symfony2 requirements cant be met - php

Was trying to play with symfony2. If I hit the web/config.php of my symfony2 installation it shows me the following problems
Install and enable the mbstring extension.
Install and enable the intl extension (used for validators).
Install and enable a PHP accelerator like APC (highly recommended).
Install PDO drivers (mandatory for Doctrine).
I can understand that these are not mandatory ones but question is I fixed these in my php.ini file but still cant see any reflection in this page. Here is how I fixed the above problems
extension=php_intl.dll
extension=php_mbstring.dll
extension=php_pdo_mysql.dll
Didnt install anything for APC so no complain with that. Restarted apache server "thousand" times, but no luck.
Side Note:
I tried to figure out something from phpinfo(). I can see one discrepancy. The phpinfo is showing one of my old php directory path F:\Softwares\Development\PHP\php-5.5.13-x64. This path used to exist in my system PATH variable earlier. But I myself remove this location from System PATH variable. But it is still visible in phpinfo(). But if I print the PATH variable from command prompt or cygwin console, it shows the correct PATH variable.
Also ran php app/check.php. It shows everything OK except the APC, which is completely fine for me. But it also shows that "PHP CLI can use a different php.ini file than the one used with your web server".
Environment Details:
OS: Windows 7
php: php-5.4.30-Win32-VC9-x86
Apache: Win32-2.4.9 VC9
MySQL: mysql-5.6.19-winx64
Not using any xampp/wampp etc.
Few more hear left on my head. Please help.

Make sure that you have these extensions in your ext directory, if not search and put it in the directory (for windows extension file type must be .dll).
APC https://www.dropbox.com/s/hmnrgle8xing3fo/php_apc.dll
INTL https://www.dropbox.com/s/wm14zk0grc6pm6v/php_intl.dll (you also need ICU lib)
mbstring https://www.dropbox.com/s/wm14zk0grc6pm6v/php_intl.dll
PDO mysql https://www.dropbox.com/s/hd5cm02oti8qw3s/php_pdo_mysql.dll
Also, don't forget to restart apache after changes in php.ini

php.ini extension not found Windows 10 [duplicate]

I run a PHP script and get this error:
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/ixed.5.2.lin' - /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/ixed.5.2.lin: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
What does that mean?
It means there is an extension=... or zend_extension=... line in one of your php configuration files (php.ini, or another close to it) that is trying to load that extension : ixed.5.2.lin
Unfortunately that file or path doesn't exist or the permissions are incorrect.
Try to search in the .ini files that are loaded by PHP (phpinfo() can indicate which ones are) - one of them should try to load that extension.
Either correct the path to the file or comment out the corresponding line.
If you're on Linux, you can find all loaded configuration files by typing this in shell:
php -r "print phpinfo();" | grep ".ini"
UPDATE:
As mentioned in comments, this can be even more accurate:
php -i | grep ini
phpStom with XAMPP
TL;DR Except from verifying that the files exist, you might need to add the drive letter to some records in your php.ini file
I suddenly started having a problem using phpStorm 7 for debugging php with xampp and xdebug. When trying to set intellij interperter to be xampps php I got a lot of the warnings like the one in the question, for example:
Unable to load dynamic library '/xampp/php/ext/php_bz2.dll'
For some reason I had to add my drive letter to the records of extension_dir and browscap in the php.ini file:
extension_dir = "\xampp\php\ext"
browscap = "\xampp\php\extras\browscap.ini"
to
extension_dir = "e:\xampp\php\ext"
browscap = "e:\xampp\php\extras\browscap.ini"
If you just want to make the error disappear, and you don't need the extension, then by all means comment the line out in php.ini. But if you actually want to fix the problem here is some additional info.
There are various causes for this based on the exact module, but there are also some general guidelines.
Open phpinfo() and look for extension_dir under the Core section. This is where your modules should be located.
For instance, /usr/lib/php/modules for Unix/Linux.
If the file does in fact exist, make sure permissions are adequate.
If the file does not exist, use the resources below to install it.

