I'm trying to turn Minecraft names into UUIDs, which can be converted into a "name history". I have the name->UUID part down pat, but the name history is getting an error.
Running this code, the $uuid variable contains an array of all the UUIDs I'm trying to convert into a name history - I then try to run all of them through the API, and depending on how many past names the user has, add » icons to signify a change. Unfortunately, with test data of something like this:
Foo
Bar (changed to Baz)
it outputs
Array | Array » Array |
, not the
Foo | Bar » Baz |
it's supposed to. I know I'm probably getting the array as an object, but I don't know where I would be doing that or how to get the element instead.
(and here's the code)
$uuid_real = json_decode($uuid, TRUE);
foreach($uuid_real as $uuid_totest){
$toadd = json_decode(file_get_contents('https://api.mojang.com/user/profiles/' . $uuid_totest['id'] . '/names'), TRUE);
if(count($toadd)==1){
$results .= $toadd['0'] . " | ";
}elseif(count($toadd)==2){
$results .= $toadd['0'] . " » " . $toadd['1'] . " | ";
}elseif(count($toadd)==3){
$results .= $toadd['0'] . " » " . $toadd['1'] . " » " . $toadd['2'] . " | ";
}
Here is var_dump for $toadd with some currently online users:

It is because $toadd[0] $toadd[1] and $toadd[2] are arrays not strings, please provide here var_dump($toadd) and we can help you
EDIT:
So as you can see there is no string under $toadd[x] but an array looking like this :
array(1) {
["name"]=>
string(10) "lottie1664"
}
so modify your code and use :
$toadd[0]['name']
$toadd[1]['name']
$toadd[2]['name']

I want to be able to run through the array, and print the destination address and the distance and time values.
This prints the destination addresses ok:
$length=count($properties);
for($a=0;$a<$length;$a++)
{
echo '</br>Index is ' . $a . ' | id is ' . $index[$a] . ' | destination is ' . $properties["destination_addresses"][$a] . ' | time is ';
}
But I can't figure out how to print the rest. I've been banging my head against the wall all night!
Thank you in anticipation.
To loop over all these journeys and print the distance and time for each potential journey, create a foreach loop and then use the $idx to address the subordinate parts of the muleiple arrays
foreach( $destination['destination_addresses'] as $idx => $to ) {
if ( $destination['rows'][0]['elements'][$idx]['status'] == 'OK' ) {
echo 'Going from ' . $destination['origin_addresses'][0];
echo ' To ' . $to;
echo ' Distance ' . $destination['rows'][0]['elements'][$idx]['distance']['text'];
echo ' Duration ' . $destination['rows'][0]['elements'][$idx]['duration']['text'];
} else {
//whatever you do if the status is not OK
}
}

Thank you
First I noticed you used $data both as array and item in your loop.
In the following code, I assumed that you don't want the first index (the query wasn't clear).
Also, replace the DB connection credentials.
$con = new mysqli('db_host', 'username', 'password', 'db_name');
$boundArray = array_fill(0, 5, null);
$query = "INSERT INTO `algeaSpecies` (`genusName`, `speciesEpiteth`, `author`, `publication`, `TurkishName`) VALUES (?,?,?,?,?);";
$stmt = $con->prepare($query);
$stmt->bind_param("sssss", ...$boundArray);
foreach ($data as $item) {
$i = -1;
foreach ($item as $index) {
if ($i === -1) {
$i++;
continue;
}
$boundArray[$i++] = $index[0];
}
$stmt->execute();
}
$stmt->close();
$con->close();
array(2) { [0]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(16) "Daerah Pertanian" ["sub"]=> array(6) { [0]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(5) "Sawah" ["value"]=> string(3) "145" } [1]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(18) "Sawah Pasang Surut" ["value"]=> string(3) "455" } [2]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(6) "Ladang" ["value"]=> string(3) "678" } [3]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(10) "Perkebunan" ["value"]=> string(3) "688" } [4]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(19) "Perkebunan Campuran" ["value"]=> string(3) "966" } [5]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(16) "Tanaman Campuran" ["value"]=> string(3) "565" } } } [1]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(22) "Daerah Bukan Pertanian" ["sub"]=> array(2) { [0]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(18) "Hutan Lahan Kering" ["sub"]=> array(2) { [0]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(25) "Hutan Lahan Kering Primer" ["value"]=> string(3) "566" } [1]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(27) "Hutan Lahan Kering Sekunder" ["value"]=> string(3) "255" } } } [1]=> array(2) { ["name"]=> string(17) "Hutan Lahan Basah" ["sub"]=> array(2) { [0]=> array(1) { ["name"]=> string(24) "Hutan Lahan Basah Primer" } [1]=> array(1) { ["name"]=> string(26) "Hutan Lahan Basah Sekunder" } } } } } }
I have an array like I mention above, so I want to print out every "name" key including the index (number) of it's array parent,
for example when I print out "Tanaman Campuran" so all index parent is (0)(5) and when I print "Hutan Lahan Basah Sekunder" the index parent is (1)(1)(1)
how can I achieve it?
here is some recursive function that I've tried
$GLOBALS['all'] = '';
function printout($arr){
foreach ($arr as $ia=>$a){
if(is_array($a)){
foreach ($a as $ib=>$b){
if(is_array($b)){
printout($b);
}
else{
if ($ib == 'name') {
$GLOBALS['all'] .= $ia;
echo '<tr>';
echo '<td>' . $b . ' (' . $ia . ')</td>';
echo '</tr>';
$GLOBALS['all'] = '';
}
}
}
}
}
}
*sorry for my bad explanation, I hope you guys can understand it
You could use the following function:
function search(array $array, $name)
{
foreach ($array as $key => $entry) {
if ($entry['name'] === $name) {
return [$key];
}
if (isset($entry['sub']) && $found_keys = search($entry['sub'], $name)) {
return array_merge([$key], $found_keys);
}
}
return null;
}
It returns:
if the value was directly found, an array of one containing the associated index,
if it wasn't but was found in any descendant item, an array merging its index with the indices of said descendant,
null if it wasn't found in that part of the tree.
Note: if a given name is present several times, it will only find the first occurrence.

