thnkx in advance ...
i wana replace all the ? and = of the url by /
like
domain.com/page.php?id=44 by
domain.com/page/id/4

First off, you need to clarify what you intend to accomplish.
If you intend to have the user visit domain.com/page/id/4 and have it internally be rewritten to page.php?id=4, then you have two options:
1) use a rewrite rule, such as:
RewriteRule ^/?page/([^/]+)/(.+)$ page.php?$1=$2
2) (preferred) use MultiViews and have your php script do the logic for you by parsing the
REQUEST_URI ($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']).

Removing a word from our urls

We have the following file structure in our ftp account.
/index.php
/views/account/users/index.php
/views/account/clients/index.php
/views/profile/index.php
/views/settings/index.php
....
Which means that the urls is as follows:
www.thesite.com/
www.thesite.com/views/account/users/
www.thesite.com/views/account/clients/
www.thesite.com/views/profile/
www.thesite.com/views/settings/
...
What we need, is to remove views from all possible variations, so that we can link to, or enter the following url in the browser's address bar.
www.thesite.com/account/users/
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try these rules in your site root .htaccess:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+views/(\S*)\s [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1 [NE,L,R=302]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^((?!views/).+)$ views/$1 [NC,L]
You can use the following Rules in Root/.htaccess :
RewriteEngine on
#/foo to /views/foo
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /views/([^/.\s]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1 [NC,L,R]
RewriteRule ^([^/.]+)/?$ /views/$1 [NC,L]
#Rewrite /foo/bar to /views/foo/bar
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /views/([^/]+)/([^/.\s]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1/%2 [NC,L,R]
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/([^/.]+)/?$ /views/$1/$2 [NC,

replacing ? by / and triming some text from url by htaccess

Hello all i am having a website where i have htaccess file the code inside the file seems like
ErrorDocument 404 /error404.php
ErrorDocument 403 /error404.php
Options -Indexes
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} POST [NC]
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?domain.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|jpeg)$ http://www.domain.com [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+(page1)\.php\?eid=(78)[&\s] [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1/%2? [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^(page1)/(\d+)$ /$1.php?eid=$2 [L,QSA,NC]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+page2\.php\?url=([^\s&]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+(.+?)\.php[\s?] [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1 [R=302,L,NE]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/$1\.php -f [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.+?)/?$ /$1.php [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /page2.php?url=$1 [L,QSA]
The file successfully redirects the page2.php?url=xyz to page2/xyz but it directs the page1.php?eid=3 to page1?eid=3 besides this i also needs to direct the page3.php?did=3 to page3/3
I need the page2.php?eid=3 to be directed to page2/3
and page3.php?did=4 to page3/4
page1 is directed fine.
Can any one help me actually i am not so good in htaccess but i have tried to manipulate the htacces file but no help.
Thanks

htaccess- unable to remove file extension from url php

I am trying the following rules to remove file extension from file name but the problem is it is showing that it is removed but when I login again it is not redirecting to my home page.
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase \
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.example.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,}\s([^.]+)\.php [NC]
RewriteRule ^ %1 [R,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.php -f
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/$ $1.php
Thank You
In your redirection just type in page name with no extension, eg. header('Location: index'); or redirect_user('index'); and use the code below in your .htaccess file. now the link on the browser will be say "localhost/index"
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^([^./]{3}[^.]*)$ /index.php?page=$1 [QSA,L]
I think your rules are just a little bit off. You are using THE_REQUEST to redirect php extension to non php extension but you are not using a / after %1 in the rewriterule so when the next rule is read it is not matching because it will only internally redirect if there is a / in that rule. So either add a forward slash after %1 in the second rule or make the backslash optional in the last rule. I would just make it optional in last rule so it will match either way.
Try this update and see how it works.
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.example\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,}\ /([^&\ ]+).php [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.php -f
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/?$ $1.php [NC,L]

htaccess rewrite url and redirect

I am wondering how to rewrite this url profile.php?user=1 to /user/1.
I know that this can be done by .htaccess. Here is what i have tried and it worked fine but the only problem is that it
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+profile\.php\?user=([^\s&]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=302,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/?$ profile.php?user=$1 [L,QSA]
Besides these codes, my .htacces also has these lines
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?domain.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|png)$ http://www.domain.com [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]
ErrorDocument 404 /error404.php
ErrorDocument 403 /error404.php
Options -Indexes
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+page\.php\?pagename=([^\s&]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /page.php?pagename=$1 [L,QSA]
Please also tell me if my .htaccess page is correct. I am not good at htaccess
Change this:
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+profile\.php\?user=([^\s&]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=302,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/?$ profile.php?user=$1 [L,QSA]
to:
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+profile\.php\?user=([^\s&]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /user/%1? [R=302,L]
RewriteRule ^user/([^/]+)/?$ profile.php?user=$1 [L,QSA]
And make sure the page has either absolute links or add this to the page's header:
<base href="/" />
otherwise, all your links will be broken.
In htacess rewrite you want to in fact redirect a url structure to a different url
If you have a link to profile.php?user=1 you will have to change this like to this : profile.php/user/1 then tell your htacess to redirect this adresse to this profile.php?user=1
You can do this :
RewriteRule ^user/(.*)$ index.php?&user=$1
If you want to test out some htaccess I will recomande this usedul site : http://htaccess.madewithlove.be/

use htaccess to make the rewrite url

hello all i am having a project where i need to convert this url www.domain.com/page.php?brand=abcd to www.domain.com/abcd
i know that this is possible with .htaccess file
currently in my htaccess file i have folowing code
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?domain.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|png)$ http://www.domain.com [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]
ErrorDocument 404 /error404.php
ErrorDocument 403 /error404.php
Options -Indexes
please help me to do this and what line should i add to .htaccess file to achive the purpose
i tried adding
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /page.php?brand=$1 [L,QSA]
Your last rule should work for internal rewrite to /page.php?brand=abcd.
For redirecting /page.php?brand=abcd to /abcd you can use this new rule:
# external redirect from actual URL to pretty one
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+page\.php\?brand=([^\s&]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /page.php?brand=$1 [L,QSA]
you can Try this
Options +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} !=443
RewriteRule ^ http://litelmaxx.com%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]
Options -Indexes
