I search for my website developed under Symfony2, what questioned table database of hundreds of thousands of lines 2 columns.
Currently I use FULLIndex and like it, but it takes forever to respond, as this search engine is the very keystone of the site.
It therefore I need a strategy to implement, technical or network to optimize this search on this table and others as large and multiple columns.
Thank you in advance !
If you have a big database and you want to search data in it, I definitely recommend you ElasticSearch
There is a good bundle for this here.
This bundle is maintained by FOS. It's very easy to make it work in a symfony2 project

I would like my users to able to chat with one another.
I currently use angularjs as the front-end and PHP in the back-end.
any ideas?
You should be looking at different languages for this. Node.js, MongoDB and Redis is a good start.
Also, just expecting people to give you code with such a vague request is not really in line with the spirit of things here. There are plenty of good examples online and a simple Google search would give you results like this https://github.com/joni2back/spachat if you're really keen on using PHP and Angular.

I am having table with 9 columns and 400000 Records. I am using php and mysql for database. The problem I am facing is it takes quite a long time to fetch the particular data or search the records. So can anyone please suggest me should I use other database or some twicks to do in database and also sugegst me the best hosting to handle this large records in my site.
this much record is not considered as a large data. What you need to do is make sure you have proper indexing in your table columns and most important to load only those data which are required. i.e. Implement paging.

I have a website run by php. I have about 80 users that will be signing up within a hour period.
my question is are there any problems that could occur when having lots of people accessing my database all at once?
I mean 80 users is a lot for me, and if some of you people that have way more than that are laughing at me, how many people would it take to mess up a database?
Thanks in advance!
You could use a tool like apachebench to check. Then you could use tools like memcached (or memcachedb if you needed persistence) to dial down the mysql queries. I would also set up mysql slow query logging.

You find a lot of info on this online. But not what the exact work around of the use of Algorithm is in MySQL. The real basics, if you will..
What a query is, is obvious, of course. What Algorithm does, remains unclear.
Main reason for this question is: to improve profiling & matching records to known users. (In this case: to match docs in a database to users that need them)
Some examples of the usage of it are highly appreciated!
Algorithm is a keyword used with create view in MySQL. The documentation does a pretty good job of explaining it.
The short answer is that MySQL supports two methods of handling views: either "merging" the view definition in the calling code or creating a temporary table. The first is called MERGE and the second TEMPTABLE. In general, MERGE is faster, but most views are TEMPTABLE because of the restrictions on `MERGE.

I am trying to create a site with a tiny CMS, the problem is that there is only php installed on the server.
The site will mainly consit of two pages the user page and admin page. On the user page there is to be a bunch of checkboxes which when checked will do some math(not the problem I need solved). On the admin page you need to be able to add the checkboxes and assing them their values.
My approach was to read and write to a XML file that contains the data instead of a database. I have run into a lot of problems trying to accomplish this, and I am looking for some good ideas for how it can be done, or alternatives.
Thanks in advance.
You can use sqlite as database engine. This way you also create a portable version of your application and by using PDO you could always switch to another database engine later on.
