I'm new to php and i'm using log4php with laravel.
My project structure is
->Root
->Laravel
->app
->folderx
->abc.php
->otherfolders
.
.
->vendor
->composer.json (contains log4php and laravel)
->logconfig.xml
I'm trying to initialize the logger from inside abc.php,
Logger::configure('../../../logconfig.xml');
but it gives the error message
Class 'Apache\Log4php\Hierarchy' not found
I verified that the class Hierarchy.php exists in the vendor/apache/log4php/src under Root folder. Also, if I open Logger.php and go to the line where Hierarchy in initialized and ctrl+click(in eclipse) on Hierarchy, it takes me to Hierarchy.php.
I'm trying to figure out why php is not able to find that class.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
That error message shows that your PHP is looking for a namespaced class. Log4PHP has never been released until now with namespaces (up to version 2.3.0), so this is definitely weird.
If you accidentially use the development branch of the 3.0 version, I must currently suggest not to use it. It barely got any significant commits in the last year, and should be considered work in progress (very slow progress unfortunately).

I tried to implement the simplesamlphp library into my web application. But when I call the requireAuth() function I get a PHP fatal error message. Uncaught Exception: Loader: Illegal character in filename.....
It seems like he can't resolve the Class SimpleSAML\Module\saml\Auth\Source\SP
But I don't know why.
Does anyone have a idea how to fix this?
I already deleted the whole simplesamlphp installation and reinstalled it.
I use the following code:
require 'var/www/simplesamlphp/lib/_autoload.php';
$lAuthSrc = new \SimpleSAML\Auth\Simple('default-sp');
if (!$lAuthSrc->isAuthenticated()) {
$lAuthSrc->requireAuth();
}
$lAttributes = $lAuthSrc -> getAttributes();
foreach($lAttributes as $lAttribute) {
print_r($lAttribute);
}
Some additional informations:
The configured authentication source test works fine. If I login via the configured authentication source, everything works fine and I don't get any error messages (the requireAuth() function don't get called in this case).
I use the latest version of simplesamlphp v.1.18.3
If you need any more information, please let me know.
Honestly it looks like your path is messed up on the require... are you sure you should be using:
require 'var/www/simplesamlphp/lib/_autoload.php';
and not
require '/var/www/simplesamlphp/lib/_autoload.php';
Do you really have a 'var/www' subdirectory relative to the location of the script? That looks wrong to me. If you include that first / before var it makes that path absolute to the typical install location for SSP.
Thank you all for your help. I discovered this morning the issue. The issue was the autoloader which I use for my own application. I registered the application autoloader in another file which gets executed before the code you see above. And simplesamlphp uses some conditions like:
if (!class_exists($className))
And beacuse I registered my application autoloader before the function class_exists checked if the class exists in my application. In my application I don't use namespaces and this was the issue.
To fix this issue, I unregistered my application autoloader before using the simplesamlphp code and registered the autoloader again after the simplesamlphp code.
I hope this will save some of you headaches.
I'm trying to get a TYPO3 v8 system updated to TYPO3 v9, but when it comes to unit-testing, I got some errors. I was able to fix some of them on my own but this one here's a very difficult one for me, because unit-testing is somewhat new to me in general.
I already searched the web, the TYPO3 documentation (which seems like the important parts are missing?), asked some friends and tried some things on my own, but nothing helped.
$this->environmentMock = $this->createMock(Environment::class);
$this->environmentMock->expects($this->once())
->method("::isCli")
->will($this->returnValue(TRUE));
I'm expecting to manually override the static function ::isCli() that comes with the Environment class. If that's not possible, is there any other "workaround", like setting a protected variable or something like that?
Currently this is my error message:
Trying to configure method "::isCli" which cannot be configured because it does not exist, has not been specified, is final, or is static
Thanks in advance!
Update 1:
After using #susis tip, I get the following error when appending the code:
TypeError: Return value of TYPO3\CMS\Core\Core\Environment::getContext() must be an instance of TYPO3\CMS\Core\Core\ApplicationContext, null returned
Additional information: My project is just an extension folder with TYPO3 v9 sources required in its own composer.json. No web, no htdocs, just the extension folder.
Update 2:
Here's a full gist of my test file.
Update 3:
Even the debugger isn't helping me in this case, see attached screenshot:
xdebug phpstorm applicationcontext environment screenshot
Update 4:
I updated the gist, added the environment vars to the phpunit.xml file and added parent::setUp() to the top of the setUp() method but the error is still the same:
TypeError : Return value of TYPO3\CMS\Core\Core\Environment::getContext() must be an instance of TYPO3\CMS\Core\Core\ApplicationContext, null returned
/Users/xyz/my_redirect/public/typo3/sysext/core/Classes/Core/Environment.php:97
/Users/xyz/my_redirect/Tests/Unit/Hooks/RequestHandlerHookTest.php:41
Update 5:
I updated the gist and removed the environment settings from the phpunit.xml due to what I've seen that they didn't work either. At this moment, the test is working but I'm still not sure if it's done the right way. Thanks for your help!
You can initialize the Environment you want in your tests, for example with:
Environment::initialize(
Environment::getContext(),
true,
false,
Environment::getProjectPath(),
Environment::getPublicPath(),
Environment::getVarPath(),
Environment::getConfigPath(),
Environment::getBackendPath() . '/index.php',
Environment::isWindows() ? 'WINDOWS' : 'UNIX'
);
This is the same way as it is done in TYPO3 Core tests and allows you to customize the complete environment. If you are using the TYPO3 testing framework / UnitTestCase base classes, you can use the property protected $backupEnvironment = true; to make sure the environment is reset after your test.
