I am new to Laravel, I have installed the Laravel on my localhost using
WAMP server but I am getting an error after all steps.
The errors are:
( ! ) Warning: require(C:\wamp\www\laravel/../bootstrap/autoload.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wamp\www\laravel\index.php on line 21
( ! ) Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required 'C:\wamp\www\laravel/../bootstrap/autoload.php' (include_path='.;C:\php\pear') in C:\wamp\www\laravel\index.php on line 21
I have used below link for Laravel installation
http://www.wikihow.com/Install-Laravel-Framework-in-Windows
I have tried to debug the issue but haven't found success in the installation.
Please let me know what is missing in installation.
You need to install Composer, open up the command prompt and cd to your directory (or hold Shift while right-clicking on your directory and clicking Open command window here) and there run composer install.
You can simplify the Laravel installation with Composers create-project command.
composer create-project laravel/laravel path
Laravel dependencies are not installed yet. That is why it is giving you this error.
https://getcomposer.org/download/
Go to this link and download composer if you haven't already.
Move the composer file to /usr/bin and rename it to just composer.
Go into the root directory of your laravel application. And run:
composer update
This will install and update all required dependencies.
In case you are on windows, which is less likely, but if you are, just download and install composer via the installer and issue the same command in you project's root directory.
Composer is PHP's dependency manager.
In the root directory of your laravel installation you will find a composer.json file. It contains the list of all your project's dependencies. If you ever need to install a package in your project, it becomes very easy. You just have to edit the composer.json file and let it know which package you need. Issuing composer update will install new package listings and update all existing ones.
just to be clear I'm not big fan of wamp.
I've just took quick look at the
http://www.wikihow.com/Install-Laravel-Framework-in-Windows
and I suppose laravel framework is not going to work best with point 11 to 14 modifications.
Baseline for laravel to work is you need to http serve /public folder in a properly configured environment (after composer install and create-project as described earlier).
If you want to take full advantage of laravel you need to often cli `php or composer (at least)` efficiently.
While using laravel I suggest installing PHP and MYSQL yourself from scratch (it really takes few minutes) and using convenient IDE (like PHPSTORM for example).
Nowadays PHP has builtin http server, so you don't need any http server in your dev environment.
So in Windows:
Install PHP and enable required libraries in php.ini
Install and configure local mysql server (easiest way installing via MySQL installer)
Start development server by invoking php.exe -S localhost:80 -t "absolute-path-to-your-laravel-installation\public" like for example C:\htdocs\laravel\public via commandLine
Enter url in your favorite browser http://localhost
Hope that will help to get you started.

I'm trying to configure a PhpStorm project to utilize both remote PHP and a remote Composer. Remote being my Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) installation. However, when I initiate any Composer commands from PhpStorm, I get errors. And unfortunately, the errors are not very indicative of the cause or offer a link for additional details.
Errors received in my "Event Log":
12:21 PM Composer
Failed to install packages for ./composer.json.
Show in Log
And in my "Composer Log":
install --no-interaction --no-ansi
/bin/sh: 1: composer: not found
Failed to install packages for ./composer.json.
So far, I've followed the instructions located at:
https://www.jetbrains.com/help/phpstorm/how-to-use-wsl-development-environment-in-product.html
https://www.jetbrains.com/help/phpstorm/configuring-remote-interpreters.html
I also followed the answer at this post to set WSL as my default terminal:
How to use WSL as default terminal in WebStorm or any other JetBrains' products?
In my WSL installation, composer is located at /home/<user>/.local/bin/composer and is included in my path upon login in my /home/<user>/.profile file. And I was sure to restart PhpStorm after doing so to ensure it has the updated path. Additionally, running composer install within my project, on WSL works without issue.
I'm not sure how to determine which terminal or composer file PhpStorm is using. Either it's still trying to find and use a composer on my host Windows install (which doesn't exist) or I'm missing a path which I have to map for WSL.
Any idea how I can obtain more details as to what I have misconfigured?
I figured out my issue.