Loading .dll in Linux
I've encountered this warning message while I was trying to install a php-extension via the php.ini file;
until I figured out that you cannot load .dll extensions in Linux,
but you have to comment the extensions that you want to import ;extension= ... .dll and install it correctly via sudo apt-get install php-...
note: ... is the extension name you want to enable.
php -r "echo php_ini_loaded_file();"
Will show in CLI current ini loaded file, search there for Your extension, path to it is incorrect.
In my case, this message started to appear when I updated the php version to 7.4.
To solve it I had to look for the php.ini files found inside the php version folder (/etc/php/7.4/apache2/ && /etc/php/7.4/cli/) checking the lines where the extensions I could see that the extensions gd2 and intl were uncommented.
Note that you can also get this error if your PHP library doesn't have the "other" directory opening permission. In my particular case, I noticed this when using php -l to syntax check a script in my text editor. This meant that since my account was called "volomike", that account didn't have permission to run the libraries that the php command relied upon.
For instance, on Ubuntu 14.04, I had PHP5 installed automatically into the path /usr/lib/php5/20121212+lfs. However, because I was working in C++ in building some shared objects, I messed around with the directory permissions and screwed things up such that non-root accounts did not have the directory execute (directory open) permissions to view /usr/lib/php5/20121212+lfs. So, I typed the following command to rectify that problem:
sudo chmod o+x /usr/lib/php5/20121212+lfs.
Now when I do php -l example.php as a non-root user, it never gives me this "Unabled to load dynamic library" problem anymore.
I had the same problem on XAMPP for Windows when I try to install composer.
I did php -v and php throwing error :
Unable to load dynamic library '/xampp/php/ext/php_bz2.dll'
It took me a while until I realized that I need to setup my XAMPP. So I run setup_xampp.bat and php return to works like a charm.
I had this error on a number of modules when I had been running different versions of PHP side by side on my server. To sort this out, I needed to install the packages it couldn't find for that specific PHP version. So, for example, if I saw:-
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/20160303/xml.so'
I would install the library for the PHP version specifically:-
sudo apt-get install php7.1-xml
And then restart Apache. Fixed it for me. You can check your version like this:-
php -v
I had the same problem on XAMPP for Windows10 when I try to install composer.
Unable to load dynamic library '/xampp/php/ext/php_bz2.dll'
Then follow this steps
just open your current_xampp_containing_drive:\xampp(default_xampp_folder)\php\php.ini in texteditor (like notepad++)
now just find - is the current_xampp_containing_drive:\xampp exist?
if not then find the "extension_dir" and get the drive name(c,d or your desired drive) like.
extension_dir="F:\xampp731\php\ext" (here finded_drive_name_from_the_file is F)
again replace with finded_drive_name_from_the_file:\xampp with current_xampp_containing_drive:\xampp and save.
now again start the composer installation progress, i think your problem will be solved.
What I did was;
1 - I first find out what version of PHP I am using thru the function phpinfo()
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
2 - From there you will find the location of your configuration(php.ini) file
3 - Open that file
4 - Comment out the line similar to the image below
This might be a different value but it should be related to extension.
I am no expert but this process helped me solved similar problem.
In my case I got this error because I downloaded a thread-safe version of the dll (infixed with -ts-), but my installation of php was a non-thread-safe (infixed with -nts-). Downloading the right version of the dll, exactly matching my php installation version fixed the issue.
After Windows 10 XAMPP now I installed LAMPP (XAMPP) on Ubuntu. Windows XAMPP had a lot less to configure compare to MAC (iOS) but now with Linux Ubuntu I had a few more since there are more going in Linux (a good thing).
I confused and activated mysqli.dll (and mysql.dll: erase "#" in /etc/php/7.2/cli/php.ini
I started to get the PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library message related to dll. I commented out mysql(and i).dll in the same file but the message didn't go away up until I commented out " " in /opt/lampp/etc/php.ini.
Looks like XAMPP reads php.ini file from /etc/php/7.2/cli and makes modification in php.ini of /opt/lampp/etc. (;extension=php_pdo_mysql.dll after ";" restarted Apache and no more any message.
I encountered a similar error. The mistake I made was to use the "controller" name as "Pages" instead of "pages" in my url.
In Windows, it could be a wrong path in "System environment variables".
"Path" to the php.exe directory must be the good one.
'C:/PHP/5.2.13/ext\php_mcrypt1.dll'
I'd say there's some typo on your php.ini (the extra 1). Perhaps you're loading a different php.ini from what you expect (see the output of php.ini to make sure).
Other than that make sure that php_mcrypt.dll and PHP:
Were linked to the same VC runtime library (typically msvcrt.dll for VC6 or msvcrt90.dll for VC9) – use e.g. the dependency walker for this
Are both debug builds or both release builds
Both have ZTS enabled or ZTS disabled
For libraries that depend on further libraries (DLLs), make sure they are available (e.g. in the same directory as the extension)
PHP should give you meaning errors if any of the first three conditions above is not satisfied, but I wrote those anyway because I'm not sure for PHP 5.2.
From C:\xampp\php\php.exe I got
Unable to load dynamic library ''
C:\xampp\php\ext\php_.dll (The specified module could not be found.)
I solved by commenting out
C:\xampp\php\php.ini
;extension=
I had the same problem when I tried to use php with sql server, when I added the sqlsrv libraries ... it gave me the error, after several days of researching there, I understood that microsoft does not support x64 in this case so what I did was install laragon x86 and use the corresponding libraries. I hope it helps with something
Go to system env variable and set the php ext dir path as
C:\xampp\php\ext
basically it's finding the ext directory and then locating it's file but it's unable to find the files becuase php path is set as different.

