I am trying to build a travel planner website for my college using php and MySQL. I want to link train schedule searches from my website to another official website http://www.indianrail.gov.in/know_Station_Code.html such that when a user searches for a particular train in my website then he automatically gets search results in my website without being redirected to the official website. Is there any way I can link my website query to this website?
Option 1 - Direct re-post
<form action="http://the-other-site.com/">
...
<input name="searchterm">
</form>
Option 2 - use CURL in the backend
$curl=curl_init('http://the-other-site.com');
curl_setopt($curl,CURLOPT_POST,1);
curl_setopt($curl,CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER,1);
curl_setopt($curl,CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS,'searchterm='.$_POST['searchterm']);
$result=curl_exec($curl);
//display the result

I'm creating a wordpress website, and I want that when I or an user make a post it gets automatically reposted to other sites.
I know that there is API for major websites, for example facebook and twitter. But what if I want to make a post in olx.com? they have no API. Is there a way to create a php function that logs into olx, post and logs out? It doesn't have to be a php function, i'm open to ideas.
There is a lot of reasons to not do that.
Better stay safe and play with the websites that have api, allow feeds or already implemented a way for you to post on their sites.

How i show data postet in another website to mysql database, in real time on main page of website using PHP and that any new data is displayed in a new line.
Datas that i need show are: name, and finish time (from race).
Use .setTimeout() JS method on main page of website and do jQuery.ajax() requests to your server to update data.

How can I navigate on a website, using php ? (I want with a local program to access a website and parse html pages, fill forms, click buttons and being redirected, etc.; as if PHP was a real guy). Yet, I use Ruby Mechanise but it's not sufficient.
Thanks
To interact with a website you would most likely use a javascript framework such as phantomjs or dalekjs. PHP is not made for DOM manipulation and interaction or page automation.

I am creating a football transfer site and i want to know how to extract particular pieces of data from a site and insert it into mine. For example, this site : http://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/football_rumours.aspx , shows you transfer rumours and I want to insert them into my site however they update every 24 hours so I want the new data to appear on my site aswell.
Im not asking for any code, just some tips or videos that can be used to learn about this.
Before anyone says this is illegal, football rumours are considered as 'facts' hence available to reuse.
thanks in advance !
Try with this tool. It downloads the pages with the code that is only translated like html, js and sometimes php. i don't know if it works with .asp .aspx.

I am currently working on a website built entirely using Twitter Bootstrap framework.Its a website that provides questions to the users of different engineering branches.However,is it possible that i took an input like "enginnering branch=user_engineering_branch" via registration form and redirect him to a page,after his successful login,that contains questions of his branch only instead showing up the entire questions.?
I coded the entire login/registration script using php so please provide the solution in php only.
Thanks.!
Something as simple as
if ($_POST['enginnering branch']=="user_engineering_branch") {
$redirectURL="address/to/your/branch";
header('Location: '.$redirectURL);
}
