this is my html table part.. popup will open when i click on my update button.
<?php
{
include("config/dbconfig.php");
$res = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM tbl_company");
echo"<table>";
while($row=mysql_fetch_array($res))
{
$s= $row['company_id'];
$r= $row['company_name'];
$a= $row['head_office_city'];
echo"<tr><td>".$r."</td><td>".$a."</td>
<td><img title='update details' alt=\"Delete\" class='del' src='images/update.png'/> </td>
<td><img title='make company inactive' alt=\"Delete\" class='del' src='images/delete.png'/> </td></tr>";
}
echo"</table>";
}
?>
<div id="toPopup">
<div class="close"></div>
<span class="ecs_tooltip">Press Esc to close <span class="arrow"></span></span>
<div id="popup_content"> <!--your content start-->
this is the kind of popup that i'm using
in this popup rest part of editing company details should be done. for that I need to get company_id.
How I get this $company_id value to popup page?
You can write it like you PHP code like this
<td>
<a href=\"#\" class=\"topopup\" id=\"update_comp\" onclick=\"return openPoup('".$row['company_id']."')\" \">
<img title='update details' alt=\"Delete\" class='del' src='images/update.png'/>
</a>
</td>
and in JavaScript you can write
<script type="text/javascript">
function openPoup(companyId){
window.open('/editcomapny.php?comapnyId='+companyId);
}
</script>
<td><a href=\"#\" class=\"topopup\" id=\"update_comp\" onClick=\"return callYourPopup(".$row['company_id'].");\">
<script type="text/javascript">
function callYourPopup(id) {
alert("Do something with " + id);
return false;
}
</script>

I have this form:
<form method="POST" action="search.php" name="form" id="form">
<input type="text" name="search" id="search" placeholder="Introduza a sua Localização">
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Pesquisar">
</form>
And what i would like to is when i press this:
<a onClick="">City</a>
The input value change to what i want in this case "City" and then automatically submit the form.
I already made a research about this and theres nothing i could take, any help would be appreciated.
Cumps.
Guys thanks to your help now its working but someone tell me please what the problem in this code:
<?php if (mysql_num_rows($tournaments) !=0){
do { ?>
<div id="mainContainer">
<div id="leftContainer"><img src="images/tournaments/<?php echo $row_tournaments['logo']; ?>.png"></div>
<div id="rightContainer">
<div id="rightContent">
<p><?php echo $row_tournaments['description']; ?></p>
<div id="galleryButton"><p>Entrar no torneio</p></div>
</div>
<div id="rightDetails">
<i class="fa fa-gamepad"></i> <?php echo $row_tournaments['game']; ?><br>
<i class="fa fa-calendar-o"></i> <?php echo $row_tournaments['date']; ?><br>
<i class="fa fa-pencil-square-o"></i> Sem comentários<br>
<script type="text/javascript">
function giveThatInputAValue(){
var elem = document.getElementById("search");
elem.value = "<?php echo $row_tournaments['city']; ?>";
/*document.forms["form"].submit();
*/}
</script>
<i class="fa fa-map-marker"></i> <a onClick="giveThatInputAValue()"><?php echo $row_tournaments['city']; ?></a><br>
<img src="images/<?php echo $row_tournaments['online']; ?>.png"> <?php echo $row_tournaments['online']; ?>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<?php } while ($row_tournaments = mysql_fetch_assoc($tournaments));
} else {
?>
<div id="noresults"><p>Sem torneios</p></div>
<?php
}
?>
Everything is looped fine but that part:
<script type="text/javascript">
function giveThatInputAValue(){
var elem = document.getElementById("search");
elem.value = "<?php echo $row_tournaments['city']; ?>";
/*document.forms["form"].submit();
*/}
</script>
Its not looping it only shows the first record why is it?
Any help would be appreciated.
in your js file you can check if the value of the textbox is equal to the cityname you want. if it is then submit the form. Attach the function to your a tag
function SubmitRightCity(){
if(document.getElementById('search').value == "citynamehere"){
document.forms["form"].submit();
}
}
in html
<a onClick="submitRightCity()">City</a>
In the case where you want your a tag to give the input a value, you attach a function to your tag, once the link is clicked, then the function will give your input a value.
