PHP Startup: Can not find module php_pdo - php

I am running XAMPP v.1.8.3, on Windows 7, which shipped with PHP version 5.5.6. I manually downloaded PHP version 5.6.1 and put it in xampp/php. The old folder php I renamed to php_5.5.6. I enabled extension=php_pdo_mysql.dll in php.ini ( which was initially named php.ini-development, had to rename to php.ini ) and started getting this error when starting apache
PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\xampp\php\php_pdo_mysql.dll' -
The specified module could not be found.
Then I located the extension dll and it was in C:\xampp\php\ext\php_pdo_mysql.dll, so I moved it to C:\xampp\php\php_pdo_mysql.dll but the error remains. Why isn't it finding the driver?
What is not making sense for me is that on my older version (5.5.6) the extension was also in the ext folder and not in the main php folder.

The solution was rather simple, as suggested here my extension_dir was not correct. Which doesn't explain why moving the file to the actual extension_dir would still produce this error.

php chilkat_9_5_0 extension not working in windows 10

My PHP Version 7.2.1 and Architecture is x86 and System is Windows 10 64 bit so I have downloaded chilkat-9.5.0-php-7.2-nts-win32 from https://www.chilkatsoft.com/php.asp#winDownloads
and extension DLL file added into my C:/xampp/php/ext such as "C:/xampp/php/ext/chilkat_9_5_0.dll" and updated my php.ini as well
But PHP is throwing startup warning and chilkat extension is not working for me could you please guide me where is i am wrong.
My php.ini
extension_dir="C:\xampp\php\ext"
extension=chilkat_9_5_0
PHP Error
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'chilkat_9_5_0' (tried: C:\xampp\php\ext\chilkat_9_5_0 (The specified module could not be found.
), C:\xampp\php\ext\php_chilkat_9_5_0.dll (The specified module could not be found.
)) in Unknown on line 0
well first of all you need to find if your PHP is NTS (None Thread Safe) or TS (Thread Safe) by phpinfo()
as you can see thread safety is enabled which means that PHP is TS
and my PHP version is 7.2.34 x64 which means that i have to download
chilkat PHP 7.2.* (thread-safe) x64
after installation place chilkat_9_5_0.dll in (C:\xampp\php\ext)
if you are using xamp my default require() is at (C:\xampp\php\pear)
so move chilkat_9_5_0.php to (C:\xampp\php\pear)
in the php.ini search for dynamic extension and below add ( extension=chilkat_9_5_0.dll ) with the .dll
restart XAMP and test it with the given test.php file in the downloads and it should work

PHP ZMQ Extension: Unable to load dynamic library

I'm working on Wampserver on Windows 10.
I'm using an extension called ZMQ. I downloaded the DLLS from:
https://pecl.php.net/package/zmq/1.1.3/windows
I previously used the version of the extension for PHP 5.6 and it worked. The extension however had a bug, so I decided to upgrade my php version to 7.0.4 and try the new version of the extension.
The extension was successfully installed and it appears in the phpinfo(), but when I try to run "php -v" from the command line (or the CLI service that uses the extension), I get the following error: "Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'D:/wamp64/bin/php/php7.0.4/ext/php_zmq.dll' - The specified module could not be found.
in Unknown on line 0"
The weird thing is the file "php_zmq.dll" actually exists in the specified path.
Important note: I have the line "extension=php_zmq.dll" in both my "D:\wamp64\bin\apache\apache2.4.18\bin\php.ini" and my "D:\wamp64\bin\php\php7.0.4\php.ini" (which to my understanding is used by the CLI). I can't remove either of those lines because then the extension is removed, or it doesn't work in the CLI.
I had the same problem. using PHP 7.0 x64 TS. I used the exact dll from pecl but same error. all my other extensions load fine and are in the same directory
i followed all instructions on https://superuser.com/questions/585291/installing-zeromq-on-windows-7-wamp-server.
the main updates would be to do the following:
copy libzmq.dll and libsodium.dll to php root dir. (both are found in the pecl zip files.

