I want to update the json file by overwriting the old one. I can export the data to a json string by using some jquery. And the data is stored in the variable json_update . But I don't know how to send the data to php.
$(function () {
$('#switcher').click(function () {
var json_update = JSON.stringify($('#table-hover').bootstrapTable('getData'));
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "adding2.php",
data: json_update,
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8"
dataType: "json",
success: function (data) {
alert("success");
}
});
});
});
And here is the adding2.php . Thanks for helping me.
<?php
$data = $_POST['json_update'];
$fileHandler = fopen('work2.json', 'w+');
fwrite('work2.json',$data);
fclose($fileHandler);
?>
Give the data a parameter name before sending it:
var json_update = { json_update: JSON.stringify($('#table-hover').bootstrapTable('getData')) };
This will make it accessible in $_POST['json_update']
The data you send from the client side (the value of json_update) is stored in $_POST, so just change $data = $_POST['json_update']; to $data = $_POST;.

I would search for the solution, but I don't know what exactly do I have to search.
The task is to grab texts with ID's (#ftext_1,..._2,..._3,..._4) in html file and send them to php file. After some manipulation with texts in php file I have to insert them back into their ID's in html file.
Here is the code:
var text_1_Replace = $('#ftext_1').text();
var text_2_Replace = $('#ftext_2').text();
var text_3_Replace = $('#ftext_3').text();
var text_4_Replace = $('#ftext_4').text();
$('#ID').on('click', function(){
var text= {
ftext_1: text_1_Replace,
ftext_2: text_2_Replace,
ftext_3: text_3_Replace,
ftext_4: text_4_Replace
}
var targetFile = 'ajax/file.php';
$.ajax({
method: 'post',
url: targetFile ,
data: JSON.stringify(text),
contentType: 'application/JSON'
}).done(function(data) {
console.log(data);
});
});
How do I edit .done function to place new texts in their old ID's(#ftext_1,..._2,..._3,..._4)? The variable with texts array is $result.
so the answer is :
}).done(function(data) {
var text = JSON.parse(data);
var text1 = text.ftext_1;
var text2 = text.ftext_2;
var text3 = text.ftext_3;
var text4 = text.ftext_4;
$('#ftext_1').text(text1);
$('#ftext_2').text(text2);
$('#ftext_3').text(text3);
$('#ftext_4').text(text4);
So, the last update for the topic: The real and nice answer is:
.done(function(data) {
var text = JSON.parse(data);
$.each(text, function(i, val){
$("#" + i).text(val);
});
This code is the solution to my question in this topic. Thank you all, who responded!
The best for you would be send named property that looks like this
$.ajax({
method: 'post',
url: targetFile ,
data: {data: text},
dataType: "json",
success: function(response){
$.each(response, function(element){
$("#"+element.name).text(element.text);
});
}
});
Then in your php you could easily iterate data from post
<?php
$data = $_POST['data'];
$response = [
];
foreach($data as $elementName => $text){
// some text management
$response[] = ['name' => $elementName, 'text' => $text];
}
return json_encode($response);
When you change your received values in php you put them in an array so that you
can call it later easily
PHP
$values = array("one"=>5,
"two"=>"something",
"three"=>$something);
echo json_encode($values);
You need to add
dataType:'json'
in Jquery since you're returning json
JQuery
$.ajax({
method: 'post',
url: targetFile ,
data: JSON.stringify(text), # or data: {"value1":value,"value2":value2},
contentType: 'application/JSON',
dataType:'json',
success: function(response){
console.log(response.one); #Will console 5
console.log(response.two); #Will console "something"
console.log(response.three); #Will console whatever $something holds in php
}
});
You can call it however you want it (response) or (mydata)...
And then you just type response.yourdata (that you declared in php)
JS file:
var jsonsave = [];
var dado = new Object();
dado.name = "bob";
dado.age = "000";
dado.test = "test";
var jason = JSON.stringify(dado);
jsonsave.push(jason);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
dataType: "JSON",
url: "http://localhost/moodle/my/index.php",
data: "data="+jsonsave+"&file=true",
success: function(data){
console.log('work');
},
error: function(data)
{
console.log(data);
}
});
Arquivo php:
$arquivo = $_POST['data'];
$value= json_decode($arquivo, TRUE);
I call a php page from ajax, but i can't take the json's value, it came null,do you have some idea?
In your AJAX call you specified
dataType: "JSON"
which means that your call expects JSON as returned value from server.
On the other hand, on the PHP side you are decoding POST, which is converting JSON to PHP object (structure), and also you are not returning anything.
Solution is simple: send JSON structure back (try with json_encode, maybe in addition with appropriate headers), and that should do to trick.
I have this ajax code
$.ajax(
{
type: "POST",
url: "getData.php",
data: ValueToPass,
cache: false,
success: function(html)
{
LastDiv.after(html);
}
});
I am new with this Ajax thing.