PMA error : mbstring is missing

I am running on Windows 7 64 bit with:
Apache 2.2
PHP 5.2.8
MySQL 5.1 (essentials)
installed and configured manually. As you all know, for this since MySQL essentials has no GUI for interaction the best suit is PhpMyAdmin. I am trying to get phpMyAdmin-4.0.10.8-english, downloaded from the PMA website, into my Apache web server.
After all configuration work, now I get an error message when I try to log into PMA saying:
"The mbstring extension is missing. Please check your PHP
configuration."
In this forum it was mentioned that possible causes for this are the unavailability of php_mbstring.dll in php folder or else the extension_dir variable in php.ini is set to ./ which is the current folder.
I checked in the ext folder and the .dll file is available and the extension_dir variable is set to ./ext. And I tried setting the variable to C:/php/ext which is the absolute location, still it doesn't work. Any help on this concern would be much appreciated!
Probably the mbstring extension is just not activated in php.ini. Look for the line
;extension mbstring = php_mbstring.dll
and remove the leading ;
Also make sure that you are looking at the correct php.ini since there could be more than one in your installation.

phpMyAdmin - The MySQL Extension is Missing

I installed everything separately (Apache, PHP, MySQL and phpMyAdmin) and do not use a compilation, everything works fine till now except phpMyAdmin.
The problem I am experiencing is, that the error message states that the "MySQL extension is missing", as soon as I try to call up:
localhost/phpmyadmin/index.php
And when I call up
localhost/phpmyadmin/setup/index.php
I have two messages where I do not know if it is supposed to be like that:
Bzip2 compression and decompression requires functions (bzopen,
bzcompress) which are unavailable on this system.
and:
Zip decompression requires functions (zip_open) which are unavailable
on this system.
Any suggestions?
At first make sure you have mysql installed properly. You can ensure it just by checking that whether you can access mysql using mysql command promp. So if you mysql is working then probably it is not loading. For that follow the steps given below
First of all, you must find your php.ini. It could be anywhere but if you create a small php file with the
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
script it will tell you where it is. Just look at the path of loaded configuration file.
Common places include /etc/apache/, /etc/php4/apache2/php.ini, /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini or even /usr/local/lib/php.ini for Windows it may be C:\Users\username\PHP\php.ini
Edit your server’s php.ini and look for the following line. Remove the ‘;’ from the start of the line and restart Apache. Things should work fine now!
;extension=mysql.so
should become
extension=mysql.so
For windows it will be
;extension=mysql.dll
should become
extension=mysql.dll
Some linux distributions have a php_mysql and php_mysqli package to install.
You need to put the full path in the php ini when loading the mysql dll, i.e :-
extension=c:/php54/ext/php_mbstring.dll
extension=c:/php54/ext/php_mysql.dll
Then you don't need to move them to the windows folder.
In my case I had to install the extension:
yum install php php-mysql httpd
and then restart apache:
service httpd restart
That solved the problem.
Just as others stated you need to remove the ';' from:
;extension=php_mysql.dll and
;extension=php_mysqli.dll
in your php.ini to enable mysql and mysqli extensions. But MOST IMPORTANT of all, you should set the extension_dir in your php.ini to point to your extensions directory. The default most of the time is "ext". You should change it to the absolute path to the extensions folder. i.e. if you have your xampp installed on drive C, then C:/xampp/php/ext is the absolute path to the ext folder, and It should work like a charm!
I just add
apt-get install php5-mysqlnd
This will ask to overwrite mysql.so from "php5-mysql".
This work for me.
Installing bzip2 and zip PHP extensions solved my issue in Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install php7.0-bz2
sudo apt-get install php7.0-zip
Use php(you version)-(extension) to install and enable any missing modules that is required in the phpmyadmin readme.
Your installation is missing some php modules, there should be a list of required modules in the phpmyadmin readme. If you recently enabled the modules, try restarting the apache service / daemon.
Edit: As it seems, there is no single "enable these modules" in the docs, so enable either mysql or mysqli in your php.ini (you might need to install it first).
The two messages are not important if you do not intend to upload or download compressed file within phpMyAdmin. If you do, enable the zlib and / or bz2 modules.
I had a similar issue, but it didn't help to add extension=mysql.so in my php.ini. It turned out that the mysql.so file was not in my extension folder nor anywhere else on my machine. Solved this by downloading the php source and building the extension manually and then copying it into the extension folder.
Just check your php.ini file, In this file Semicolon(;) used for comment
if you see then remove semicolon ;.
;extension=mysql.dll
Now your extension is enable but you need to restart appache
extension=mysql.dll