For an example, you can have a look at the ResourceCompressorIntegrationTest
I'm using this library to implement the Nexmo SMS service on my server. I required the library using Composer like so:
"require" : {
"prawnsalad/nexmo": "dev-master"
}
which I found here and followed the instructions included in the README like so:
require 'vendor/autoload.php';
use NexmoMessage;
$phone = '123456789';
$sms = new NexmoMessage(NEXMO_KEY, NEXMO_SECRET);//defined in another file
$sms->sendText($phone, 'from', "yo");//$phone is a valid number in actual case
However I keep getting the error in the title of this question. I see that Composer has imported the library successfully and I see the class and constructor for NexmoMessage, yet for some reason this error keeps happening no matter what I do. I'm not sure if this is due to an issue with the library or with how I'm using Composer. I've never had an issue with Composer in the past so I'm boggled why this is happening here. Thanks
Well, that library states that it supports PSR-4, which means they absolutely MUST use PHP namespaces, but they don't. That last commit 8 months ago https://github.com/prawnsalad/Nexmo-PHP-lib/commit/8e422c4f8f43c52acb70ebd5f9e7c6ff81a1f352 broke the autoloading. And nobody noticed up to today.
You can easily tell by looking at the source code: There is no namespace being used.
Your best action now would be to fix this issue and send a pull request! Github allows to edit files in the browser! Second best action would be to create an issue and let the authors know.
I'm using PHP 5.4, and have a PSR-0 class structure similar to the following.
A\Library\Session.php:
namespace A\Library;
class Session { ... }
My\Application\Session.php:
namespace My\Application;
class Session { ... }
My\Application\Facebook.php:
namespace My\Application;
use A\Library\Session;
class Facebook { ... }
When I try to run the application, I get the following error:
Cannot use A\Library\Session as Session because the name is already in use in My\Application\Facebook.php
Even though it's not, at least not in this file. The Facebook.php file declares only the Facebook class, and imports exactly one Session class, the A\Library one.
The only problem I can see is that another Session class exists in the same namespace as the Facebook class, but as it was never imported in the Facebook.php file, I thought it did not matter at all.
Am I wrong (in that case please point to the relevant documentation), or is this a bug?
There is a bug confirmed in PHP that may affect the behavior you see. It is supposed to fatal error, but with opcache enabled, it may still execute flawlessly.
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=66773
If it still concerns you, please vote for the bug.
No, this is not a bug. As mentioned in Using namespaces: Aliasing/Importing
use A\Library\Session;
is the same as:
use A\Library\Session as Session;
So try using something like:
use A\Library\Session as AnotherSessionClassName;
The only problem I can see is that another Session class exists in the
same namespace as the Facebook class, but as it was never imported in
the Facebook.php file, I thought it did not matter at all.
Yes, it does matter. This is why you don't need to "import" classes from the same namespace. If you have conflicting names from different namespaces, you need to alias the class.
namespace My\Application;
use A\Library\Session as ASession; // choose a proper alias name here
class Facebook { ... }
I've read the thread about the issue, but I tested on many PHP versions (php 5.5, 5.6, 7.*, x32, x64, vc11, vc14, vc5). I'm using Laravel with Laragon. But, when I build up the server with php artisan serve (and open the server at http://localhost:8000) I have the problem of "the namespace that some Class was already used" and stuff.
I tested with and without opcache extension and nothing works, then I tested the virtual domain that Laragon provides and... voila, the error just disappeared and now I can work OK. I don't know what was happening, my namespaces were OK, I had an alias but the same code works in many machine without problem (AWS, local, prod, dev, etc) but only in my machine I had the problem just as I described it.
So, if someone is working with Laravel (5.1) and is having this issue, try the virtual host of Laragon.
A big beginner of Zend-framework on PHP calls, I could include it on Netbeans IDE. Now I'm trying to use it to achieve a Lucene indexer and searcher using Zend_Lucene, I followed the getting started of the official site, unfortunately they explain the whole thing with just few words. Anyway, I copied pasted this $index = Zend_Search_Lucene::create($indexPath);, but I got a message onto this line saying: Fatal error: Class 'Zend_Search_Lucene' not found in C:\wamp\www\witswork\luceneTry.php
means that the function still unknown, maybe, some files need to be copied on my project folder but really I'm running out of ideas right now.
Accept my regards,
dany90.
You need to load the php file which contains the Zend_Search_Lucene class first. One option is to load your/path/to/library/Zend/Search/Lucene.php:
require_once 'my/path/to/library/Zend/Search/Lucene.php';
$index = new Zend_Search_Lucene::create($indexPath);
This class loads all its dependencies, so you don't need to worry about that.
Another option is to use the autoloader of Zend, Zend_Loader_Autoloader. This class is a singleton and registers itself with spl_autoload() when you retrieve it for the first time:
$autoloader = Zend_Loader_Autoloader::getInstance();
$index = new Zend_Search_Lucene::create($indexPath);
After the autoloader is loaded, you just can use Zend_Search_Lucene without the require_once() call. In the manual of Zend Framework you can find more information about the autoloader.
