I have a project in symfony and apache, also, I have a web/images folder where I store some images.
The problem is that when I type the following url: mydomain:app_dev.php/images/myimage.png
I get back this error:
No route found for GET /images/myimage.png
Any other url works fine.
Why is this happening? why cant this just be like a plain apache website where you type in the image url and get it back?
Thanks
Links that use static content should not use app_dev.php or app.php. This will allow it to be retrieved as if it was a 'plain apache website' or what ever web server you are using.
This should work the way you want it to.
mydomain:images/myimage.png

I've got a legacy PHP project to fix a thing or two. I've downloaded it via FileZilla and served it on my local machine with a local copy of the database. The project is exactly the same with the live one, yet the live one can open the url/contact.html but on my machine it says no such file is found. All other pages go for url/categories/ or url/products/ so I've tried altering the url but no use.
All the other pages within the site are simple: one .php controller one .php model and one .tpl smarty template view. Requiring no .html at all. But this one is somehow different. The .htaccess file is exactly the same as the live version. I've tried adding a rewrite rule to direct every .html to .php but didn't work. I'm lost and out of options, please help? It doesn't even have to be an answer,"Try looking into that" would work too.
I'm working via XAMPP on windows, and I've configured the https:// to http:// on my project but that's all. Even hidden files are checked and confirmed.
have checked that contact.html is a static file (like a real existing html file?)
is there some kind of "routing" within the PHP of the project? If there is route urls might be really anyware.. in the mysql database, redis, a json file and whatnot.. have seen them all.
try to debug where and how it works on the "production" server by using some logging to a file edit the file through filezilla and log to a 'mylog.log' file until you find out what is going on.. or if the site is not used all the time by clients - you can just try to echo stuff to figure out how this exact /contact.html works
I am working locally on a webpage in laravel with wamp, everything is going smoothly except that my routes are not working I have watched youtube videos and exactly followed their instructions
Route::get('/',function(){
return view ('client-side');
});
this is returning a 404 page
also I have tried returning a simple echo with this code
Route::get('/hello', function()
{
echo 'hello man'
});
And this also returns a 404 page, I dont understand why this isnt working, ty in advance
You said you were working locally with WAMP. But you were not specific about how you were trying to access your website. So, I am wondering if you need to add public to the end of your URL. See, Laravel reads from the public directory. If you are using WAMP, then most likely you haven't don't have it reading from public.
So, let me give you an example. If you are using myWebSite as your directory from your WAMP directory, if you haven't set your hosts files, etc., then you would need to access your website like this http://localhost/myWebSite/public. Make sense?
Another way of accessing your website would be to use the built in web server. From a terminal window in the root directory of your project, type php artisan serve in the terminal window. You should then get a message that says "Laravel development server started: http://127.0.0.1:8000" so then you should be able to access your website at http://127.0.0.1:8000
Probably your problem is in calling url.
Image that your project in htdocs.So you should call your page likethis:
localhost/{YourProjectFolderName}/public/{route}
If you want remove public from url you should cut its content and past it in previous path and edit index.php file.
If you want remove {YourProjectFolderName} from your url you should edit config of wampp.
I have a website wrote in PHP and running with WAMP server.
I am wondering if it's possible to access a file using a different URL of than original path??
Actually I have a file in X:/wamp/www/test/test2/index.php and I use localhost/test/test/index.php to access it. But can I create an alias or something to use localhost/index.php ?
One way to do this is via Apache's excellent ModRewrite.
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/mod/mod_rewrite.html
I have been using "Delphi PHP XE2". The file structure has worked fine for over a year on the development machine and the production.
The folders are organised as follows.
src/app_login.php
src/add
src/css
src/js
src/fnc
src/db
src/images
etc.
I am just trying out PHPSTORM. The include files work fine. When I run it in Firefox it can find all images, JavaScript files, etc. But it can not find the CSS files as it is looking for them in
css
rather than
src/css
I haven't changed anything.
Why is the browser now looking at absolute path rather than relative?
How did PHPStorm manage to tell it that?