<a onClick="giveThatInputAValue()"> City</a>
in javascript file you will have
<script>
function giveThatInputAValue(){
var elem = document.getElementById("search");
elem.value = "My city value";
//if you want to submit the form right after, you add the line below
document.forms["form"].submit();
}
</script>
I want to display a time in place of button when button clicked then
button fadein and time show in place of button but my script not
working button fadein only and time didn't show in place of button and
"Time shown when i refresh the whole page but not a particular part
refreshing."
foreach($leads as $val):?>
<tr><td class = 'account-name sort-value'>
<span style='float:left;width:47%;'>
<?php echo $val->first_name .' '. $val->last_name;?></span>
<?php
if($val->checkin_time != '') {?>
<span class = 'Dischktime' id = 'dischktime{<?php echo $val->lead_id;?>}' ><?php echo $val->checkin_time;?>
</span>
<?php
}
else {?>
<span style='float:left;width:26%;'>
<button id ='checkin{<?php echo $val->lead_id;?>}' class='btn btn-default' name='checkinbt' value='<?php echo$val->lead_id; type='button'>CheckIn
</button>
</span>
<?php }
?>
<span>
<?php echo $_SESSION['drivername'];?>
</span>
</td></tr>
<?php endforeach;
}
?>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$("[id=checkin]").on("click" , function() {
//$(this).fadeOut();
$(this).fadeOut('slow', function() {
//alert("it's working");
$("#dischktime").show();-------(Not working)
});
$('button').submit(function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
return false;
});
//alert($(this).attr('value'));
var lead_id = $(this).attr('value');
//alert(lead_id);
$.ajax({
method: "POST",
url: 'search_db_test.php',
data: 'checkinbt=' + lead_id,
success: function(data) {
$(this).html(data);
//$("#dischktime").show(data);-----(Not working)
}
});
});
});
</script>
You are creating element based on condition. When button is shown your Time span having id : dischktime is not created and thus its not available in DOM. Modify you foreach :
foreach($leads as $val):?>
<tr><td class = 'account-name sort-value'>
<span style='float:left;width:47%;'>
<?php echo $val->first_name .' '. $val->last_name;?></span>
<?php
if($val->checkin_time != '') {?>
<span class = 'Dischktime' id = 'dischktime{<?php echo $val->lead_id;?>}' ><?php echo $val->checkin_time;?>
</span>
<?php
}
else {?>
<span style='float:left;width:26%;'>
<button id ='checkin{<?php echo $val->lead_id;?>}' class='btn btn-default' name='checkinbt' value='<?php echo$val->lead_id; type='button'>CheckIn
</button>
</span>
**<span style="display:none;" class = 'Dischktime ' id = 'dischktime{<?php echo $val->lead_id;?>}' >**
</span>
<?php }
?>
<span>
<?php echo $_SESSION['drivername'];?>
</span>
</td></tr>
<?php endforeach;
}
Try Css Property
$("#dischktime").css('display', 'block') instead of $("#dischktime").show();
In a table I display several links whose value (user id) is extracted from a database. By clicking on the link appears a modal pop up in which I would like to pass the selected value.
Here is the table:
<table>
<tr>
<td>Username</td>
<td>Id</td>
</tr>
<?php
include ‘db_connection.php’;
$sql = "SELECT * FROM users";
$result = mysql_query($sql);
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){
?>
<tr>
<td><?php echo $row[userID]?></td>
<td>
<div id='basic-modal'>
<a href="?id=<?php echo $row[userID]?>" class='basic'>Show</a>
</div>
</td>
</tr>
<?php } ?>
</table>
If I click on the link Show appears the modal pop up:
<div id="basic-modal-content">
<?php
if(isset($_GET[‘userID’])){
$userID = $_GET[‘userID’];
echo ‘UsuerID: ‘ .$userID;
}
?>
</div>
This is the script I used
jQuery(function ($) {
$('#basic-modal .basic').click(function (e) {
$('#basic-modal-content').modal();
return false;
});
});
Since I have little familiarity with the jQuery framework I would like to ask you how can I pass the selected value within the modal and then use it.
