I'm trying to run a Symfony task but when i try to instantiate a class i get a fatal error.
The class is located in
Apps
MyApp
lib
My code is as follows
protected function execute($arguments = array(), $options = array())
{
$this->reloadAutoload();
// initialize the database connection
$databaseManager = new sfDatabaseManager($this->configuration);
$connection = $databaseManager->getDatabase($options['connection'])->getConnection();
// Get file from dir
if(!in_array($arguments['filename'] . $this->fileExt, scandir($this->path))) {
$this->logSection('Import CSV', 'File doesn\'t exist.', null, 'ERROR');
return;
}
$path = $this->path . '/' . $arguments['filename'] . $this->fileExt;
if(class_exists('CsvReader')) {
$csvReader = new CsvReader($path);
} else {
$this->logSection('Import CSV', 'Class doesn\'t exist.', null, 'ERROR');
return;
}
// add your code here
$this->logSection('Import CSV', 'All content imported.');
}
If there is anything i'm missing then let me know and i'll amend my question.
Thanks.
There are a couple things that might be preventing you from calling a class in your app:
You need to refresh your cache with php symfony cc
Your Symfony autoloader fails to find your class because the filename does not end with .class.php

I'm working on a project whereby I have the following file structure:
index.php
|---lib
|--|lib|type|class_name.php
|--|lib|size|example_class.php
I'd like to auto load the classes, class_name and example_class (named the same as the PHP classes), so that in index.php the classes would already be instantiated so I could do:
$class_name->getPrivateParam('name');
I've had a look on the net but can't quite find the right answer - can anyone help me out?
EDIT
Thanks for the replies. Let me expand on my scenario. I'm trying to write a WordPress plugin that can be dropped into a project and additional functionality added by dropping a class into a folder 'functionality' for example, inside the plugin. There will never be 1000 classes, at a push maybe 10?
I could write a method to iterate through the folder structure of the 'lib' folder, including every class then assigning it to a variable (of the class name), but didn't think that was a very efficient way to do it but it perhaps seems that's the best way to achieve what I need?
Please, if you need to autoload classes - use the namespaces and class names conventions with SPL autoload, it will save your time for refactoring.
And of course, you will need to instantiate every class as an object.
Thank you.
Like in this thread:
PHP Autoloading in Namespaces
But if you want a complex workaround, please take a look at Symfony's autoload class:
https://github.com/symfony/ClassLoader/blob/master/ClassLoader.php
Or like this (I did it in one of my projects):
<?
spl_autoload_register(function($className)
{
$namespace=str_replace("\\","/",__NAMESPACE__);
$className=str_replace("\\","/",$className);
$class=CORE_PATH."/classes/".(empty($namespace)?"":$namespace."/")."{$className}.class.php";
include_once($class);
});
?>
and then you can instantiate your class like this:
<?
$example=new NS1\NS2\ExampleClass($exampleConstructParam);
?>
and this is your class (found in /NS1/NS2/ExampleClass.class.php):
<?
namespace NS1\NS2
{
class Symbols extends \DB\Table
{
public function __construct($param)
{
echo "hello!";
}
}
}
?>
If you have an access to the command line, you can try it with composer in the classMap section with something like this:
{
"autoload": {
"classmap": ["yourpath/", "anotherpath/"]
}
}
then you have a wordpress plugin to enable composer in the wordpress cli : http://wordpress.org/plugins/composer/
function __autoload($class_name) {
$class_name = strtolower($class_name);
$path = "{$class_name}.php";
if (file_exists($path)) {
require_once($path);
} else {
die("The file {$class_name}.php could not be found!");
}
}
UPDATE:
__autoload() is deprecated as of PHP 7.2
http://php.net/manual/de/function.spl-autoload-register.php
spl_autoload_register(function ($class) {
#require_once('lib/type/' . $class . '.php');
#require_once('lib/size/' . $class . '.php');
});
I have an example here that I use for autoloading and initiliazing.
Basically a better version of spl_autoload_register since it only tries to require the class file whenever you initializes the class.