And how do I coerce it to treat them as relative paths?
I see that in the browser it runs it as:
http://localhost:63342/SRC/app_login.php
instead of
http://localhost:63342/app_login.php
I guess this the problem. How do I coerce it to move down one directory level?
I am trying to set up IIS, I think this might be best for later on. Here are the screen shots:
I configured the hosts file so that when I type wys.com in the browser it tries to run it and shows a blank page. If I type in 192.168.1.0 it just shows a blank page. View Source shows nothing. I was expecting it to run the index.html at d:\wys\src. Why is the browser not running it?
You are using PhpStorm's own simple built-in web server which uses URLs like http://localhost:63342/ProjectName/app_login.php. You cannot make http://localhost:63342/app_login.php using such server as it will not be able to tell what files to serve.
Either use your own Apache/IIS/whatever web server .. or the best you can get with built-in server would be http://ProjectName:63342/app_login.php(IDE needs to know what site/files to serve somehow). For that:
Edit your hosts file (or local DNS server, if preferred and have one) and point ProjectName to your computer's IP (e.g. 127.0.0.1).
Create Deployment entry of correct type (In Place should do), configure it (provide desired URL etc -- http://ProjectName:63342/) and mark it as Default for this project -- now IDE will use URL from there when generating "open in browser" URLs.
I currently have wampserver running and I'm trying to do live preview of a php file using Brackets.io. However when I click live preview I'm getting
Project settings for: Getting Started
Live preview base URL: ______________
I'm following this tutorial on running PHP scripts.
My php file is in C:/wamp/wwww/php_proj1/php1.php so I've been trying to put this in my "Base URL"
http://localhost/php_proj1/php1.php
However everytime when I type that and enter it, it just asks me for the "Live Preview Base URL" again and nothing happens. I also tried putting the URL in my 'File->Project settings' and that also didn't work. I'm just running a basic php script that echos some words.
It works when I manually type
http://localhost/php_proj1/php1.php
in my Chrome URL but not when I use Bracets live preview.
What am I missing or doing wrong? Do I need to config anything in my wampserver? I've just started learning php and using wampserver so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks!
EDIT: I'm following these 2 tutorials on doing this and it's just not working for me.
tutorial 1 and tutorial 2
EDIT2: Found my mistake.. I did not do File->Open Folder to open the folder that I was working on... Thanks to everyone that helped me with this, I will definitely not make this mistake again. sigh
The Live Preview Base Url should be set to the same url that you would use to launch your project in a browser.
So if you have a project in C:/wamp/wwww/php_proj1/ you would launch that project in a browser by entering http://localhost/php_proj1/php1.php therefore that is what Brackets is expecting to be entered into the Base Url field minus the actual script file name.
Remember the DocumentRoot of localhost is pointing to the folder C:/wamp/www/
So enter
http://localhost/php_proj1/
into the dialog that requests the Base Url.
Assuming you are editing the file php1.php at the time you clicked the Live Preview icon that is the script that will be run in the browser.
Oh and of course you have to have WAMPServer and therefore Apache up and running when you do this as it is running the code through Apache so that the PHP code can be interpreted.
Found my mistake. I did not do File->Open Folder to open the folder that I was working on...
Try the same thing but with a simple HTML file.
Try launching your project with PHP's built-in server. Open a terminal/cmd window and go to the folder php_proj1. Now execute php -S localhost:8000. Now set your Live preview path to http://localhost:8000/. If this one does work, then there may be a problem with Wamp.
Now remember that no matter what, you're not supposed to contain a file in the Live Preview path, but only a folder path. When you contain it, you get to this URL: http://server/file.php/file.php (double) and that's not exactly what you want...
If none of these work - there may be a problem with either your computer, Brackets, Chrome, or both. Try to reinstall them (Brackets first).
My two cents, is the name of the project php_proj1 ? If not you'll have to use http://localhost/ as your base URL.
Also (When you are using Brackets) check the content of the Chrome Network tab. F12 Developer Tools -> Network -> Filter -> Documents
Try to investigate the URLs, probably that'll give you some insight
