I set up all the basic setup for Codeigniter Framework.
My Code:
controllers/index.php:
include "file_name.php"; //In my case APPPATH . "controllers/user/user_data.php"
controllers/user/file_name.php: //In my case controllers/user/user_data.php
<?php
echo "Welcome";
class File_name
{
function index()
{
echo "this is index";
# code...
}
}
Output:
What I getting:
welcome
What I need:
welcome this is index
My problem is I have file_path instead of file_name in include, so I am unable to create Object for the file.?
In your index.php file:
include "file_name.php";
$file_name_obj = new File_Name();
$file_name_obj->index();
In your file_name.php file change:
function index()
to:
public function index ()
echo "Welcome ";
$fileName = new File_name();
$fileName->index();
if your trying to include a file, be sure to remember that your using a framework, CI. the proper way of including a file using codeigniter is using the "$this->load->view('name of file');" method, because , there are instance that using the include cause an error because it use preferably for pure php style not framework style.

I want to include a class from file own.php but I am not able to include it as it giving me error as require(class.own.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory .
I tried all the options i.e include, require, require_once but then also it showing me a error.
include("class/own.php");
own.php
<?php
class own{
public function title(){
$title = $_POST['title'];
echo $title;
}
}
?>
display.php
include("class/own.php");
$obj = new own;
$obj->title();
Your directory structure should be like this
display.php
class/own.php
Then try to include
include("class/own.php");
The use
$obj = new own(); OR $obj = new \own();
$obj->title();
use this:
<?php
class own {
function title() {
$this->model = $_POST['title'];
}
}
// create an object
$test = new own();
// show object properties
echo $test->model;
?>
I think the two files are in the same path (directory), so you are including wrong path. It might be include("own.php");
Considering the following directory structure.
|directory
display.php
own.php
display.php
<?php
include("own.php");
$obj = new own;
$obj->title();
?>
I think you are confusing PHP. To include the file the following code may help
include (__DIR__)."/own.php";
I have a file called test1.php with lots of variable and some function definitions. I am trying to include this file to one another file called test2.php and use the variables and the functions.
test1.php
$i = "a";
$ii = "b";
$iii = "c";
function test1a(){ return "lol"; }
test2.php
function test2a(){ include 'test1.php'; return $i; }
function test2b() { include 'test1.php'; return test2c(); }
function test2c(){ include 'test1.php'; return $iii; }
function test2d() { include 'test1.php'; return test1a(); }
index.php
include 'test2.php'
echo test2a();
echo test2b();
echo test2c();
echo test2d();
Reason:
I have the same code base in two different servers. Only the test2.php file will be different.Each server will have different values inside the test2.php but with same variable name. test2.php will act somewhat like a localization file.
My problem is some of the variables or not showing up. Is there a better way to do this. I don't want to include the file in every function.
Thanks.
Just do it the other way round:
put all the different variables into one file in to an array, without any functions:
//config.php
$config['setting1'] = "val1";
$config['setting2'] = "val2";
$config['setting3'] = 42;
...
and further:
//index.php
include_once("config.php");
echo $config['setting1'];
....
now you may have different configs on different servers w/o need to change any functions.
You are trying to include file with one function several times. Functions are always global. So second include gives you an fatal error Fatal error: Cannot redeclare test1a() (previously declared in [..]).
You should put this function to separate file and use include_once.
I have just created a class to control my php application, and I have one big problem ( I use 2 days for thinking and searching about it but can't find any solutions). My class contains a method named register(), which load scripts into pages. My class is:
class Apps
{
protected $_remember; // remember something
public function register($appName)
{
include "$appName.php"; //include this php script into other pages
}
public function set($value)
{
$this->_remember = $value; // try to save something
}
public function watch()
{
return $this->_remember; // return what I saved
}
}
And in time.php file
$time = 'haha';
$apps->set($time);
As the title of my question , when I purely include time.php into main.php, I can use $apps->set($time) ($apps has been defined in main.php). Like this main.php:
$apps = new Apps();// create Apps object
include "time.php";
echo $apps->watch(); // **this successfully outputs 'haha'**
But when I call method register() from Apps class to include time.php , I got errors undefined variable $apps and call set method from none object for time.php (sounds like it doesn't accept $apps inside time.php to me) . My main.php is:
$apps = new Apps();// create Apps object
$apps->register('time'); // this simply include time.php into page and it has
//included but time.php doesn't accept $apps from main.php
echo $apps->watch(); // **this outputs errors as I said**
By the way , I'm not good at writing . So if you don't understand anything just ask me. I appreciate any replies. :D
If you want your second code snippet to work, replace the content of time.php with:
$time = 'haha';
$this->set($time); // instead of $apps->set($time);
since this code is included by an instance method of the Apps class, it will have access to the instance itself, $this.