mysql is not enabled in phpinfo() of php 5.3.1

I am having apache 2.2.14, php 5.3.1 and mysql 5.1.43 installed on vista. I am trying since 2 days to configure php to have mysql enable on phpinfo().
I modified php.ini to have extension_dir = "c:\php\ext"
modified the extension as extension="php_mysql.dll"
added "c:\php" to the "PATH" environment variable and restarted the vista.
after trying many combinations of putting php.ini, php_mysql.dll and libmysql.dll in c drive and/or c:/windows and/or c:/windows/system32 now I am with no options!!
I do restart the apache after each modification. I used libmysql.dll present in mysql installation and that of older php version as php 5.3.1 has no libmysql.dll...
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
You have to edit php.ini and add/uncomment a line to import the php_mysql.dll extention. Search for ;extention=php_mysql.dll and remove the ;. If you find this line without the ; in front of it, you have another problem. If you don't find this line, add it without the ;.
You can also try to put a \ after the extention path: extension_dir="c:\php\ext\"
put php_mysql.dll in the "c:\php\ext" directory (and keep the extension="php_mysql.dll" uncommented [without the leading ;])
Make sure you've edited the right php.ini. In case of doubt
<?php echo 'ini= "', get_cfg_var('cfg_file_path'), '"';
will tell you which one is used by your php installation.
Maybe php tried to load the php-mysql extension and failed because of additional dependencies. That would cause a startup error entry in the error.log.
Which php-build do you use? The php-mysql extension can either use libmysql.dll as transport layer or the new mysqlnd (MySQL native driver) module. You've added c:\php to PATH. That's usually done in order to let windows find libmysql.dll (though it's not necessary, there are other methods which I prefer). If php-mysql depends on libmysql.dll and windows can't find it loading php_mysql.dll will fail.
But if you're using the php.net build of php 5.3.1 the mysql module uses mysqlnd:
Installation on Windows
In the official PHP distributions from 5.3 onwards, MySQL Native Driver is enabled by defaultThis module is built-in in the php.net build. You can test that by calling php -m in a command shell. It prints all built-in modules.
Thanks a lot to the user who said that we have to move the file php.ini to the folder /bin of the Apache server. it resolves me the same problem after more than one week of trying failed methods.
Of course we must uncomment in the file the two lines;
;extension=php_mysql.dll
;extensin_dir="ext"
by removing the semi-colon (;) and by specifying the full path for the extension library php_mysql.dll rather than ext as follows
extension=php_mysql.dll
extensin_dir="c:\Apache22\php53\ext"
For me I installed Apache in the folder c:\Apache22 and PHP in the folder c:\Apache22\php53, you must use your own values.
NOTE: Because mysql_ functions like mysql_connect() become deprecated in PHP 5.5 and above, it is recommended to enable also the library php_mysqli.dll to use functions like mysqli_ (improved version of mysql_ functions). To do that it is simple, you just have to uncomment the line:
;extension=php_mysqli.dll
in the file PHP.ini as follows:
extension=php_mysqli.dll
Update April 7, 2013. Installed Windows 8 on an i7 Quad, HT 8, 3.62GHz, 12GBRAM.. Installed the latest version of MySQL, got it functioning properly. Installed the latest version of Apache Web Server, got it functioning properly. Installed the latest version of PHP, got it functioning properly. MySQL could not connect to the database. The error message was "mysql_connect function undefined". I copied the modified php.ini file into the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\bin", and restarted Apache web server... then it all magically started working.!!! I hope this helps somebody with setting up their own Windows MySQL / PHP web server.