When in Settings -> PHP -> Composer, in the "Execution" section. I was already selecting "Remote Interpreter", but the "Composer executable" field requires an absolute path. I was simply supplying the name of the executable since the field is asking for the executable.
I just figured it would utilize my $PATH to resolve the executable, but this isn't using an SSH session so it wouldn't have my custom $PATH values. So it all makes sense.
I have inherited an old legacy system based off Yii 1.1 which has had multiple development teams working on it for the past 10 years so is a bit of a mess with little to no documentation.
Doctrine Migrations have been used in the past and I can get this working on Docker, however on the live EB/EC2 instance, the migrations files will not run from command line.
Command:
php vendor/bin/doctrine-migrations status
Throws error
PHP Warning: require(/var/app/current/site/vendor/bin/doctrine-migrations.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/app/current/site/vendor/bin/doctrine-migrations on line 8
PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/var/app/current/site/vendor/bin/doctrine-migrations.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear7:/usr/share/php7') in /var/app/current/site/vendor/bin/doctrine-migrations on line 8
Looking at my local environment versus the live server, no doctrine-migrations.php file has been created in vendor/bin on the dev server, which composer should have created and is the file being looked for. Composer install is run during build on every deployment but I can't figure out why it is not auto-generating this file in the vendor/bin directory - just another file called doctrine-migrations which pretty much just requires doctrine-migrations.php:
#!/usr/bin/env php
<?php
declare(strict_types=1);
namespace Doctrine\Migrations;
require __DIR__ . '/doctrine-migrations.php';
conposer install install bundle declared in your composer.lock file.
Your composer.lock file is generated when doing your first composer install or a composer update or composer require
Difference may occur between your local environment and production environment.
Indeed, on local, composer install install some bundle only needed in dev mode (see your require-dev part in composer.json)
Either the composer.lock file is not up to date with your composer.json file (if composer.json contain the required bundle) either the required bundle is set as require-dev
To install it, you can run composer install doctrine/doctrine-migrations-bundle
I want to install chamilo in 1and1 when I transfer all the files that I downloaded via FTP to the official site so after I have linked to the subdomain it works an error:
Fatal error: require (): Failed opening required /homepages/...../ chamilo / vendor / composer /../ symfony / polyfill-mbstring / bootstrap.php '(include_path ='.: / Usr / lib / php5.6 ') in
Chamilo / vendor / composer / autoload_real.php on line 66
I tried to proceed differently by sending it from ssh but the server of 1and1 does not recognize the command sudo
If anyone can help me find the solution
Given the type of error you are getting, it looks like you are trying to install Chamilo directly from its development sources at https://github.com/chamilo/chamilo-lms (maybe even from the master branch which is not install-ready yet).
You should try to use either a stable package (from the "Releases" tab on Github) or download the 1.11.x development branch (which is install-ready at this date - obviously the master branch will get that soon as well), but in this case you need to read the README.md file carefully as it requires additional steps (namely using composer update as kind of hinted by #eRiz.
This means you downloaded a zip file directly from Github.
You need to install composer in order to generate the "vendor" folder.
https://getcomposer.org/doc/00-intro.md#installation-linux-unix-osx
Then call "composer install"
Or you can download the official package here:

Hello. Please I am new to the php slim framework. I have tried all day to download and install slim 3 through composer but haven't been successful.
Am using a windows pc. I used command prompt and downloaded composer and installed composer to the desired directory. However, when i try installing slim 3, I get an error : "installation failed, reverting ./composer.json to its original content"
[Command Prompt Error Message][Command prompt error message]
you have to load the direction page of slim frame work using this link:
https://www.slimframework.com/docs/start/installation.html
and there will be a command like this - composer require slim/slim "^3.0"
instead of using this one you have to use this...
php composer.phar require slim/slim "^3.0"
and you will get slim installed
Kick-start Slim 3 projects using a skeleton!
With Composer installed, use the cmd line to access the C:\xampp\htdocs folder, then write this command:
$ php create-project slim/slim-skeleton [my-app-name]
Command will produce composer.json and composer.lock files along with a public/ folder that can all be committed to VCS (do not commit any other folders/dependencies).
