I am new to cakephp. I have a problem with calling the function. here is my issue.
In Contrloller file i get all the values using the following function
public function index()
{
$conditions = array(
'order' => array('Histroy.chat_sk DESC')
);
$this->set('histroys', $this->Histroy->find('all',$conditions));
}
In My model file have the following,
class Histroy extends AppModel
{
public $tablePrefix = 'plc_';
public $useTable = 'chat_history';
}
In my view file i have listed the values using foreach() function and that as follows
foreach ($histroys as $histroy):
$oper_name = $histroy['Histroy']['operator_fk'];
$operator_email = $histroy['Histroy']['email'];
endforeach
in that opertaor_fk is a field in history table. So i need get the operator name by another table as operators. So i need to call that function in the view.
Ex : In core we can do like as,
$operator_name = operator_name($fetch['operator_id']);
Function should be like this:
function operator_name($id)
{
// Select the value for the matched field in the operator
return $operator_name;
}
In cakephp how can i retrieve the values.
Please help me out to fix this. Thanks in Advance
Follow the blog tutorial for cake. It'll explain how to create associations and relationships between tables to let you do what is is you want, but in a nutshell, you need to create a relationship between History and Operator models and work from there.

I'm looking for a way to make a dynamic & global model filter in Laravel.
I'm imagining a function like the following in my User.php model:
public function filter() {
return ($someVariable === true);
}
Whenever I do a query using Eloquent's query builder, I only want users to show up in the collection when the filter above returns true. I would have thought a feature like that existed, but a quick look at the documentation suggests otherwise. Or did I miss it?
I believe what you're looking for is Query Scopes.
They are methods that may be defined in a global or local context, that mutate the current query for a given model.
https://laravel.com/docs/5.5/eloquent#query-scopes
For example:
Lets say I have a database table called "Teams" and it has a column on it called "Wins." If I wanted to retrieve all Teams that had a number of Wins between Aand B I could write the following Local scope method on the teams model:
public function scopeWinsBetween($query, int $min, int $max)
{
return $query->whereBetween('wins', $min, $max);
}
And it could be invoked as such:
$teams = Teams::winsBetween(50, 100)->get();
I think you could use Collection macro but you will need to suffix all your eloquent get(); to get()->userDynamicFilter();
Collection::macro('userDynamicFilter', function () {
//$expected = ...
return $this->filter(function ($value) use($expected) {
return $value == $expected;
});
});
Thanks. For now I've simply added a post filter option to the models using the following code:
// Apply a post filter on the model collection
$data = $data->filter(function($modelObject) {
return (method_exists($modelObject, 'postFilter')) ? $modelObject->postFilter($modelObject) : true;
});
in Illuminate/Database/Eloquent/Builder.php's get() function, after creating the collection. This allows me to add a function postFilter($model) into my model which returns either true or false.
Probably not the cleanest solution but a working one for now.
I've a very big doubt about how works laravel for a very simple thing:
If I call:
$companies=User::All();
Then I can use statement like this in a forach:
foreach($companies as $company)
$company['new_field']= 'something';
If i'm limiting the output of the query like:
$companies = DB::table('companies')
->select('id','name','email','business_name',...)->get();
The things doesnt work as before,
I try with or without the ->get()
I try to convert with ->toArray() (errors rised)
I try with put() and push() for collections method and agains errors...
How can I add a field in every item of the collection just to pass it to a view?
Try like this, hope it works for you:
$users=User::select('id','name','email','business_name',...)->get()->toArray();
and then use foreach loop like this:
foreach($users as $key => $value ){
$users[$key]['newField'] = "Demo";
}
If you are using Laravel and model in it so there is a better way to add custom attribute or field here is what i do for custom field
For Example :
There is a Model Name User
so in User Model
add a property name appends like :
class User extends Model
{
protected $appends = ['new_field'];
public function getNewFieldAttribute() // defining field logic here
{
return // your code
}
So you no need to use foreach and looping and adding new field
for more have a look on laravel doc : https://laravel.com/docs/5.5/eloquent-mutators#accessors-and-mutators
Suggestion
you can limit your output with Model too.
