I am trying to create json manually using string in php by parsing an xml file. I created the whole json but when i am validating it; i can see unnecessary line breaks in between which causes the validation to fail.

As you can see that the line is breaking for url.
In the php code i am just concatenating directly.

I agree with the comments, that you shouldn't create it manually.
However, to answer your question...
I copied your JSON and looked at it, and all the URLs have a space between : and // in the http://.

As you can see, you also have a space after each colon ":", i.e. between the colon and the JSON value.
I guess you have another function (not posted here), which adds the space after each colon and it does that for URL as well.

I don't get the json_response.
In the table of database, there are 1200 records. If I try to insert an echo message in while cycle, I see it.
I have noticed that the problem lays with this field:

If I remove this field from the response, I can correctly see the json response.
In this field there are any character from a-z/0-9 and special character like "/ * ? - and other".
It is possible that these special character can cause any error of the json answer?

First, remove those extraneous quote characters. You don't need them and they could hurt you down the road:

Then, run your query as is (without the LIMIT), and afterwards run echo json_last_error_msg()';, which could give you a hint to what's going on.
Also, being that your DB is in italian, maybe its encoding is not UTF-8. json_encode requires UTF-8 encoded data. So you may try to utf8_encode your article names before json_encoding the array:

And see what you get.
Changing your DB charset to 'utf8mb4' could do the trick as well, and it is usually recommended.
Not an experienced developer and using CodeIgniter for the first time. I'm trying to grab a signed URL for a given MP3 filename stored in S3. This is currently working with the exception of files that contain brackets.

As you can see I either pass $streamfile or $streamfiletest. In the debug I can confirm that both variables are the same string.
When passing $streamfile to the URL request, the URL in the response is incorrect:

Actually, not quite.
If you look closely, it becomes apparent what the url escaped values must mean:
%26%2340%3B %26%2341%3B
& # 40 ; & # 41 ;
Those are numeric html character codes that the browser will display as ( and ) but it does not in fact mean that the two strings have identical content. They only appear to.
The solution, of course, depends on how they are getting transformed that way, and either not doing that, or decoding the numeric character codes.
Try doing the following to decode the url encoded brackets
$data['filename'] = urldecode($url);
This should return the string to its expected format ie with brackets

If the JSON input to the PHP script really is this JSON

then PHP's json_decode should handle it without problems.

which shows the JSON decodes to a proper PHP array. An array of strings, to be precise, and not numbers as requested. Turning the strings into numbers in PHP will be easy to do, but maybe you could also make sure on the call site that you send numbers and not strings.
If your original code does not work, I guess the incoming data is either no properly encoded JSON or there is some magic escaping going on (magic quotes hell, should be turned off in today's PHP, but could be a reason for garbled script input).
To make sure your JSON data is not truncated and to also save you from potential URL-encoding issues, I also suggest sending the JSON via HTTP POST, not HTTP GET.
I am primarily a PHP developer and have limited experience with Perl.
I was tasked with writing a queue script in Perl which checks against a database, and that is all working out great.
The problem I have is that in the Perl script I need to include a database hostname and password.
Right now I have them hard coded, which works fine, but my PHP application uses a global PHP array which holds the database hostname and password.I'd like to be able to use this PHP array in my Perl script.

You've discovered one of the many reasons why code makes for bad config files. You should move the information to an actual config file, and access that file from both that .php file and from Perl.
JSON would make a decent file format here.

On the PHP side, just replace the contents of the file you showed in your post with code to read the config file. I don't know PHP, but it should be quite simple. A quick search shows it might be

It would be simple to provide a short PHP program that dumps the array to a file in JSON format. That file can then be read from Perl using the JSON module.

There is PHP::Include, which uses a source filter to let you have PHP blocks in your Perl code to declare variables. It also has a read_file() function that applies such a filter to a single PHP file.
But it seems to expect that your PHP has assignments (e.g. $config = array('database' => array(...) and changes those to Perl variable declarations.
In a few minutes of playing with it, I couldn't get it to do anything useful with your PHP code that uses return.
If you want a more "native Perl" solution, you can pretty much* just search and replace all your "array(" and their matching ")" to "{" and "}". That'll give you a perl datastructure called a "hash of hashes" (note: Unlike PHP, Perl refers to arrays with integer indicies as arrays (and uses the # sigil to denote variables containing them), but refers to array-like things with string indicies as "hashes" (and uses the % sigil to denote variables containing them)). The Perl keywords/concepts you probably want to read up on are:

I said "pretty much", because your sample data used the bare word 'true' for the slave->profile value - that's a syntax error in Perl - you can change it to a bare 1, or quote the value as "true" to make it work. In Perl, the digit zero, the string "0" or the empty/nul string "" all evaluate to "false" in a boolean context, anything else evaluates to "true". Take care if you choose to automate PHP to Perl translation, there may be other PHP-isms which could catch you out like that.
So much good information here and it helped me out quite a bit to come up with a working solution.
Here is the perl script I've got working:

I've been using the Google Finance API to successfully gather some stock info. The problem is that after a call to http://www.google.com/finance/info?infotype=infoquoteall&q=[$tickerSymbol], the JSON that Google returns has // added before it and therefore the string cannot be encoded using PHP's json_encode(). The JSONLint JSON Validator confirms that the //s are not valid. The obvious workaround is to strip the slashes from the beginning of the JSON. None-the-less, I am left wondering why Google is adding slashes to the JSON it is returning. Is there a purpose behind the extra slashes? Is this a quirk with PHP's json_encode() when other languages would simply ignore the extra characters? Am I doing something incorrectly?

For those looking for a ready answer, here is a working example with PHP; The JSON is cleaned and transformed into an object. Values can easily be extracted.
The second is just to make it more awesome, it sends a push message you a PubNub channel when page is accessed (cron is your friend). PubNub message can easily be received via javascript hence live...

of course if you need something live updating all the time there are better options. I was just looking to update every 30min/60min.
I guess it's because google don't want you to work with that JSON, they recommend to use the Google Data API.
