Bootstrap navbar vertical not horizontal - php

I am making a mobile responsive site with Bootstrap 3.3.4.
I will be making it with server side includes when I can get the web.config file written up since I am using an IIS server.
This is what the nav bar looks like with just the bar. This is what I want it to look like.
Does Bootstrap not like PHP?

Other elements on the page.

<nav class="navbar navbar-inverse navbar-fixed-top">
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="navbar-header">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Hurricane Tracking</a>
</div>
<div>
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<li class="active">Home</li>
<li>Category Information</li>
<li class="dropdown">
<a class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" href="#">Current
<span class="caret"></span></a>
<ul class="dropdown-menu">
<li>Ana</li>
<!--<li>Bill</li>
<!--<li>Claudette</li>
<!--<li>Danny</li>
<!--<li>Erika</li>
<!--<li>Fred</li>-->
</ul>
</li>
<li class="dropdown">
<a class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" href="#">Historical
<span class="caret"></span></a>
<ul class="dropdown-menu">
<li>Ana</li>
<!--<li>Bill</li>
<!--<li>Claudette</li>
<!--<li>Danny</li>
<!--<li>Erika</li>
<!--<li>Fred</li>-->
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right">
<li><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-user"></span> Sign Up</li>
<li><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-log-in"></span> Login</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</nav>

Remove this from index.css
.navbar{
background-color:#039;
width:120px;
position:fixed;
left: 0px;
top: 0px;
float:left;
}
that is what is messing it up!

Joomla! - Add class to a tag in menu

Heres how my menu should look like
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNavDropdown">
<ul class="navbar-nav ml-auto">
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Anfrage</a>
</li>
[....]
</ul>
</div
But here is how it actually looks like
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNavDropdown">
<ul class="navbar-nav ml-auto">
<li class="nav-item active">
Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
Anfrage
</li>
[....]
</ul>
</div
The key difference is that there is the class 'nav-link' missing.
I dont want to use JQuery, but I would like to write an overwrite for my template.
Mod_menu is probably the right one, is it?
I have been looking through every default file but I did not figure out a way to solve my problem.

Joomla dropdown menu

I have a problem with dropdown bootstrap menu in joomla. It looks like it's expaneded all the time. I've already overwritten a mod_menu, so < li > have a class = "nav-item" and I think it can be cause of this problem. Maybe someone had a simillar problem, and know how to solve this. enter image description here
The red element's should be visible only when i focus the 'dropdown menu', but they are visible all the time.
There is a html of the menu (Sorry for the style of code)
<nav class="navbar navbar-light navbar-expand-md" id="navbar" style="background-color:#282d32;">
<div class="container-fluid">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#" id="logo" style="color:#ffffff;font-size:25px;font-weight:500;letter-spacing:0px;font-family:'Noto Sans', sans-serif;"><strong>#</strong></a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navcol-1">
<span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navcol-1" style="font-family:'Noto Sans', sans-serif;">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav ml-auto" id="nav">
<li class="item-106 nav-item">Main</li><li class="item-107 deeper parent nav-item">Dropdown menu<ul class="nav navbar-nav ml-auto"><li class="item-108 nav-item">First
</li><li class="item-115 nav-item">Second</li>
<li class="item-109 nav-item">Third</li>
<li class="item-110 nav-item">Wywrotki</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li class="item-112 nav-item">
xxx
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</nav>
Edit: I forgot about fourth element in the menu, dont worry about this.
I would like to achieve something like 'hover me' on this page:
https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_css_dropdown.asp
the example in the link ( W3School ) is done with only css, but you html has bootstrap classes
so to make the dropdown work you need bootstrap's .js and
here's a working fiddle : https://jsfiddle.net/69hev2g4/23/
basically you needed an id for the second ul and add data-target and dropdown-collapse to the link before , and the class collapse for it to be hidden at first,
<nav class="navbar navbar-light" id="navbar" style="background-color:#282d32;">
<div class="container-fluid">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#" id="logo" style="color:#ffffff;font-size:25px;font-weight:500;letter-spacing:0px;font-family:'Noto Sans', sans-serif;"><strong>#</strong></a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navcol-1">
<span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="" id="navcol-1" style="font-family:'Noto Sans', sans-serif;">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav " id="nav" >
<li class="item-106 nav-item">Main</li>
<li class="item-107 deeper parent nav-item" style="width:284px;">Dropdown menu
<ul class="nav navbar-nav collapse"id="dropdown">
<li class="item-108 nav-item">First</li>
<li class="item-115 nav-item">Second</li>
<li class="item-109 nav-item">Third</li>
<li class="item-110 nav-item">Wywrotki</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li class="item-112 nav-item">
xxx
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</nav>

Drop down menu does not work on username

I have made a login system and I am trying to add a dropdown to the username for settings. However, I can make it look like it has a dropdown but no menus appear.
<?php else:?>
<nav class="navbar navbar-inverse">
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="navbar-header">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">A09hopper.xyz</a>
</div>
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<li class="active">Home</li>
<li class="dropdown"><a class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" href="#">Page 1 <span class="caret"></span></a>
<ul class="dropdown-menu">
<li>Page 1-1</li>
<li>Page 1-2</li>
<li>Page 1-3</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Page 2</li>
</ul>
<ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right">
<?php if(!empty($_SESSION['username'])):?>
<li class="dropdown">
<li class="dropdown"><a class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" href="#"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-user"> </span><?php echo $_SESSION['username'];?><span class="caret"></span></a></li>
<ul class="dropdown-menu">
<li>1-1</li>
<li>1-2</li>
</ul>
</li>
<?php else:?>
<li><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-user"></span> Sign Up</li>
<?php endif;?>
</ul>
</div>
</nav>
<?php endif; ?>
I have tried everything I can think of but to no avail.
I have just fixed my issue. The code below is the fix.
<nav class="navbar navbar-inverse">
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="navbar-header">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">A09hopper.xyz</a>
</div>
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<li class="active">Home</li>
<li class="dropdown"><a class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" href="#">Page 1 <span class="caret"></span></a>
<ul class="dropdown-menu">
<li>Page 1-1</li>
<li>Page 1-2</li>
<li>Page 1-3</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Page 2</li>
</ul>
<ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right">
<?php if(!empty($_SESSION['username'])):?>
<li class="dropdown"><a class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" href="#"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-user"> </span><?php echo $_SESSION['username'];?> <span class="caret"></span></a>
<ul class="dropdown-menu">
<li>Page 1-1</li>
<li>Page 1-2</li>
<li>Page 1-3</li>
</ul>
</li>
<?php else:?>
<li><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-user"></span> Sign Up</li>
<?php endif;?>
</ul>
</div>
</nav>

How to make bootsrap 3.0 navbar brand a dropdown?

Ok, im making a website and i really want to have a navbar with a drop down.
So it will be like | BRAND - Link Link Link.
When you click BRAND it will drop a dropdown that will have links, similar to just a link dropdown.
<html>
<style>
.navbar .divider-vertical{
height:50px;
border-left: 1px solid rgb(242, 242, 242); /*Feel free to change left color or width!*/
border-right: 1px solid rgb(255, 255, 255);/*Feel free to change right color or width!*/
}
.navbar-brand {
margin-left: 150px; /* This value could be different for another layout */
}
#brand-Dropdown {
margin-left: 150px;
top: 48px;
}
</style>
<body>
<nav class="navbar navbar-default navbar-fixed-top" role="navigation">
<div class="container-fluid">
<!-- Brand and toggle get grouped for better mobile display -->
<div class="navbar-header">
<button type="button" class="navbar-toggle" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#bs-example-navbar-collapse-1">
