I hope someone can help with this problem I'm having.
I am building a shopping cart solution using the PayPal payflow api. I have been able to submit successful transactions but. I am having problems with AVS checks and validation.
It seems if I enter an incorrect expiry date the transaction is still successful. Entering a valid CVN number, the paypal response suggests CVV2MATCH=N even when the CVN number is correct.
I've been told I can set up fraud filters, but I cant seem to find these settings. I have checked paypal and the manager paypal accounts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The response codes for AVS and CVV2 come from the card issuing bank, so if you're absolutely certain you're entering the correct value and it's still coming back with an N then you need to call the card issuing bank and as them why that would be happening.
Fraud Filters need to be activated on your account in order for you to have access to them. The easiest way to do this is to call PayPal and request it.

I am using PayPal API of php. It was ok since 2 years but now its creating problems for some customers. Some of the orders are fine but for few users, the transaction is completed but API doesn't response (throw empty response).
I don't think it will be because of code issue. I am unable to track the issue. Anyone know, why it's showing the random behavior.
The interesting thing is, for the same customer, doing the second time transaction, it works fine. Totally random behavior. Please need expert suggestion.
Please contact PayPal Merchant Technical Support, provide with your PayPal account and API request example which go empty response.

I am implementing PayPal payment to my application.
I am using Laravel Framework and merchant-sdk-php package to handle NVP/SOAP API. I would accually prefer REST API, but i need customers to make Reference Transactions with various amount, in non regular time periods and as far as i know it's possible only with NVP/SOAP API.
The payment flow in shortcut:
1. Payer clicks "connect" button, which is to create billing agreement using "SetExpressCheckout" method. Amount is set to 0 and adding a Billing Agreement field to request. Customer is redirected to PayPal, log in to his account, agreeing to direct debit and finally redirected to my return url.
2. After response is come, return action is fired (the one, which is passed in returnurl field). Next using token from paypal resposne i use CreateBillingAgreement method to get "BillingAgreementID" which i store in database.
3. Using "BillingAgreementID" i make "DoReferenceTransaction" request. No prompt to login is occurring, everything is happening behind the scene. Finally i get response after transaction.
The thinks i want to know are:
1. Is there a way, to get an email address, which consumer used to log in when creating billing agreemenet? I want to show in application which PayPal account (related to mentioned email) is direct debit set to?
2. I want to make some action in databse both after "BillingAgreementID" and "DoReferenceTransaction". Is the response status "Success" and additionally in "DoReferenceTransaction" field "PaymentStatus" set to "Completed" enought to conclude, that transaction is fully completed, and i cant i.e. share some digital goods or should i wait for IPN from this request?
Thanks for all contributions!
Found solution to question 1.
After betting billing agreement id i had to make "GetBillingAgreementCustomerDetails" action. In response i got customer details including email.
Still watching for hint to second question
we have implemented express checkout very well.
we get ipn response for each transaction.
we done these thing in sandbox.
now we are making recurring payment with express checkout.
here the recurring profile is creating proper,
But i am not getting any ipn notification for transaction and also not any transaction is done for that profile.
Can anyone suggest me solution for this issue.
Help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Recurring Payments transactions send IPN's just fine, so my guess is your IPN script must not be handling them correctly or maybe just "doing nothing" with them. For example, if you're only handling a specific txn_type, then you might be missing out on other stuff.
Log in to your PayPal account and check your IPN History and you should see a list of all the IPN's it's been sending. You can see if it's returning Success or Fail, there, because another possibility is that your IPN script is simply failing when a certain txn_type hits it.
Your own web server logs can be a big help when troubleshooting that sort of thing, too. If you are getting some IPN's, though, it would be sending them all, so something must be going on to make you think they're not sending when they are.
I'm looking to implement a very simple Paypal integration whereby I can enter a valid Paypal Email address (recipient) and a dollar amount, and click "Pay." Ideally, it would send the money from my paypal account automatically via my API key.
I currently have Mass Pay set up with PHP, and it's working fine, except that it charges me 2% on every payment, and doesn't pass back the Transaction ID. It also kinda seems unnecessary since I don't need to pay multiple people at once.
Since I only need to do one transaction at a time, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a simpler Paypal API for single outgoing transactions from my account.
I've been reading the documentation all day and I've yet to find what I'm looking for.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
PayPal has sample codes for integrating various PayPal features on it's website. This includes PHP take a look at the list of features and I'm sure what you are looking for is there.
Also from the paypal site:
PayPal receives the MassPay request and returns a response indicating
success or failure. If PayPal returns a successful response, then
PayPal processes the payments and, if you have Instant Payment
Notifications (IPN) enabled, PayPal sends a notification to the Notify
URL specified in your account profile. If you do not have IPN enabled,
you can view the details of the MassPay transaction in your PayPal
account.
This implies that in the case of mass pay you need to provide a URL where paypal sends payment notifications. Your program can probably check this url to figure out whether a payment has been made or not, I would suspect this would be the case for all payment integration. That being said I would print_r the the response from paypal, I'm sure something like a transaction id will probably be in there. In the case of DoAuthorization it does return the transaction id
In the case of mass pay it does return the transaction id if IPN is enabled
I'm using PayPal on a website that I'm currently working on and everything works correctly: user is sent to paypal, pays, and comes back and IPN validation is working perfectly.
The only thing is that I noticed, using the sandbox, that the transaction number given to the buyer is not the same as the one I get in the IPN data (txn_id). I'm wondering how am I supposed to help a customer on my website if he gives me the confirmation number he got on his invoice and it's not the same as in PayPal's system? Is there something that I missed in my IPN scripting that would allow me to get that same information? I didn't see anything about that in the documentation and I'm probably not the first developer who notices that...
Thanks for any kind of help you can give me.
A seller's transaction ID is different from a buyer's transction ID, since they're two different actions (one debit, one credit).