Here it automatically gets every file inside your class folder, requires the files and initializes it. All you have to do, is name the class the same as the file.
index.php
<?php
require_once __DIR__ . '/app/autoload.php';
$loader = new Loader(false);
User::dump(['hello' => 'test']);
autoload.php
<?php
class Loader
{
public static $library;
protected static $classPath = __DIR__ . "/classes/";
protected static $interfacePath = __DIR__ . "/classes/interfaces/";
public function __construct($requireInterface = true)
{
if(!isset(static::$library)) {
// Get all files inside the class folder
foreach(array_map('basename', glob(static::$classPath . "*.php", GLOB_BRACE)) as $classExt) {
// Make sure the class is not already declared
if(!in_array($classExt, get_declared_classes())) {
// Get rid of php extension easily without pathinfo
$classNoExt = substr($classExt, 0, -4);
$file = static::$path . $classExt;
if($requireInterface) {
// Get interface file
$interface = static::$interfacePath . $classExt;
// Check if interface file exists
if(!file_exists($interface)) {
// Throw exception
die("Unable to load interface file: " . $interface);
}
// Require interface
require_once $interface;
//Check if interface is set
if(!interface_exists("Interface" . $classNoExt)) {
// Throw exception
die("Unable to find interface: " . $interface);
}
}
// Require class
require_once $file;
// Check if class file exists
if(class_exists($classNoExt)) {
// Set class // class.container.php
static::$library[$classNoExt] = new $classNoExt();
} else {
// Throw error
die("Unable to load class: " . $classNoExt);
}
}
}
}
}
/*public function get($class)
{
return (in_array($class, get_declared_classes()) ? static::$library[$class] : die("Class <b>{$class}</b> doesn't exist."));
}*/
}
You can easily manage with a bit of coding, to require classes in different folders too. Hopefully this can be of some use to you.
You can specify a namespaces-friendly autoloading using this autoloader.
<?php
spl_autoload_register(function($className) {
$file = __DIR__ . '\\' . $className . '.php';
$file = str_replace('\\', DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR, $file);
if (file_exists($file)) {
include $file;
}
});
Make sure that you specify the class file's location corretly.
Source
spl_autoload_register(function ($class_name) {
$iterator = new DirectoryIterator(dirname(__FILE__));
$files = $iterator->getPath()."/classes/".$class_name.".class.php";
if (file_exists($files)) {
include($files);
} else {
die("Warning:The file {$files}.class.php could not be found!");
}
});
do this in a file and called it anything like (mr_load.php)
this were u put all your classes
spl_autoload_register(function($class){
$path = '\Applicaton/classes/';
$extension = '.php';
$fileName = $path.$class.$extension;
include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].$fileName;
})
;
then create another file and include mr_load.php; $load_class = new BusStop(); $load_class->method()
While upgrading to PHP7, I encountered these problem.
The issue is am trying to create codes that I can reuse like a mini-framework and the RUN function where the problem is used to load the relevant template and supplying the variables. It complains about
undefined index
of these 2 variables
$controller = $routes[$this->route][$this->method]['controller'];
$action = $routes[$this->route][$this->method]['action'];
and it also complained about this line
$page = $controller->$action();
which displayed
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Method name must be a string in...
public function run() {
$routes = $this->routes->getRoutes();
$authentication = $this->routes->getAuthentication();
if (isset($routes[$this->route]['login']) && !$authentication->isLoggedIn()) {
header('location: /login/error');
}
else if (isset($routes[$this->route]['permissions']) && !$this->routes->checkPermission($routes[$this->route]['permissions'])) {
header('location: /login/permissionserror');
}
else {
$controller = $routes[$this->route][$this->method]['controller'];
$action = $routes[$this->route][$this->method]['action'];
$page = $controller->$action();
$title = $page['title'];
if (isset($page['variables'])) {
$output = $this->loadTemplate($page['template'], $page['variables']);
}
else {
$output = $this->loadTemplate($page['template']);
}
echo $this->loadTemplate('layout.html.php', ['loggedIn' => $authentication->isLoggedIn(),
'output' => $output,
'title' => $title
]);
}
This is the index.php
try {
include __DIR__ . '/../includes/autoload.php';
$route = ltrim(strtok($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], '?'), '/');
$entryPoint = new \Ninja\EntryPoint($route, $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'], new \Ijdb\IjdbRoutes());
$entryPoint->run();
}
catch (PDOException $e) {
$title = 'An error has occurred';
$output = 'Database error: ' . $e->getMessage() . ' in ' .
$e->getFile() . ':' . $e->getLine();
include __DIR__ . '/../templates/layout.html.php';
}
The code is much, so, I can't display the whole code here since am using MVC pattern, but if there is anything you still want to know, I will gladly post it here
This code is runnable in php 7.2.7 (MAMP and LAMP), your way of dynamic function calling is invalid and your two variables are empty. This is not exact as yours but you can take logic form this demo.