Make sure you have high enough version of PHP, and PHP is in your PATH. To check this - print "php -v " in command line (you can pretty sure run up to PHP7).
Make sure you are in the right directory for your project.
Provide complete command line output, there could be things you didn't know to be important for a good answer.
After all, you can delete composer.json and composer.lock from the directory, and try again.
I use windows with XAMPP to run a virtual apache server.
After many similar issues, I downloaded git-bash and used it instead of the windows cmd.
give it a try, and see if that can resolve your issues.

This question already has answers here:
How to place the ~/.composer/vendor/bin directory in your PATH?
(22 answers)
Closed 6 years ago.
Problem: I'm wanting to explore laravel 5, and failing miserably at installing it. I'm using this guide: http://laravel.com/docs/5.0 and need someone to help me understand the instructions.
Background and What I've Tried
I'm running Mac OSX 10.10.2 (Yosemite) and MAMP.
So far, I've downloaded Composer to my home folder using terminal. There is just a composer.phar file sitting there.
When I run:
composer global require "laravel/installer=~1.1"
I get the message:
Changed current directory to /Users/MYUSERNAME/.composer
./composer.json has been updated
Loading composer repositories with package information
Updating dependencies (including require-dev)
Nothing to install or update
Generating autoload files
I assume that is ok because when I run the following in terminal, I get the composer logo and a list of options
~ MYUSERNAME$ composer
I'm not 100% sure what the following means, from the Laravel Docs:
"Make sure to place the ~/.composer/vendor/bin directory in your PATH so the
laravel executable can be located by your system."
Because I can't figure it out, the following steps throw errors, such as:
-bash: laravel: command not found
I've been going through a few forums, and it's suggested that I need to update my PHP.ini file - this seems more related to Composer install, and not specifically Laravel. Because composer is working, this seems to be a dead end.
Ideally, I want to install Laravel 5 to the directory
HomeFolder/sites/test
because Composer.phar is in my home folder, I think the command should be:
php composer laravel new sites/test
or just
composer laravel new sites/test
As mentioned, it just (correctly) throws errors.
Question:
If anyone can help solve my total user error, by explaining what "Make sure to place the ~/.composer/vendor/bin directory in your PATH so the laravel executable can be located by your system." means to a n00b, that'd be really appreciated.
Many thanks!
Laravel is a PHP framework (makes writing PHP applications easy)
Composer is a PHP package and dependency manager. (makes installing and updating third party code libraries easy)
When you run
$ composer global require "laravel/installer=~1.1"
You're using composer to install the laravel/installer=~1.1 package into composer's "global" project folder (usually ~/.composer). This is what installed the command line program named laravel.
The command line program named laravel is a shell script for installing the PHP framework (Also named Laravel).
Your "Unix Path" is a list of folders where a command line script will search for an executable. Usually is has folders like /usr/bin, /usr/local/bin, etc. This is why when you run ls, you're actually running /usr/bin/ls -- the shell knows to check each folder in the path for a location. You can view your current path by typing
$ echo $PATH
So, the problem is composer installed the laravel command line program to a folder that's not in your unix path. You need to add this folder to your unix path. You can do this by running the following (assuming you're using bash, which is OS X's default shell)
$ PATH=$PATH:~/.composer/vendor/bin
If you run that, you should be able to run the laravel command line program and continue your installation.
Most people add this to their .bash_profile or .bashrc files. The Unix Stack Exchange has a lot of good information if you're interested in learning how to do this.
You can add the directory to the PATH variable by editing /etc/paths.
Here's a tutorial on how to do that.
Just add a line with:
~/.composer/vendor/bin
Then the laravel new command should work fine
If everything fails you can still use the composer create-project command to make a new laravel instance:
composer create-project laravel/laravel sites/test --prefer-dist
I added C:\Users\Leon\AppData\Roaming\Composer\vendor\bin instead of ~/.composer/vendor/bin to the Path variable.
Here is instructions on changing the path variable on Windows 10:
