I have started with YII2 just today. i have installed it successfully and also created required Model, Controllers & views in that using CRUD.
Now my question is as below:
I want to create one Global Validator Rule which we can use in throughout the Models in system.
What i have tried so far:
For that i have created one new model file(FormValidator) in common folder and generate one custom rule method in it.
common/model/FormValidator.php

use Yii;
use yii\base\Model;
class FormValidator extends \yii\db\ActiveRecord {
}
then i tried to extend this model file to my frontend model file. but its not working.
frontend/model/Customerprofile.php
namespace frontend\models;

class Customerprofile extends FormValidator{
}
It's throw below error message:
PHP Fatal Error – yii\base\ErrorException
Class 'common\models\FormValidator' not found
I don't know what i have missing in all these process, if anyone of you help me out from this, would be much appreciated!

If you want to extend some master class for model you have to simply extend CActiveRecord and then your models will extend this masterclass.

Hi there I am having trouble using a model within a class there error being shown is Error

I created the model and the controller using the command line with PHP artisan.
I have tried the solutions from
laravel model class not found
as well as Model not found in Laravel
and a few laracast questions but i still get the error.
May need to rebuild the classmap

With App\Models namespace in your RegsiteredUser model, the RegisteredUser.php model file must be in the app/Models/RegisteredUser.php directory. Try to move the Models folder outside the Http folder. And from now, you should never put the Models folder in the Http folder again.
Your error is App/Http/Models/RegisteredUser and use App\Models\RegisteredUsers;, did you place your Models in Http?. that is not correct, the Models should be in App root directory, so you are calling the RegisteredUser in the wrong place
I am attempting to add custom repsitories (contract and Eloquent) in Laravel.
I don't understand where to add them and how to bind with services.
Can any body show the best example for add own wn repository class and interfaces in Laravel?

Create a directory in your App folder.Like - App/Acme
Create a Repository File in Acme folder. App/Acme/CustomRepository.php and also import the name space on that Repository file.Like- namespace Acme;
Use your model. Like- use App\Models\User;
In you controller inject the CustomRepository Class.Like-

For make usage of repository pattern (if it is that what you want to say), you have two options, one of it is to implement under a self-defined namespace (let's say App\Repositories), an interface with the methods you want to use in all your repositories, maybe AbstractRepository or something like that, this one choice is painful because of the lot of code you have to write, the other choice (what I would use), is to install the following package https://github.com/andersao/l5-repository, is really useful and already have inside a lot of methods, just follow the instructions of the readme file and you will not have any issue at all implementing this pattern, hope it helps, bests! ;)
I encountered the topic called 'namespace' in php after I started working with Laravel. While trying to understand namespace I found that to extend a class under a namespace, I need to include that class in my current page. Like the following:

I am wondering how Laravel only use namespace to include classes. Like if I create a controller called 'userController'. The structure of the page is

They never included the php page which holds the 'controller' class. But they were able to extend it somehow. Also I can use "View" ,"Auth" just by using the use View or use Auth command. How is it done? How can I implement the same with the code I have provided? Thanks in advance.
Laravel uses composer.php for autoloading the classes. All classes in the autoload directory will be pre loaded. So you can just use the namespace and consume anywhere across the application.
Learn more about composer, composer config can be found on composer.json in your root path for the application
I want to use my own method for the emailResetLink, because I want to send emails with styling and I'm using CssToInlineStyles.
First I tried extending the PasswordBroker:
in PasswordController changed use Illuminate\Contracts\Auth\PasswordBroker to App\PasswordBroker
created new empty class, that extends the PasswordBroker

And I got this error (the newly created class is empty):
Target [Illuminate\Contracts\Auth\UserProvider] is not instantiable.
Then I tried to create contextual binding with:
$this->app->when('Illuminate\Auth\Passwords\PasswordBroker')
->needs('Illuminate\Contracts\Mail\Mailer')
->give('App\Services\Mailer');
But nothing happened (it still uses the old Mailer).
Any ideas of how can I achieve the goal?
I have a namespace missing problem in Yii 2. I installed the advanced application. I am referencing a backend model from my frontend controller. Below is a code snippet of my backend model, frontend controller and error message.

I have resolved my problem. I was trying to access a backend model class from a frontend controller. I resolved this by moving the backend model class to the common folder and from there I can reference it from both the backend and frontend.

In your frontend, first include the namespace and then instantiate:
use app\models\PaymentsMethod\TermsAndConditions;
$tnc = new TermsAndConditions();
OR
As alfallouji said you can directly use:
$tnc = new \app\models\PaymentsMethod\TermsAndConditions();
If you are accessing from frontend then use frontend instead of app
i.e
namespace frontend\models\PaymentsMethod;
and if you are accessing from backend then use as below
namespace backend\models\PaymentsMethod;
You defined the model using this namespace app\models\PaymentsMethod and then you are trying to instantiate \backend\models\PaymentsMethod\TermsAndConditions.
You should be doing that in your frontend model :
$tnc = new \app\models\PaymentsMethod\TermsAndConditions();
Namespace declaration statement has to be the very first statement in the script
