php loop through array with duplicate index - php

I am trying to loop through an array with duplicate indexes. But it only prints 3 times not all of them. I want to print all values in the array is that possible?
Here is my PHP code:
$data['Video'][0]['name']='a';
$data['Video'][1]['name']='b';
$data['Video'][1]['name']='c';
$data['Video'][3]['name']='d';
$data['Video'][3]['name']='e';
foreach ($data['Video'] as $video) {
print_r($video);
}
And here is the output of that code:
Array
(
[name] => a
)
Array
(
[name] => c
)
Array
(
[name] => e
)

Well, the duplicate indexes negate each other. So this is expected behavior. So when you set this in your code:
$data['Video'][0]['name']='a';
$data['Video'][1]['name']='b';
$data['Video'][1]['name']='c';
$data['Video'][3]['name']='d';
$data['Video'][3]['name']='e';
It really just means this:
$data['Video'][0]['name']='a';
$data['Video'][1]['name']='c';
$data['Video'][3]['name']='e';
The newer data assigned to the keys 1 and 3 overwrite what was previously there.

Please avoid duplicate entry of keys otherwise try this,
$data['Video'][]['name']='a';
$data['Video'][]['name']='b';
$data['Video'][]['name']='c';
$data['Video'][]['name']='d';
$data['Video'][]['name']='e';
foreach ($data['Video'] as $video) {
print_r($video);
}

PHP using key of one array to access same key position on another array

I've looked at a number of suggestions for this, and they seem to rely on array_combine() which unfortunately is not suitable, as they arrays need to stay separate for other functions.
The arrays are set out as per
Array ( [0] => 3 [1] => 1 [2] => 3 )
Array ( [0] => 194 [1] => 0 [2] => 452 )
When I read in the first array, I get the key as $key and everything works fine.
Whenever I try and access the second array the whole script just whites out the page.
I want the code to work simliar to this ...
$a2value = $a2[$key] => $value;
echo $a2value;
Then I can do SQL lookups using $a2value
Any help would be appreciated
Here Try this
let's suppose two arrays of same number of elements
$a1=[1,2,3];
$a2=[194,0,452];
//A Simple foreach
foreach($a1 as $key=>$a1value){
$a2value=$a2[$key];
//Perform Query here
}
Remember one thing number of elements of both array should always be equal or it will cause an error
If you aren't certain about the size of both arrays then replace the line with this code
$a2value=empty($a2[$key]) ? null : $a2[$key];
Hope this works !!!

How do I reorganize an array in PHP?

I am trying to figure out how to reorganize an array..
I have a multidimensional array(Ill call that original_array) and I would like to take the first array within original_array and set the values as keys in a new array. I also want to take the values of the second array in original_array and make them keys and then set the values of the third array in original_array as the values for those keys.
Here is an example of original_array:
Array (
[id] => Array (
[0] => 1
[1] => 3
)
[reward] => Array (
[0] => Movie
[1] => Trip
)
[cost] => Array (
[0] => 50
[1] => 200
)
)
Basically what I would like to do is look like this:
Array (
[1] => Array (
[Movie] => 50
)
[3] => Array (
[Trip] => 200
)
)
Is there a simple and elegant way to merge these like this?
I have spent hours trying to figure this out using array_merge, array_merge_recursive.. etc. And have search SO far and wide for a similar questions, but I haven't found anything that does what I am after.
I was able to correctly combine the 2nd and 3rd arrays in original_array with array_combine. But, I am at a loss as how to combine that result with the 1st array's values in original_array.
Thanks in advance to any help!
Well, the dirty way would be just use combine array functions like array_combine with the input:
$new_array = array_combine(
$array['id'], // parent keys
// combine chunked combined sub keys :p
array_chunk(array_combine($array['reward'], $array['cost']), 1, true)
);
There may be some incantation of array_*() merging functions that could produce what you're looking for, but it is far easier to just iterate over the original array's [id] sub-array and use its values to create new sub-array keys in a different output array.
// To hold your output
$output = array();
// Iterate the original array's [id] sub-array
foreach ($original['id'] as $idxkey => $newkey) {
// Add a sub-array using $newkey to the output array
$output[$newkey] = array(
// Using the index (not value), retrieve the corresponding reward
// value to use as the new array key
// and corresponding cost to use as the new subarray value
$original['reward'][$idxkey] => $original['cost'][$idxkey]
);
}
Here is a demonstration: https://3v4l.org/2pac3
This should work for you:
First you can get the keys for the main array into a separate variable with array_shift(), which will just remove the first element from your array, which is the array holding the keys.
Then use array_map() to loop through both of your subArrays and use reward as key with the cost values as value and return it in an array. At the end you just have to array_combine() your keys $keys with the new created array.
Code:
<?php
$keys = array_shift($arr);
$result = array_combine($keys, array_map(function($k, $v){
return [$k => $v];
}, $arr["reward"], $arr["cost"]));
print_r($result);
?>
You might wanna take a look at BaseArrayHelper from Yii 2.0 Framework.
Although this file is part of a framework it has only very few dependencies and you should be able to use just this file or parts of it in your code with small modifications.
An example for your use case can be found in the index() method.

how to get value from array with 2 keys

i have array like
Array
(
[1] => Array
(
[user_info] => Array
(
[id] => 1
[name] => Josh
[email] => u0001#josh.com
[watched_auctions] => 150022 150031
)
[auctions] => Array
(
[150022] => Array
(
[id] => 150022
[title] => Title of auction
[end_date] => 2013-08-28 17:50:00
[price] => 10
)
[150031] => Array
(
[id] => 150031
[title] => Title of auction №
[end_date] => 2013-08-28 16:08:03
[price] => 10
)
)
)
so i need put in <td> info from [auctions] => Array where is id,title,end_date but when i do like $Info['id'] going and put id from [user_info] when i try $Info[auctions]['id'] there is return null how to go and get [auctions] info ?
Try:
foreach( $info['auctions'] as $key=>$each ){
echo ( $each['id'] );
}
Or,
foreach( $info as $key=>$each ){
foreach( $each['auctions'] as $subKey=>$subEach ){
echo ( $subEach['id'] );
}
}
Given the data structure from your question, the correct way would be for example:
$Info[1]['auctions'][150031]['id']
$array =array();
foreach($mainArray as $innerArray){
$array[] = $innerArray['auctions'];
}
foreach($array as $key=>$val){
foreach($val as $k=>$dataVal){
# Here you will get Value of particular key
echo $dataVal[$k]['id'];
}
}
Try this code
Your question is a bit malformed. I don't know if this is due to a lacking understanding of the array structure or just that you had a hard time to explain. But basically an array in PHP never has two keys. I will try to shed some more light on the topic on a basic level and hope it helps you.
Anyway, what you have is an array of arrays. And there is no difference in how you access the contents of you array containing the arrays than accessing values in an array containing integers. The only difference is that what you get if you retrieve a value from your array, is another array. That array can you then in turn access values from just like a normal array to.
You can do all of this in "one" line if you'd like. For example
echo $array[1]["user_info"]["name"]
which would print Josh
But what actually happens is no magic.
You retrieve the element at index 1 from your array. This happens to be an array so you retrieve the element at index *user_info* from that. What you get back is also an array so you retrieve the element at index name.
So this is the same as doing
$arrayElement = $array[1];
$userInfo = $arrayElement["user_info"];
$name = $userInfo["name"];
Although this is "easier" to read and debug, the amount of code it produces sometimes makes people write the more compact version.
Since you get an array back you can also do things like iterating you array with a foreach loop and within that loop iterate each array you get from each index within the first array. This can be a quick way to iterate over multidimensional array and printing or doing some action on each element in the entire structure.

php remove duplicates based on first value of multidimensional array

Given
[0] => Array
(
[0] => ask.com
[1] => 2320476
)
[1] => Array
(
[0] => amazon.com
[1] => 1834593
)
[2] => Array
(
[0] => ask.com
[1] => 1127456
)
I need to remove duplicate values solely based on first value, regardless of what any other subsequent values may be. Notice [0][1] differs from [2][1] yet I consider this as a duplicate because there are two matching first values. The other data is irrelevant and shouldn't be considered in comparison.
Try this, assuming that $mainArray is the array you have.
$outputArray = array(); // The results will be loaded into this array.
$keysArray = array(); // The list of keys will be added here.
foreach ($mainArray as $innerArray) { // Iterate through your array.
if (!in_array($innerArray[0], $keysArray)) { // Check to see if this is a key that's already been used before.
$keysArray[] = $innerArray[0]; // If the key hasn't been used before, add it into the list of keys.
$outputArray[] = $innerArray; // Add the inner array into the output.
}
}
print_r($outputArray);

Navigating a multidimensional array with dynamic

I'm trying to figure out why it is that I cannot access the follow array with this statement:
var_dump($thevar[0]['product_id']);
Array
(
[d142d425a5487967a914b6579428d64b] => Array
(
[product_id] => 253
[variation_id] =>
[variation] =>
[quantity] => 1
[data] => WC_Product Object
(
[id] => 253
[product_custom_fields] => Array
(
[_edit_last] => Array
(
[0] => 1
)
[_edit_lock] => Array
(
[0] => 1345655854:1
)
[_thumbnail_id] => Array
(
[0] => 102
)
I can, however, access the 'product_id' using the dynamically created array name:
print_r($thevar['d142d425a5487967a914b6579428d64b']['product_id']);
The issue is, I don't know what that dynamic name is going to be on the fly...
There are several options for such scenarios.
Manually iterate over the array
You can use reset, next, key and/or each to iterate over the array (perhaps partially).
For example, to grab the first item regardless of key:
$item = reset($thevar);
Reindex the array
Sometimes it's just convenient to be able to index into the array numerically, and a small performance hit is not a problem. In that case you can reindex using array_values:
$values = array_values($thevar);
$item = $values[0]; // because $values is numerically indexed
Iterate with foreach
This would work for a single value as well as it works for more, but it might give the wrong impression to readers of the code.
foreach($thevar as $item) {
// do something with $item
}
If the array key is dynamic you might find the PHP function array_keys() useful.
It will return an array of the keys used in an array. You can then use this to access a particular element in the array.
See here for more:
http://php.net/manual/en/function.array-keys.php
Because PHP array are associative therefor you have to access them by key.
But you may use reset($thevar) to get first item.
Or array_values():
array_values($thevar)[0]
Or if you feel like overkill you may also use array_keys() and use the [0] element to address element like this:
$thevar[ array_keys($thevar)[0]]