Ok i am just providing a very simple example of reflection with mapping url to class along with functions. I make folder structure like below-
Here .htaccess is used to redirect all the url to index.php (if no file exists).
index.php include all code that could initialize code(for now only three files were there - uri.php, urlMapping.php and actions.php)
URI.php - have function that provide values like basepath, baseurl, uri
urlMappig.php - that allows you to provide which url hit which class along with method
actions.php will call dynamic class and function (reflection)
now look into code of index.php
<?php
include_once('URI.php');
include_once('urlMapping.php');
include_once('actions.php');
?>
aNow code insise uri.php file -
<?php
// all function should be accessible to all file loaded now
// return full url
function full_url (){
return (isset($_SERVER['HTTPS']) ? "https" : "http") . "://$_SERVER[HTTP_HOST]$_SERVER[REQUEST_URI]";
}
// returns current directory
function directory() {
$parts = explode("/", __DIR__);
return $parts[count($parts)-1];
}
// return base url
function base_url(){
$dir = directory();
return substr(full_url(), 0, strpos(full_url(), $dir)+strlen($dir));
}
// return uri
function uri() {
return substr(full_url(), strlen(base_url())+1);
}
?>
Now code in urlMapping.php
Note - file name and name of the class must be same as you map url in
this file so that you can make call to dynamic classes and function on actions.php. If don't this will not work
<?php
// this $urlMap will be accessed in actions.php
$urlMap = [
// here we use only uri so .. https://example.com/login hit LoginController class along with login function, this is just only the mapping
'login' => ['class'=>'LoginController',
'function'=>'login'],
];
?>
Now actions.php code
<?php
// if call is not like example.com/ means no uri is there
if(uri()!='')
{
// if your uri exists in route collection or urlmapping collection then make call to your dynamic class and methods
if(array_key_exists(uri(), $urlMap))
{
// include the class file dynamically from controllers folder
include_once('controllers/'.$urlMap[uri()]['class'].'.php');
// making references for dynamic class
$controlerObject = new $urlMap[uri()]['class']();
// call function dynaically from the referece
$controlerObject->{$urlMap[uri()]['function']}();
}
else
{
// you can make 404 page not
echo 'No routing found';
}
}
// call for home page
else
{
include_once('index.html.php');
}
?>
Now controllres/LoginController.php class,
Note - As mentioned above file name and name of the class as in urlMapping.php
<?php
class LoginController{
public function login()
{
// .... something your code goes here
echo 'hello from the login function of login controller';
}
//...... other function you can define
}
?>
Before calling $page = $controller->$action(); check if controller and action are exists:
if (isset($routes[$this->route][$this->method]['controller'])
&& isset($routes[$this->route][$this->method]['action'])) {
$controller = $routes[$this->route][$this->method]['controller'];
$action = $routes[$this->route][$this->method]['action'];
$page = $controller->$action();
// ...
} else {
// return 404 Page not found
}

There are several areas to improve on here with the given code & approach.
As Anton correctly points out, you should not be directly requiring any of the quickbooks library files. If you've loaded this in via Composer then they will be automatically loaded because the Composer autoloader will load the QuickBooks file from the vendor. This is correct for Laravel as well as general Composer-based applications - the only difference with Laravel is that there isn't a specific Laravel Package ServiceProvider that's been written for this SDK, but that doesn't matter.
The QuickBooks library tries to jump on top of autoloading any class that starts with 'QuickBooks', so you're better off making a QuickBooks folder for your controller class. This is more of a 'gotcha' and has been pointed out in the repo issues.
The reason you're getting the Driver/.php error is because you have not specified your QBO_DSN, or have done so incorrectly - this DSN environment variable that you're passing to the initialisation is being run through parse_url() in the SDK code, coming up false or null and breaking the auto-loader for initalisation. If this was set to a proper connection string (e.g. mysqli://username:password#host:port/database and note that port must be a number or it's considered malformed), it would correctly process the DSN and continue to load the page. Be aware that initialisation will attempt to parse and fetch the network address of the host, so you can't just put a dummy value in there and expect it to work - this needs to exist first.
You're mixing your environment variables and application configuration, without using either of them properly. If you wanted your DB connection string (a.k.a. QBO_DSN) to be constructed a particular way into the application configuration setting qbo_mysql_connection, then you should be using the configuration setting when trying to initialise/load/etc. Instead of using env('QBO_DSN'), you should be using config('app.qbo_mysql_connection') to load the constructed version from your app settings. Typically you would not be loading so many environment variables into a controller at all - that should be handled by the application, and then the controller calling the application configuration so it's agnostic of how they were defined.
You shouldn't need to require anything from inside the app configuration file either - that file is just for configuration variables being set up.
Since the QuickBooks SDK isn't properly namespaced (yet), there isn't a nice PSR-4 way of loading (and use-ing) the classes, but it's still good practice to use use clauses at the top of the file (e.g. use QuickBooks_Utilities;) so that you can use the classes without fear of forgetting the preceding backslash (i.e. no more \QuickBooks_Utilities, just QuickBooks_Utilities in usage) - there are several instances in the given code where this has been forgotten, and will not work because the Laravel application is namespaced and will look for those classes in the App\Http\Controllers namespace (e.g. errors like "Cannot find class App\Http\Controllers\QuickBooks_Utilities").