This code is to load getData.php file and send variables through type POST.
The variables are in this var ValueToPass = "lastid="+LastId+"&br="+br;.
Other thing this code does is return the getData.php's HTML after loading.
Probably with this. success: function(html)
How can I return this $br variable from getData.php after loading, so I can use it again through the next cycle. Cuz what happens here is that I can put the variable in the getData.php with the Ajax and working with it, but when the file getData.php is loaded, outside this file, the variable is not known(not declared). And I'm losing the counting :S
I want to return the HTML and the variable.
You can return json data in your php file like
$response = array ('br'=> $br, 'html'=> $html);
echo json_encode($response);
Here both html and data are returned.
And this to use it in your ajax callback :
success: function(data)
{
br = data.br;
LastDiv.after(data.html);
}
I'd consider setting a Session variable with the value from the $br variable passed via AJAX. Then when you call getData.php from another file or location, you can use the Session variable since session variables retain their value anywhere in the session.
You can try this to get the data from your `getData.php' :
$.ajax(
{
type: "POST",
url: "getData.php",
data: { ValueToPass: ValueToPass},
cache: false,
success: function(data)
{
LastDiv.html(data);
}
});
and in your getData.php you have to pass ValueToPass
maybe like this:
$ValueToPass = mysqli_real_escape_string($db, $_POST['ValueToPass']);
If I understand your question correctly, and if you want to return the $br variable then include it in a JSON object in the successs callback function. So, something like this (I'm not familiar enough with PHP so my PHP syntax might be incorrect):
// create JSON object
<?php
$result = array('br' => $br, 'html' => 'htmlContent);
echo json_encode($result);
?>
// return JSON object
$.ajax(
{
type: "POST",
url: "getData.php",
data: ValueToPass,
cache: false,
success: function(result)
{
var $br = result.br;
LastDiv.after(result.html);
}
});
I need to get the distance between two points from JavaScript to PHP using Google Maps. Below is my function to get the distance and post no problems. Now, how can I send the arrays (i.e. volunteerDist and tvid) to another php file (i.e. distanceToDb.php) and what should be the code of my distanceToDb.php to get these data? Thanks! Actual codes is highly appreciated.
<?php
function getFDistance(lat, lng, vlat, vlng, vid) {
var eventlocation = new GLatLng(lat, lng);
var volunteerDist = new Array();
var tvid = new Array();
var volunteerlocation;
for(i=0;i<lat.length;i++) {
tvid[i] = vid[i];
volunteerlocation = new GLatLng(vlat[i], vlng[i]);
volunteerDist[i] = (Math.round((eventlocation.distanceFrom(volunteerlocation) / 1000)*10)/10);
}
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: "distanceToDb.php",
data: {tvid: tvid, volunteerDist: volunteerDist},
success: function(data){
alert("Successful");
},
dataType: "json"
});
}
?>
I've passed arrays and objects using JSON in javascript, let's say through a jquery.post call:
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: "distanceToDb.php",
data: {tvid: tvid, volunteerDist: volunteerDist},
success: successfunction,
dataType: "json"
});
Then, in the php file you just do this:
$js_data_arr = json_decode($_POST['data']);
I'm using zend framework, i would like to get POST data using Jquery ajax post on a to save without refreshing the page.
//submit.js
$(function() {
$('#buttonSaveDetails').click(function (){
var details = $('textarea#details').val();
var id = $('#task_id').val();
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: 'http://localhost/myproject/public/module/save',
async: false,
data: 'id=' + id + '&details=' + details,
success: function(responseText) {
//alert(responseText)
console.log(responseText);
}
});
});
});
On my controller, I just don't know how to retrieve the POST data from ajax.
public function saveAction()
{
$data = $this->_request->getPost();
echo $id = $data['id'];
echo $details = $data['details'];
//this wont work;
}
Thanks in advance.
Set $.ajax's dataType option to 'json', and modify the success callback to read from the received JSON:
$('#buttonSaveDetails').click(function (){
var details = $('textarea#details').val();
var id = $('#task_id').val();
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
dataType: 'json',
url: 'http://localhost/myproject/public/module/save',
async: false,
// you can use an object here
data: { id: id, details: details },
success: function(json) {
console.log(json.id + ' ' + json.details);
}
});
// you might need to do this, to prevent anchors from following
// or form controls from submitting
return false;
});
And from your controller, send the data like this:
$data = $this->_request->getPost();
echo Zend_Json::encode(array('id' => $data['id'], 'details' => $data['details']));
As a closing point, make sure that automatic view rendering has been disabled, so the only output going back to the client is the JSON object.
Simplest way for getting this is:
$details=$this->getRequest()->getPost('details');
$id= $this->getRequest()->getPost('id');
Hope this will work for you.
