I want to delete my record from database by giving an alert box which is bootstrap modal box.
i am using codeigniter, i tried but it did not worked. plz Help..
Here is my Controller:
function deleteImage($id = NULL){
$this->config_mdl->delete_image($id);
$this->session->set_flashdata('msg', 'Image Deletion Successful !!');
}
Here is my Model:
function delete_image($id)
{
return $this->db->delete('tbl_gallery', array('image_id' => $id));
}
Here is my View:
<div id="confirmDelete" class="modal fade" role="dialog" aria-lebelledby="confirmDeleteLebel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog modal-sm">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<h4 class="modal-title">Confirmation</h4>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
<p>Are you sure want to delete this record?</p>
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm" id="confirm">OK</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-warning btn-sm" data-dismiss="modal">Cancel</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="caption img-gallery-caption">
<?php
$attributes = array('data-toggle' => 'modal', 'data-target' => '#confirmDelete', 'data-title' => 'Delete Image', 'data-message' => 'Are you sure you want to delete this Image?');
echo anchor('config/editImage', '<i class="glyphicon glyphicon-edit"></i>', $attributes);
echo anchor('config/deleteImage/'.$image->image_id, '<i class="glyphicon glyphicon-trash"></i>');
?>
</div>
Here is my Javascript code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$("#confirmDelete").on('show.bs.modal', function(e){
$(this).find('#confirm').attr('href', $(e.relatedTarget).data('href'));
});
</script>
First ensure that you can go in inside the $("#confirmDelete").on...
You can use ajax in the call
$("#confirmDelete").on('show.bs.modal', function(e){
// Search the 'id'
$.post(
'deleteImage/'+id,
'',
funcion(data){
// some data tha you want to receive from the server
},
'json');
});
you are setting href value of button! button doesn't have href attribute so instead convert your button into anchor tag and it will work!

I want to open a modal with information about the offer that is grabbed from the database.
Here's what I have so far: (Minimal required code)
Opening modal:
<a href="" data-bs-toggle="modal" data-bs-target="#infoPonuka">
<i class="fa-solid fa-eye spc"> </i>
</a>
Modal:
<div class="modal fade" id="infoPonuka" tabindex="-1" aria-labelledby="infoPonuka" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog modal-dialog-centered modal-dialog-scrollable">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<h5 class="modal-title" id="infoPonuka">Ponuka - info:</h5>
<button type="button" class="btn-close" data-bs-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close"></button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
#if(isset($_GET['id']))
#foreach ($ponuky AS $item)
#if($item->ID == $_GET['id'])
#php
$ponuka = $item;
#endphp
{{Debug::printr($ponuka, false);}}
#endif
#endforeach
#endif
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-bs-dismiss="modal">Zatvoriť</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
When I was doing it, I thought I could maybe just use $_GET to get the ID of the offer, so I can have specific data from an array because every opening modal (the first code block) is shown on every item, so I wanted to make it unique for every button by maybe adding the href="?id={{ $ponuka->ID }}". But I was unable to do so. Does someone have any idea?
You might use ajax request on click of your anchor tag instead of using these attributes data-bs-toggle="modal" data-bs-target="#infoPonuka", and then, in response of your ajax request, set the data in the html of the modal as Passing ajax response data to modal
and then show the modal as:
$("#modalId").modal("show");
right after the line your data is set to modal html.
Make a method in a Controller and a route:
This will retun a redered view.
public function getOffer($offer_id)
{
$offer = Offer::where('id', $offer_id);
$renderedOfferView = view('modal.offer', ['offer' => $offer)->render();
return return response()->json(['status' => 'success', 'renderedOfferView' => $renderedOfferView]);
}
In your blade:
<a href="" data-bs-toggle="modal" data-bs-target="#infoPonuka" onclick="getOffer('{{ $ponuka->ID }}')">
<i class="fa-solid fa-eye spc"> </i>
</a>
<div class="modal fade" id="infoPonuka" tabindex="-1" aria-labelledby="infoPonuka" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog modal-dialog-centered modal-dialog-scrollable">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<h5 class="modal-title" id="infoPonuka">Ponuka - info:</h5>
<button type="button" class="btn-close" data-bs-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close"></button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body" id="getOfferContent">
<!-- use the getOfferContent id to fill with data -->
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-bs-dismiss="modal">Zatvoriť</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
getOffer(id){
$('#getOfferContent').html(''); // clear data
$.ajaxSetup({
headers: {
'X-CSRF-TOKEN': $('meta[name="csrf-token"]').attr('content')
}
});
$.ajax({
url: '/your-getOffer-route',
type: 'GET',
data: {
id: id,
},
success: function( response ) {
$('#getOfferContent').html(response.renderedOfferView); // fill data
},
error: function( response ) {
}
});
}
Do not forgot to set: <meta name="csrf-token" content="{{ csrf_token() }}"> in your layout.blade.php into <head> tag
I have a Modal Window. It is working good with javascript. I tried something myself but I can't show any information of Customer in Modal Window. When clicking on the info button, I want to show the Customer's information. How can I show any customer information in Modal Window?