I am calling a REST Api to get data using curl in php. It gives me the list of data/contents in the api in Array php format.
I was able to get single element value using $resultArray[0]['nid'][0]['value'];. But my goal is to get elements in all contents in the api.
Say I want to get the following elements in the nested arrays.
$resultArray[0]['nid'][0]['value'];
$resultArray[0]['vid'][0]['value'];
$resultArray[0]['cid'][0]['value'];
And use these values in a loop too.
I am trying to search how I can do it loop, and if anyone can provide sample code, that would be appreciated.
Update:
This is the sample result of var_dump:
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(38) {
["nid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(1)
}
}
["vid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(2)
}
}
["cid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(3)
}
}
["field"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(4) {
["target_id"]=>
int(4)
}
}
}
[1]=>
array(38) {
["nid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(11)
}
}
["vid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(22)
}
}
["cid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(33)
}
}
["field"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(4) {
["target_id"]=>
int(44)
}
}
}
[2]=>
array(38) {
["nid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(111)
}
}
["vid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(222)
}
}
["cid"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(1) {
["value"]=>
int(333)
}
}
["field"]=>
array(1) {
[0]=>
array(4) {
["target_id"]=>
int(444)
}
}
}
}
And I want to use these elements values in a loop.
Say my expected result is.
Test1 = "1", "2", "3"
Test2 = "11", "22", "33"
Test3 = "111", "222", "333"
These equivalent numbers should be comming from the element nid, vid, cid.
I dont just want to assign/echo these values in the result as I have array[100s] in one api call.
Since your array is a multidimensional array, you need to have nested foreach loops:
$test = 1;
foreach ($resultArray as $items) {
// Echo the current test number
echo "Test{$test} = ";
$values = [];
foreach ($items as $item) {
// Get the correct value.
if (array_key_exists('value', $item[0])) {
$values[] = $item[0]['value'];
continue;
}
if (array_key_exists('target_id', $item[0])) {
$values[] = $item[0]['target_id'];
continue;
}
}
echo '"' . implode('", "', $values) . '"' . "\n";
$test++;
}

I have a problem with preg_match_all.
While preg_match does reply the whole match as the first element of the array, preg_match_all doesn't - the first array is empty.
At least with the pattern I chose (havn't tried others since it's the one I need) it doesn't work.
Here is my code:
preg_match_all("/<\?\?(\t| )?translate(\t| )?;(\t| )?(.*)(\t| )?\?\?>/U", $file, $translate_info);
The pattern itself is working and producing subpattern matches.
Updated according to new given details :
$file = '<?? translate ; foo bar??>';
$res = preg_match_all('/<\?\?(\t| )?translate(\t| )?;(\t| )?(.*)(\t| )?\?\?>/U', $file, $translate_info);
echo "res='$res'\n";
var_dump($translate_info);
Works for me, it gives :
res='1'
