have an idea how to make it work, its need to redirect also routing
so for example www.domain.com/page need to be redirected to www.domain.com/Project/web/page if anyone know how to do it ?

The root of my website is: /Users/Roy/Websites/CodeIgniter-3.0.2
In the Websites folder I also have some other project but I don't think that matters. Here is the apache httpd.conf file: http://pastebin.com/Am0ew0C0

I have no idea why the mod_rewrite isn't working, it's supposed to eliminate the use of index.php in the url because the URL I have to use now is: http://localhost:8888/CodeIgniter-3.0.2/index.php/about
And I would like that to become: http://localhost:8888/CodeIgniter-3.0.2/about PHP version 5.6.10 is used. the .htaccess file is not being read by apache, that is the problem here, how to fix it?
Problem solved, there is no need to mess with the httpd.conf with MAMP installed. Simply get CodeIgniter and place it in the htdocs folder inside MAMP. After that create a .htaccess file inside the CodeIgniter folder (not the application folder inside there) and use the following code:

Now you have clean URL's and no longer need to use /index.php/about but can just do /about.
It maybe from the fact of what you set your document root to /Users/Roy/Websites/ in your httpd.conf file. Personally I would use virtualhosts if you plan to have multiple websites so that each one can have it's own .conf and you can set the Document root specifically for each site.
Anyway, so right now your CodeIgniter-3.0.2 is a subfolder of Websites which is your document root. So most likely you're having a problem with the rewrite base.
If you have your files and .htaccess in the codeigniter folder, your .htaccess will need to look like this.

It look like file permission issue. check out the properties of your .htaccess file and change the permission.

2.Replace line 3 with the root directory name of your project, in my own case 'localhost/booking/'
3.Copy the .htaccess file from the application folder to the root directory. This means that you will now have to instances of .htaccess file in you entire project.
4.in your config.php , Base url should look like this in my own case
$config['base_url'] = 'http://localhost/booking/'

I have installed my wordpress installation on my server root e.g mydomain.com & codeigniter installed in subdirectory named ci e.g mydomain.com/ci. When I try to access my wordpress site it works fine, but when I try to access any of my ci controllers e.g mydomain.com/ci/signup it throw 404 Page Not Found CI error. but it worked fine for my default home controller. I have searched for solution & tried many of them but any one of them is not worked in my case.

I think the problem is with wordpress .htaccess file. We should have to route the request that is for ci to ci folder.

I'm trying to route all requests to /web/index.php (front controller) while serving static files directly if they exist.
The following .htaccess file was taken from a Symfony 2 application, and seems to work fine as it is. Requests are sent to ./index.php and I can access to static files like ./web/css/style.css. I'm working on a shared hosting (not a good one) and this .htaccess seems the only one working (this will cause a 500 error).
How can I have route all requests to /web folder? It seems that I need to change something in E=BASE variable, I've tried [E=BASE:%1/web] but it doesn't work.
I have a little understanding of rewrite rules, can you point me to the right direction?

For the static files it needs to be looking in your /web folder to check if the file exists. Currently the RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f just checks if the filepath requested exists.
Try throwing a RewriteBase command in before the RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f:

Let's assume that your domain is gremo_silex.com, and your hosting has directory for it like
~/domains/gremo_silex.com/public_html
(all hosting services I used last few years had directory structure similar to this).
Then you can place your Silex project one directory up (in ~/domains/gremo_silex.com) and rename your web directory to public_html, this way there's no web in your url's.
I encountered the same issue today. Normally the web host would allow you to change Apache's document root (my preferred method) but in this case it wasn't possible. So with some hackery I compiled this:

The REQUEST_URI header comes in to PHP without the /web prefix too, so routing should work out of the box.

I can get what I desire at the front end with the above .htaccess, but I can't get it working on my back end. Basically, www.domain.com/admin gives a 404 page not found error.
Please advice me on the problem. Also, please guide me on where I should place this .htaccess file? at the root? inside the application folder? or inside the frontend and administrator folder respectively.

Why not something like this in your root directory.

This will basically ignore any directories such as "admin" to route to the frontend application. You will have to set your config.php and remove index.php from the controller.
Found a way to work with this problem already. It is not a very smart way of doing it but it at least worked.
First, I created an 'admin' folder in the root, with a copy of the application's index.php
Which effectively make my directory looking like this.
-admin
--.htaccess
--index.php
-application
--frontend
--administrator
-index.php
-.htaccess
For this solution you will need to have two .htaccess files in different location.
For the .htaccess at the root, it should look like this.

While this works on localhost, it is noteworthy that it may not work on rented servers because the file system in your host may be different.

Otherwise all requests to that subfolder would be redirected down to wordpress.
Are you setting AllowOverride? According to the docs you need to allow FileInfo overrides for mod_rewrite.