Controller:
public function index()
{
$viewData['countries'] = $this->db->get("country")->row();
$viewData['customers'] = $this->customer_model->get_all();
$this->lang->load('content', $this->session->userdata('people_lang'));
$this->load->view('customers', $viewData);
}
public function getInfo(){
$cusId = $this->input->post('cusId');
$viewData['customers'] = $this->db->where("cusId", $cusId)->get("customer")->row();
$this->load->view('customers/getInfo', $viewData);
}
This Ajax Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
function showCustomers(str){
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
data: { cusId: str },
url: "<?=base_url('customers/getInfo');?>",
success: function(data) {
$('#divInfo').html(data);
}
});
}
</script>
This Modal:
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="myModal2" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog modal-lg">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-hidden="true">×</button>
<h4 class="modal-title">Modal Tittle</h4>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
<div id="divInfo"></div>
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button data-dismiss="modal" class="btn btn-default" type="button">Close</button>
<button class="btn btn-warning" type="button"> Confirm</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<!-- modal -->
This View:
<a data-toggle="modal" href="#myModal3"><button class="btn btn-primary btn-xs" onclick="showCustomers(this.id);" id="<?php echo $customers->cusId; ?>"><i class="fa fa-eye"></i></button>
But This is not working. Where is I do mistake?
I think you can do this by adding a couple of lines.
Note* Code is not tested, i can practically painting the idea to solve this.
In the index function of your controller
public function index(){
$viewData['countries'] = $this->db->get("country")->row();
$viewData['customers'] = $this->customer_model->get_all();
//**new line
// Assuming you already have method in your Model to get customer by id
// Check if there's a GET request of 'customerID' then assign to the $viewDataByID array the data from the model, else nothing.
$viewDataByID['customersById'] = (isset($_GET['cusomterID'])) ? $this->customer_model->get_by_id($id) : '';
//Then you'll have to update the variable sent to the view by storing both in one array
$allData['viewData']= $viewData;
$allData['viewDataByID'] = $viewDataByID;
$this->lang->load('content', $this->session->userdata('people_lang'));
$this->load->view('customers', $allData);// $allData get sent to the view
}
In your modal you can sent the request
Please update the variables in the view. You can do a print_r($allData) or var_dump($allData) to clearly see the data tree and how you can make use of them.
Alternatively if you do not want to use your index for this, you can create another function within your controller to handle the customer by id, json_encode the result and then use jQuery to get the data.
Hope this helps.
Here's one way you could do it:
<!--modify button to include an onclick element, pass a value to it-->
<button class="btn btn-primary btn-xs" id="info_modal" onclick="show_modal('<?=$customer_name;?>')"><i class="fa fa-eye"></i></button>
You could modify your modal to have some id's in anticipation of your data:
<div class="modal fade" id="info_modal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
....
<div class="modal-body">
View File List According to Customer ID.
<div id="customer_name"></div>
</div>
Then in your script (if using jquery):
//add passed string to the modal and then display it
function show_modal(customer_name){
$("#customer_name").html(customer_name);
$("#info_modal").modal('show');
}
I answered myself this question.
<td data-title="Edit" align="center"><button class="btn btn-primary btn-xs"><i class="fa fa-pencil"></i></button> <a data-toggle="modal" href="#<?php echo $customer->cusId; ?>"><button class="btn btn-primary btn-xs"><i class="fa fa-eye"></i></button></a></td>
I edit a href like that href="#<?php echo $customer->cusId; ?>
Afterthat I just write this code on modal top:
<?php foreach ($customers as $get) { ?>
<div class="modal fade" id="<?php echo $get->cusId; ?>" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<?php } ?>
I edit id like that id="#<?php echo $get->cusId; ?>
It works better now!
I want to edit record in cakephp for that i want to load modal popup that is placed inside another view edit.ctp. There is a page view.ctp where user can click link on a link and modal popup will show up. I need a different view for my modalpopup. Below is code.Please help to solve my issue. If i place my modal on the same page i.e. view.ctp it is working but i need a different view.
view.ctp
<li>
<?php
echo $this->Html->link("Edit Profucts","/PanelAdmin/products/edit/".$prod->product_id, array('update' => '#flexModal','id'=>'flexModal','data-target' => 'flexModal','htmlAttributes' => array('data-toggle' => 'modal',)));
?>
</li>
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("a[data-target='flexModal']").click(function(ev) {
ev.preventDefault();
var target = $('#flexModal').attr("href");
$("#flexModals .modal-body").load(target, function(data) {
$("#flexModals").modal("show");
});
});
});
</script>
edit.ctp
<div class="modal" data-target="#flexModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" data-backdrop="static">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-hidden="true">×</button>
<h3 class="modal-title" id="myModalLabel"></h3>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
<?php
echo $products->product_name;
echo $products->product_desc;
?>
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default" data-dismiss="modal">Cancel</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
ProductsController.php
public function edit($id)
{
$products = $this->Products->get($id);
$this->set(compact('products'));
}
I have a delete button beside my projects that shows a popup modal for confirmation whenever the button is clicked on. I want the yes button in the modal to then delete the project whenever this button is clicked on.
