I have a wav stream(not file) in php that comes from another server. When i want to save the stream as wav file. It does not play, the file is corrupted. Can anybody help me? The code is:
$file = "/var/www/sounds/soundFile.wav";
$handle = fopen($file, 'wb')
or die('Cannot create sound file: ' . $file);
//stream_set_write_buffer($handle, 0);
fwrite($handle, $soundResult );
fclose($handle);
I'm not sure of what you want to do, but ... Here is may-be what you're looking for :
//send file contents
$handle=fopen(dirname(__FILE__) . "/var/www/sounds/soundFile.wav", "rb");
header("Content-type: application/octet-stream");
header('Content-disposition: attachment; filename="test.wav"');
header("Content-transfer-encoding: binary");
header("Content-length: ".filesize(dirname(__FILE__) . "/var/www/sounds/soundFile.wav")." ");
fpassthru($handle);
fclose($handle);

i need a way to download a mp3 file while is converted from m4a to mp3.
I tried this code and it works, but, when i play the song it has wrong duration, if the song has 3 minutes length then when downloaded trough this function has 3:40 or such
set_time_limit(0);
$local_file = 'song.mp3';
$download_file = 'song.mp3';
if(file_exists($local_file) && is_file($local_file)) {
header('Content-Description: file transfer');
header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='.$download_file);
header("Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary");
header("Content-Type: audio/mpeg, audio/x-mpeg, audio/x-mpeg-3, audio/mpeg3");
$perSecond = 500000;
$file = fopen($local_file, 'r');
while(!feof($file)) {
echo fread($file, $perSecond);
flush();
sleep(11);
}
}
Is there any way to do this? Thank you!
perhaps use sendfile to stream the file instead? When using fopen for non-text files, specify binary mode with the b flag: fopen($path, 'rb').
I've made a page where you can go and write text in a "textarea" and then when you click download you download that file as a .txt file. I've done the same thing to some other extensions and that is working fine. But it won't work with .PDF, nothing I read works. Here is the snippet I use for the .PDF downloading:
<?php
if($fileFormat == ".pdf"){
$content = $_POST['text'];
$name = stripslashes($_POST['name']);
$nameAndExt = $name.".pdf";
print strip_tags($content);
header('Content-type: application/pdf');
header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="'.$nameAndExt.'"');
header('Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary ');
}
?>
I'm grateful for any answear, thanks!
// hold the filename for use elsewhere so you don't have to append .pdf every time
$filename = "$id.pdf";
// create the file
$pdf->output( $filename );
// set up the headers
header("Content-Description: File Transfer");
header("Content-disposition: attachment; filename={$filename}");
header("Content-Type: application/pdf");
header("Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary");
header('Content-Length: ' . filesize($file));
// push the buffer to the client and exit
ob_clean();
flush();
// read the file and push to the output stream
readfile( $filename );
// remove the file from the filesystem
unlink( $filename );
exit();
I would recommend a class like TCPDF, see http://www.tcpdf.org/. I used it couple of times and it's quite nice (open source).
I need some eduction please.
At the end of each month, I want to download some data from my webserver to my local PC.
So, I've written a little script for that, which selects the data from the DB.
Next, I want to download it.
I've tried this:
$file=$month . '.txt';
$handle=fopen($file, "w");
header("Content-Type: application/text");
header("Content-Disposition: attachment, filename=" . $month . '.txt');
while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($res))
{
$writestring = $row['data_I_want'] . "\r\n";
fwrite($handle, $writestring);
}
fclose($handle);
If I run this, then the file is created, but my file doesn't contain the data that I want. Instead I get a dump from the HTML-file in my browser..
What am I doing wrong..
Thanks,
Xpoes
Below script will help you download the file created
//Below is where you create particular month's text file
$file=$month . '.txt';
$handle=fopen($file, "w");
while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($res)){
$writestring = $row['data_I_want'] . "\r\n";
fwrite($handle, $writestring);
}
fclose($handle);
//Now the file is ready with data from database
//Add below to download the text file created
$filename = $file; //name of the file
$filepath = $file; //location of the file. I have put $file since your file is create on the same folder where this script is
header("Cache-control: private");
header("Content-type: application/force-download");
header("Content-transfer-encoding: binary\n");
header("Content-disposition: attachment; filename=\"$filename\"");
header("Content-Length: ".filesize($filepath));
readfile($filepath);
exit;
Your current code does not output a file, it just sends headers.
in order for your script to work add the following code after your fclose statement.
$data = file_get_contents($file);
echo $data;
I have to create one text file and make it downloadable without saving to my directory on button click.
Below I have mentioned code of my file that generate file.
<?php
$data = "ffff dfjdhjf jhfjhf f f hlm hoejrherueirybgb,nvbd;ihrtmrn.";
$filename = "SU_Project_Startup.txt";
$fh = fopen($filename, "w+");
fwrite($fh, $data, strlen($data));
fclose($fh);
header('Content-type: application/octet-stream');
header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="' . $filename . '"');
ob_end_flush();
echo $data;
exit();
?>
Can you tell me which changes still I have to do in this code?
Thanks in advance
Try this headers:
header("Content-Description: File Transfer");
header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=$file");
header("Content-Type: application/json"); // here is your type
header("Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary");
This is an example of taking pictures of the url
you can try it, or put it into function
<?php
header('Content-type: application/octet-stream');
header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="File-name.jpg"');
$fileurl = 'http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/cc/Ramses_II_at_Kadesh.jpg/120px-Ramses_II_at_Kadesh.jpg';
$data = file_get_contents($fileurl);
echo $data;
?>
I have gotten a problem about downloading .jpg and .avi files from a server using PHP
I have the following code:
$fileName = "Koala.jpg";
$filePath = "./Koala.jpg";
if (!file_exists($filePath)){
echo "No file";
return;
}
$fp = fopen($filePath, "r");
$fileSize = filesize($filePath);
header("Content-type: application/octet-stream");
header("Accept-Ranges: bytes");
header("Content-Length: $fileSize");
header("Content-Disposition: attachment;filename=".$fileName);
$buffer = 1024;
while(!feof($fp)){
$data = fread($fp, $fileSize);
echo $data;
}
fclose($fp);
The code downloads .txt file successfully and the downloaded file can be read.
However, when it comes to .jpg, the downloaded .jpg file cannot be read.
Can anyone give a helping hand? Thanks
Have just tried another method and it works fine
$file = 'Koala.jpg';
if (file_exists($file)) {
header('Content-Description: File Transfer');
header('Content-Type: application/octet-stream');
header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='.basename($file));
header('Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary');
header('Expires: 0');
header('Cache-Control: must-revalidate');
header('Pragma: public');
header('Content-Length: ' . filesize($file));
ob_clean();
flush();
readfile($file);
exit;
}
But just wonder what reason causes the first method fail, even though using fopen("xxx", "rb") instead. Thank you
Try replacing application/octet-stream for image/jpeg .
Regards
I'm no php expert (sorry to say) but I remember having a similar problem when using php on a Windows server. It stemmed from opening the file without the binary-flag (should be fopen($filePath, "rb"); in your sample). If you don't set that flag your data might be altered when you read it from the stream which could break your files (and you wouldn't notice it on textfiles).
See http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php for more info on the different modes available.
Try using this --
<?php
$filename = "MyImage.jpg";
$handle = fopen($filename, "rb");
$contents = fread($handle, filesize($filename));
fclose($handle);
?>
Instead of the following code that you are using,
$buffer = 1024;
while(!feof($fp)){
$data = fread($fp, $fileSize);
echo $data;
}
Just use readfile method
readfile($filePath);
