I installed phpBB on my localhost and can access it via localhost/myProject/board/, while my normal access path to my website would be localhost/myProject/?s=home
I want to include phpBB into my site in a way that it won't feel like a different site anymore, but behaves more like an iframe. I tried adding a board.php which just executes
include("viewforum.php");
and is accessed via localhost/myProject/?s=board. Result should be my basic .html site, with the phpBB included in the contentArea. However it doesn't work by giving errors like
WARNING: INCLUDE(/BOARD/COMMON.PHP): FAILED TO OPEN STREAM: NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY
I googled a bit and can't find a solution for this. My train of thought here is that board.php could act as a wrapper around the phpBB and include the whole stuff in my side to act like an iframe AND handle the GET parameters. For example when browsing normally in the phpBB i get URLs like
http://localhost/myProject/board/viewforum.php?f=2
This should be handled by the wrapper by wrapping the GET parameters like
http://localhost/myProject/?s=board&boardSite=viewforum&f=2
Is something like that possible without to much effort?
Thanks in advance!
One way to do this is that you may find a similar scheme theme to add to the forum and add required menu at the top by using html & css code from the main site's menu.
Well, the most easiest and worst way is to use an iframe. It would display the board in a frame inside the page. It virtually makes linking imposibble and has other negative side-effects.
You will have a very hard time attempt to embed it like this. The application is not designed to be wrapped like this.
Your best bet is to adapt the phpBB styles to your website templates.

I use MyBB for forum and Wordpress for blog. When I try to integrate both together into a page, I get conflicts between functions. The forum header and the wordpress includes have some functions with the same identifier.
I need both functions but I obviously can't change the name of something inside wordpress or mybb.
What are the solutions to these conflicting problems?
Can I deinclude an included file?
If I could use iframe then it wouldn't look good with the scrolls and the border. If this is the only way then how can I remove the border and the scrollbars so that it would look exactly the same when the code was in the original page itself?
First of all: That is a hell of a task.
Still thou, if you aim to do it, read up on namespaces.
I figure it is possible to add those to all wordpress classes and all myBB classes.
You would have to do a lot of rewriting, but some search and replace tools using regular expressions should be able to help you with that.
You could also try to havew them seperately (yourdomain.com/myBB and yourdomain.com/wp) and integrate them via webservices. So you myBB would access wordpress data via RSS?
I have a typo3 website with no user genrated or dynamic content.
So it is unnecessary to use php and the database.
Is it possible (with php) to clone the hole website and store every page as an html page?
I have only a normal webspace, so i cant install tools like "eAccelerator".
My idea:
- grab every link from the sitemap
- file_get_contents -> store as html
But i think this is not a clean solution? Or?
Thanks in advance!

you can use a simple software called HTTRACK., here is the link:
httrack.com
Why you need to use php to copy it? Did you consider using a command line tool like wget? wget allows you to create an "offline" copy of a website which you can of course host somewhere else. Sounds to me exactly like the thing you want to do.
In case you are really stucked to php, you will need an HttpRequest, call the site, parse all links and resources, download the resources, follow the links and do the same again. This is the most simple solution, without any checking for conflicting resources or other stuff which could go wrong.
Sitesucker http://sitesucker.us is an excellent tool you can run from any mac. It works very well, I use it all the time.
But don't forget that by creating a static copy of your site, you will lose your templating functionality. So if you really want to make your website static, I strongly recommend to - at least - put the identical parts of each page into php-includes. Mostly head, page header, footer, navigation. So you're ready for future changes.
If it's just because your TYPO3 is too slow, look at the nc_staticfilecache extension which can speed it up very well.
Using TYPO3 where you need just a simple HTML is a huge overflow, invest in DreamWeaver and code all things 'manually'.
Until now, I've been using the <iframe> tag to load things like headers/footers/navbars into my webpage. These cause so much hassle though and as I'm about to start building a new site I thought I'd get it sorted now.
I was thinking of having all the html code in a php file and just loading it in dynamically.. Ideally I'd like the code to become a part of the page. So it appears inline. But I also want to be able to edit one single file if I need to change one bit rather than editing the same file 100 times.
<iframe>'s did this well until recently and I don't want to use workarounds to solve my problems. Could someone please post some code I could adapt or post a link to something that tells me how to do this? Cheers
You can use PHP's include() function to include elements like headers and footers in your pages.
So:
include('header.php');
. . . will look for a file called header.php in the same directory and include it in your page. Then you just need to write this at the top of your pages.
That said, this isn't really a very good way to go about designing your site. How about looking for a content management system, that allows you to keep the design and content of your site separate?
Are PHP includes what you're looking for ? http://php.net/manual/en/function.include.php
I have a site complete with CMS etc all working under one domain name. It turns out for legal reasons one page on this site has to sit on a different domain name. The page is hooked into the same CMS as the rest of the site (built using codeigniter). I don't want to have to do another installation just for this page.
Is there any simple way to display just this page under a different domain name without taking it out of the current application?
Thanks a lot
You should look at either (in order):
an include()with correct php.ini configuration
a file_get_content() and printing the variable into your page
an <iframe src="yoururl"> wich would be the easy peasy but unsafe way
using the on-purprose curllibrary
using fopen() wich theorically allows distant files to be opened, but based on my experience, it's not that reliable
Look at this site, it seems rather exhaustive regarding your problem.
Try including the file
<?php include 'http://www.domain.com/url/to/file/page.html' ?>
I think what you need here is a symlink, which is something I don't know too much about. My understanding is that the path displayed to the user does not in fact have to have anything to do with where the file is actually stored, meaning you can set this up to have a completely different URL while keeping it as part of your original application.
A simpler thing is doing a redirect...it's one line of code in your .htaccess file and you're good to go.
include is a possible solution depending on the format of the remote page (ie, this won't work very well if the remote page has a full DOM structure, and you're trying to include the remote page within the DOM structure of your CMS page), however more information about that remote page would be needed to help determine if include() alone would be enough.
Regardless, if include() does, work, you must make sure allow_url_include in php.ini is enabled, as by default script execution will terminate when encoutering a remote URL include statement.
I'm looking to translate a webpage in PHP 5 so I can save the translation and make it easily accessible via mydomain.com/lang/fr/category/article.html rather than users having to go through google translate.
I've found various easy ways to translate text via CURL, however what i'd really like to be able to do is translate an entire webpage but obviously ignore the tags.
The problem is that Google Translate messes up all the HTML tags, class names etc
Does anyone know of a php class that can translate an entire webpage whilst ignoring the tags?
I'm guessing it may be possible via advanced regular expressions or something like that, but i'm not sure.
I can't just curl Google's response as i'll have all the extra JS that they put in.
Any ideas?
I know it's not quite what you asked for, but a much simpler alternative would just be to include the free Google Translate widget on all your pages. That way visitors select the language they would like to view the site in and Google dynmaically does the rest (and persists their selection throughout the site). You then don't need to worry about trying to create and keep updated dozens of different HTML files for every page, each with it's own set of internal links (which, frankly, sounds like a nightmare to maintain).