I am working in yii framework.I am getting stuck at a point where I have to call a function inside controller in yii framework from core php file. Actually I am going to create html
snapshot.
my folder structure is
seoPravin--
--protected
--modules
--kp
--Dnycontentcategoriescontroller.php
--DnycontentvisitstatController.php
--themes
--start.php (This is my customized file)
--index.php
1) Code of start.php file :--
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
<?php
if (!empty($_REQUEST['_escaped_fragment_']))
{
$yii=dirname(__FILE__).'/yii_1.8/framework/yii.php';
require_once($yii);
$escapeFragment=$_REQUEST['_escaped_fragment_'];
$arr=explode('/',$escapeFragment);
include 'protected/components/Controller.php';
include 'protected/modules/'.$arr[0].'/controllers/'.$arr[1].'Controller.php';
echo DnycontentcategoriesController::actiongetDnyContent(); //gettting error at this point
?>
</head>
<body>
<?php
//echo "<br> ".$obj->actiongetDnyContent();
}
?>
</body>
</html>
2) yii side controller function : This function work for normal but when I am calling using escaped_fragment it gives error
public static function actiongetDnyContent()
{
if (!empty($_REQUEST['_escaped_fragment_']))//code inside if statement not working
{
$escapedFragment=$_REQUEST['_escaped_fragment_'];
$arr=explode('/',$escapedFragment);
$contentTitleId=end($arr);
$model = new Dnycontentvisitstat(); //Error got at this line
}
else //Below code is working properly
{
$dependency = new CDbCacheDependency('SELECT MAX(createDateTime) FROM dnycontent');
$content = new Dnycontent();
$content->contentTitleId = $_GET['contentTitleId'];
$content = $content->cache(2592000,$dependency)->getContent();
$userId=105;
$ipAddress=Yii::app()->request->userHostAddress;
echo "{\"contents\":[".CJSON::encode($content)."]} ";
$model = new Dnycontentvisitstat();
$model->save($_GET['contentTitleId'], $userId, $ipAddress);
}
}
error:
Fatal error: Class 'Dnycontentvisitstat' not found in
C:\wamp\www\seoPravin\protected\modules\KnowledgePortal\controllers\DnycontentcategoriesController.php
on line 289
code is working for normal url but not working for _esaped_fragment
It is a very bad practice but you can do a HTTP self request, like this:
include("http://{$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']}/path/?r=controller/action&_param={$_GET['param']}");
Check http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.include.php to see how to enable HTTP includes.
NOTE: UPDATED MY QUESTION
I am using zend.I have the file "stylesettings.php" under css folder. Having the following line to convert php file to css.
header("Content-type: text/css");
stylesetting.php is under application/css/stylesettings.php
Now i want to get the color code from my DB in stylesettings.php.Here i can write basic DB connection code to get values from DB. I guess there might be another way to get all DB values by using zend. How can we connect DB like "Zend_Db_Table_Abstract" in stylesettings file ?
Is it possible to use zend component in that file ? Kindly advice on this.
I hope you understand.
You are breaking the basic separated model assumed in a MVC framework. For such color code, if it's only used in one place, I would suggest that you output the color in the "style="color: <color>"" in-line style in order to keep the dynamic part in HTML and your CSS file static.
If you really want to do this, then you should consider output your dynamic stylesheet in a URL path other than css, and use the controller/views etc to generate the stylesheet.
i am using the following way to apply color settings in layout.phtml
Use below code in bootstrap file
<?php
require_once 'plugins/StyleController.php';
class Bootstrap extends Zend_Application_Bootstrap_Bootstrap {
protected function _initRouter() {
$front = Zend_Controller_Front::getInstance ();
$front->setControllerDirectory ( dirname ( __FILE__ ) . '/controllers' );
$router = $front->getRouter ();
$front->registerPlugin ( new StyleController ( $router ) );
}
}
Created folder plugins under application and create a new file called stylecontroller.php
<?php
class StyleController extends Zend_Controller_Plugin_Abstract
{
public function preDispatch(Zend_Controller_Request_Abstract $request)
{
$layout = Zend_Layout::getMvcInstance();
$view = $layout->getView();
/* code for getting color settings */
$this->settings = new Admin_Model_DbTable_Settings();
$view->colorsettings = $this->settings->getStyleSettings();
//print_obj($view->colorsettings);
}
}
?>
Also to get color code,
<?php
class Admin_Model_DbTable_Settings extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract
{
public function getStyleSettings()
{
$select = $this->_db->select()
->from('style_settings');
$result = $this->getAdapter()->fetchAll($select);
return $result['0'];
}
}
?>
By using above code i can able to use $this->colorsettings in layout page.
This one fix my dynamic color in layout but not in other template files.