PHP can't find dynamic library but it is on disk

I have to use a PHP extension called ssh2: http://php.net/manual/en/book.ssh2.php
I downloaded the sources, and compiled them. Then I copied the .dll to my php ext directory. Then I added extension=php_ssh2.dll to php.ini and I restarted Apache2 and I got the following error:
PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'C:\xampp\php\ext\php_ssh2.dll' - The specified module could not be
found
It is weird because I have php_ssh2.dll on that path. Maybe I compiled it in a wrong way?
I am using xampp, by the way. The rest of the extension load correctly.

Not Loading Firebird Extension

I'm trying to use the Firebird extension in PHP. I've got the extension files (php_pdo_firebird.dll, php_interbase.dll) in my ext folder. I'm adding them in my php.ini file like so
...
[PHP_PDO_FIREBIRD]
extension=php_pdo_firebird.dll
[PHP_INTERBASE]
extension=php_interbase.dll
...
No errors are being thrown saying the extensions could not be loaded and yet whenever I print my phpinfo I don't see either of them listed. What am I missing here?
For what it's worth, I'm running PHP version 5.3.14 TS using Apache 2.2 on Windows 7.
Edit: It seems some errors are being logged, it's just that my error_log setting was being overwritten (for those seeing this, double check C:\Windows\Temp\php-errors.log). Now it's telling me the specified modules could not be found whenever the file clearly exists.
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext\php_pdo_firebird.dll' -
The specified module could not be found.
in Unknown on line 0
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext\php_interbase.dll' -
The specified module could not be found.
in Unknown on line 0
Figured it out! Okay, first to get the basics out of the way:
Make sure the version of the DLLs matches your PHP version.
For those who use the Windows installer, for some reason it doesn't provide an option to include the Interbase and Firebird modules so you'll have to download the matching .zip file and copy them from the ext folder in there.
Double check for any typos, such as unescaped backslashes, in your extension_dir setting. This only applies if the value isn't "wrapped in quotation marks."
Now for the coup de grace. That error message is extremely misleading. At this point it should be finding your DLLs but it's missing one integral piece: fbclient.dll which can be found in the bin folder of your Firebird installation. Everywhere I read before said to place fbclient.dll in the ext folder but it only works if you put it in the root of your PHP folder.
Hope this helps future wayward souls :)

PHP Startup: unable to initialize module

i'm trying to install mongoDB in my system. As instructed in
http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/PHP+Language+Center,
I downloaded php_mongo.dll and put it in ../php5.3.0/ext folder. Then I added extension=php_mongo.dll to php.ini. When I restarted WAMP, I got the following errors:
PHP Startup: unable to load dynamic library php5.3.0/ext/php_gd2.dll
and the same error for
php_mbstring.dll,php_mysql.dll,php_mysqli.dll,php_pdo_mysql.dll,php_pdo_sqlite.dll.
After that, I got another error:
PHP Startup: Mongo: Unable to initialize module
Module compiled with build ID=API20090626, TS, VC9
PHP compiled with build ID=API20090626, TS, VC6.
These options need to match.
After some reading up from the net, I realize that I have to change the compiler for PHP. Does anyone know on how to update php compiler VC6 to php compiler VC9?
My Apache version 2.2.11
PHP version 5.3.0
thank you
http://windows.php.net/download/
Download the zip file for VC9 x86 Thread Safe (which is for PHP run as Apache module).
Extract the contents of the zip somewhere
Stop apache
Backup the php.ini file you have in your current PHP directory ../php5.3.0/
Delete (or backup) the rest of the contents you have in ../php5.3.0/
Place the extracted content in ../php5.3.0/
Put php_mongodb.dll in ../php5.3.0/ext/
Put php.ini back also
Restart Apache
edit:
Sorry, I forgot to mention that you also need to replace your apache install with the one from apachelounge as well, and have Microsoft 2008 C++ Runtime (x86) or the Microsoft 2008 C++ Runtime (x64) installed, as per the remarks in "Which version do I choose?" on the same page http://windows.php.net/download/
For time being, check which module is in warning message, just go to php.ini file and comment it. This could work