I'm calling the modal into the projects/show view with #include. The modal does appear when the button is clicked using the following jquery but the yes button when pressed is not deleting the project.
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".delete").on("submit", function(e){
e.preventDefault();
$('#myModal').modal('show');
});
});
The delete button beside projects:
{!! Form::open(['route' => ['projects.destroy', $projects->id], 'class' => 'delete', 'method' => 'DELETE']) !!}
{!!Form::button('<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-remove"></span>', ['class' => 'btn btn-danger btn-md', 'type' => 'submit'])!!}
{!! Form::close() !!}
Modal code:
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="myModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel">
<div class="modal-dialog modal-md" role="document">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close"><span aria-hidden="true">×</span></button>
<h4 class="modal-title text-center" id="myModalLabel">Delete Confirmation</h4>
</div>
<div class="modal-body text-center">
Are you sure you want to delete this project?
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="submit" id="delete-btn" class="btn btn-default" >Yes</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-dismiss="modal">Cancel</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
ProjectController:
<?php
namespace App\Http\Controllers;
use App\project;
use App\Http\Requests;
use Illuminate\Http\Request;
use Session;
class ProjectsController extends Controller
{
public function destroy($id){
$project = Project::find($id);
$project->delete();
Session::flash('success', 'The project was successfully deleted!');
return redirect()->route('projects.show', $project->project_id);
}
}
Change the submit button in your modal to this:
{!! Form::open(['route' => ['projects.destroy', $projects->id], 'class' => 'delete', 'method' => 'DELETE']) !!}
<button type="submit" id="delete-btn" class="btn btn-default" >Yes</button>
{!! Form::close() !!}
The best solution is to remove your implementation of the delete button you have now and make it a normal button. Let that button pop up the modal and replace your "Yes" button with an actual remove button like I did above.
I am trying to use a bootstrap modal to confirm delete operation. I am using Cakephp 3 and am new to it.
So far I am able to create this much.
If i can successfully replace with the id of the button that was clicked, Then the issue will be solved
UsersController.php
public function delete($id)
{
$this->request->allowMethod(['post', 'delete']);
$user= $this->Users->get($id);
if ($this->Users->delete($user)) {
$this->Flash->success(__('The user with id: {0} has been deleted.', h($id)));
return $this->redirect(['action' => 'index']);
}
}
index.ctp
<?= $this->Html->tag('i','',['class' => 'fa fa-times fa-fw icon-delete deleteUser', 'data-toggle' => 'modal', 'data-target' => '#confirmModal' , 'id' => $user->user_id ]) ?>
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="confirmModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-body">Are you sure?</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<?= $this->Form->postLink(
$this->Html->tag('button','Delete',['class' => 'btn btn-default pull-right']),
['action' => 'delete', <id_here>],
['escape' => false])
?>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default pull-right" data-dismiss="modal">Cancel</button>
</div>
</div>
<!-- /.modal-content -->
</div>
<!-- /.modal-dialog -->
</div>
<!-- /.modal -->
The generated markup for the delete button part in the modal is
<form action="/boot/users/delete/ABCD20090004" name="post_56e141b0297cc915184088" style="display:none;" method="post"><input name="_method" value="POST"></form>
<a href="#" onclick="document.post_56e141b0297cc915184088.submit(); event.returnValue = false; return false;">
<button class="btn btn-default pull-right">Delete</button>
</a>
Try:
<?= $this->Form->postLink(
$this->Html->tag('button','Delete',['class' => 'btn btn-default pull-right']),
['action' => 'delete',array('id'=>$user->user_id)],
['escape' => false])
?>
Note: you will need a modal for each element in your list(loop)
Pass the user id of the record to be deleted on the delete button on the modal as opposed to the delete button you are clicking on to display the modal. Modify the index.ctp as follows
Do not pass the user id at this point
<?= $this->Html->tag('i','',['class' => 'fa fa-times fa-fw icon-delete deleteUser', 'data-toggle' => 'modal', 'data-target' => '#confirmModal']) ?>
Pass the id on the delete button below
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="confirmModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-body">Are you sure?</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<?= $this->Form->postLink(__('Delete'), ['action' => 'delete', $user->id], ['class' => 'btn btn-default pull-right']); ?>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default pull-right" data-dismiss="modal">Cancel</button>
</div>
</div>
<!-- /.modal-content -->
</div>
<!-- /.modal-dialog -->
</div>
<!-- /.modal -->
Also, do not forget to initialize the modal
<script>
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#confirmModal').modal('show');
});
</script>