jquery allows you to use the .data() attribute
<div id='basic-modal'>
<a href="?id=<?php echo $row[userID]?>" data-mydata="<?php echo $row[userID]?>" class='basic'>Show</a>
</div>
and then u can retrieve data from 'data-mydata' attribute:
jQuery(function ($) {
$('#basic-modal .basic').click(function (e) {
$('#basic-modal-content')
.text($(this).data('mydata'))
.modal();
return false;
});
});
I have this code inside a while loop for fetching data from the database. I want to show a confirmation popup when the Delete link is clicked.
echo "<td><a href='delete.php?id=" . $row['serial_no'] . "'>Delete</a></td>";
How can this be done?
Try out confirm function from JavaScript, learn jQuery as fast as possible and try to seperate javascript from html ;).
http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/met_win_confirm.asp
<td>
<a href="delete.php?id=<?php echo $row['serial_no'] ?>" id="a_id">
Delete
</a>
</td>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$('td a#a_id').click(function() {
return confirm("Are You sure that You want to delete this?");
});
});
</script>
add onClick attribute for anchor link and call the function on it. Or simply show confirm.
<a onClick = "confirm ('Are You Sure?')"
Complete Example
function disp_confirm()
{
var r=confirm("Press a button!")
if (r==true)
{
alert("You pressed OK!")
}
else
{
alert("You pressed Cancel!")
}
}
<a onclick="disp_confirm()"
try this
function DeleteClick(serial_no)
{
if(confirm('Are you sure to delete ' + serial_no + '?'))
{
alert('Data deleted');
return true;
}
return false;
}
echo "<td><a href='delete.php?id=" . $row['serial_no'] . "' onclick="return
DeleteClick(\''. $row['serial_no'].'\')">Delete</a></td>";
echo "<td>Delete</td>";
try this code,hope it will work-
<td>
<a href="#" onclick="conf("delete.php?id=".<?php echo $row['serial_no']; ?>.")">
Delete
</a>
</td>
<script type="text/javascript">
function conf(str) {
if(confirm("Your Message") == true){ location.replace(str);}
}
</script>
and in the delete.php page-just grab the id from url and run the delete query.
I'm confuse in this topic what should I do and How.?
I would like to have popup box which ask for the password before delete the user from the list. If Password(as some value eg. ex12345) is correct then delete the user If no then say Password is incorrect.
I have my PHP page with simple popup. I would like to have popup with the inputbox

Okay here is an example of what I think you are asking for:
I separated the js in the header so you could better understand. first one does the pop up box and second script does the ajax call. Remember this is a very basic example
Test.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.3/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
//select all the a tag with name equal to modal
$('a[name=modal]').click(function(e) {
//Cancel the link behavior
e.preventDefault();
//Get the A tag
var id = $(this).attr('href');
//Get the screen height and width
var maskHeight = $(document).height();
var maskWidth = $(window).width();
//Set heigth and width to mask to fill up the whole screen
$('#mask').css({'width':maskWidth,'height':maskHeight});
//transition effect
$('#mask').fadeIn(1000);
$('#mask').fadeTo("slow",0.9);
//Get the window height and width
var winH = $(window).height();
var winW = $(window).width();
//Set the popup window to center
$(id).css('top', winH/3-$(id).height()/3);
$(id).css('left', winW/2-$(id).width()/2);
//transition effect
$(id).fadeIn(2000);
});
//if close button is clicked
$('.window .close').click(function (e) {
//Cancel the link behavior
e.preventDefault();
$('#mask').hide();
$('.window').hide();
});
//if mask is clicked
$('#mask').click(function () {
$(this).hide();
$('.window').hide();
});
$(window).resize(function () {
var box = $('#boxes .window');
//Get the screen height and width
var maskHeight = $(document).height();
var maskWidth = $(window).width();
//Set height and width to mask to fill up the whole screen
$('#mask').css({'width':maskWidth,'height':maskHeight});
//Get the window height and width
var winH = $(window).height();
var winW = $(window).width();
//Set the popup window to center
box.css('top', winH/2 - box.height()/2);
box.css('left', winW/2 - box.width()/2);
});
});