User::select('id','name','email','business_name',...)->get();
if you are making an array like
User::select('id','name','email','business_name',...)->get()->toArray();
so this will also give you your custom field
I am currently trying to make a function that calls different scopeQueries such as scopeByLocation() or scopeByPublished() on models defined in an array. I've got the basics working through [this link][1]. However, when trying to access custom made query scopes that are defined in the corresponding model, I get the following error: "Call to undefined method Illuminate\Database\Query\Builder::ForLocation($location)->get()".
What I want to achieve is a single method which loops through every model in the array of models and retrieves & calls the right scopeQuery on the model, something like this:
$modelElements = $model::{$queryScope}();
Where for example $model = 'Modules\News\Models\Article'
And $queryScope is a defined queryScope in the model itself. E.g. scopeForLocation($location).
I've tested $queryScope = 'all' and I get a result just fine, however when I try to access a custom queryScope ($queryScope = 'ForLocation($location)->get') that exists within for example the Location model, I get the following error: "Call to undefined method Illuminate\Database\Query\Builder::ForLocation($location)->get()".
So this all happens in a foreach-loop where every model in my models-array gets called and then the corresponding queryScope gets called on the model.
Why does the $queryScope = 'all' method works on my dynamic models, but other scopes throw an error? I really hope someone could help me get into the right direction with this issue.
Thanks in advance,
J. Doe.
Okay, I've finally solved it the following way:
//array of models
public function models()
{
return [
'Modules\Website\Models\Article',
...
];
}
//function that retrieves all elements for a model
public function getAllElementsForModel($model, $param)
{
//instantiate model
$model = new $model;
//call queryScope
//'queryScope' could be any queryScope that is defined within your model(s),
//the parameters are needed for the associated queryScope
$query = call_user_func_array([$model, 'queryScope'], [$param1, $param2]);
$result = $query->get();
//do stuff with your $result
}
//retrieves all
public function all($param)
{
//loop through the array of models
foreach($this->models() as $model){
$this->getAllElementsForModel($model, $param);
//do stuff here...
}
}
Sharing is caring!
I'm confronted to a little problem, i try to add a method to show only online article, but i want to know how do implement this method.
In my DB i have a row is_online (Int) for 0=> offline, 1=>online, how do implement that for my view.
in my models with
public function isonline(){}
or in my PostController in my request of post find.
And after need to add in my admin panel a check box in Post create to change the status off article (online or offline-draft).
You should use Eloquent scope in your code by creating online scope in your model.
public function scopeOnline($query)
{
return $query->where('is_online', 1);
}
Draft posts
public function scopeDrafts($query)
{
return $query->where('is_online', 0);
}
Then in your code you can simply use it like this.
$onlinePosts = Post::online()->get();
$draftPosts = Post::drafts()->get();
You just need to find all records who have flag is_online = 1.
You can write one method in your PostController like
Public function getOnlineRecords{
$records = YourModel::where('is_online','=',1)->get();
return View::make('your_view_path',['records'=>$records]);
}
In your View file, you need to write:-
{{ Form::checkbox('your_field_name', 'value', true) }}
If you want to default the value as checked, pass true as the third argument.
This should return a list of about five locations. It returns nothing with no errors. I've tested the sql using mysql workbench. It returns the data just fine. Right now I'm writing the back end so I'm not concerned with using views or the dataprovider. I'm just making sure my back end functions work. So with that in mind, how would you return the data retrieved by findAllBySql?
class CashLogic
{
public function AllLocations()
{
$model = new Locations;
$allLocations = $model->findAllBySql("SELECT name from locations");
return $allLocations;
}
}
class SiteController extends Controller
{
public function actionIndex()
{
$model = new CashLogic;
$data = $model->AllLocations();
return $data;
}
}
The findAllBySql() method returns an array of models. From your code it seems you only want the names of locations. An alternative method is
$AllLocations=CHtml::listData(Locations::model()->findAll(),'name','name');
This will return an array of the form array('name'=>'name','name'=>'name'). A better solution would be to replace the first name with the primary key of your locations table.