Indentation - pick a style (e.g. tabs, 2-space, PSR-2, etc) and then stick to it. Run phpcs or some other clean-up tool over all of your code before committing to your repository or posting on SO - readability is important!
Using require instead of autoloader is a bad practice in modern frameworks (and generally in modern PHP). I highly recommend using the package manager (eg composer) to properly add modules to the project.
For example, to add a quickbooks library into the project using composer, you need to run only one command:
composer require consolibyte/quickbooks
Add this line in footer of Config/app.php
require_once '../QuickBooks.php';
This is an app that's intended to generate entities, allowing the end user to define the fields, and it worked like charm, until Sf 2.3 and PHP version something(don't recall the version that was running) on a debian 7. But now it's on a FreeBSD with PHP 5.4.28 and SF 2.4
It can create an entity from scratch or recreate and overwrite it with changes.. but all of a suden, the autoloader stopped (re-)loading the class after it's created. It wont be until next postback, that it actually sees the class, obviously if I don't create it again (e.g. commenting code).
So, The question is How can I force autoload of a class whose code had been written and saved to the class' php file during the request handling..?
The following code gives class not found.
/**

* created.

);
}
$justToAutoload = $this->tryInstantiate($docDefinition);
$this->log->info($justToAutoload);
return InputHandler\InputHandler::getClassShortcutNotation($docDefinition);
}
Inside the debugging fn tryInstantiate() I tried several things, unregistering autoloaders, re-including composer's (app/autoload.php)
protected function tryInstantiate(DocumentType $docDefinition)
{
$fqcn = "\\" . $this->getDocumentFqcn($docDefinition);
$log = $this->log;
$functions = spl_autoload_functions();
foreach($functions as $function) {
spl_autoload_unregister($function);
}
$newLoader = include $this->kernel->getRootDir() . '/autoload.php';
$newLoader->register(true);
$log->info('tryInstantiate');
// spl_autoload_register(function ($className) use ($fqcn, $log) {
// if ($className == $fqcn) {
// $log->info("Loading: " . $className);
// $baseDir = $this->kernel->getRootDir() . '/../src';
// $classFile = $baseDir . str_replace('\\', DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR , $fqcn) . '.php';
// include $classFile;
// }
// }, true, true);
//$fqcn = str_replace('\\', '\', $fqcn);
return $test = new \DocDigital\Bundle\DocumentBundle\Entity\CustomDocument\Test();
die(var_dump($test));
return new $fqcn();

return $deletMe = new \DocDigital\Bundle\DocumentBundle\Entity\CustomDocument\Test1();

}
}
always with the same result:
php.CRITICAL: Fatal Error: Class 'bundle\Entity\namespace\Test' not found
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
I have a strange bug at the moment in my web service I am coding.
When I am loading an specific url I get a success and error at the same time?
This is what I have in my index.php:
<?php
require_once 'functions/lib.php';
require_once 'core/init.php';
// Ask for request URL that was submitted and define scriptPath. Explode content of REQUEST URL to evaluate validity.
$requestURL = (($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] != "") ? $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] : $_SERVER['REDIRECT_URL']);
$scriptPath = dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']);
$requestURL = str_replace($scriptPath, "", $requestURL);
$requestParts = explode("/", $requestURL);
// Check for valid api version
$validAPIVersions = array("v1");
$apiVersion = $requestParts[1];
// If API Version not in valid API array return 404, else OK.
if (!in_array($apiVersion, $validAPIVersions)) {
httpResponseCode(404);
echo $GLOBALS['http_response_code'];
echo "<br>" . "API Version not valid";
exit();
}
// Check for valid API endpoint
$validEndPoints = array("tickets");
$endPoint = $requestParts[2];
if (!in_array($endPoint, $validEndPoints)) {
httpResponseCode(404);
echo $GLOBALS['http_response_code'];
echo "<br>" . "Endpoint not valid";
exit();
}
// get the endpoint class name
$endPoint = ucfirst(strtolower($endPoint));
$classFilePath = "$apiVersion/$endPoint.php";
if (!file_exists($classFilePath)) {
httpResponseCode(404);
echo $GLOBALS['http_response_code'];
exit();
}
// load endpoint class and make an instance
try {
require_once($classFilePath);
$instance = new $endPoint($requestParts);
} catch (Exception $e) {
httpResponseCode(500);
echo $GLOBALS['http_response_code'];
exit();
}
and this is the corresponding "Tickets.php"
<?php
echo "OK";
?>
In the last two rows of my index.php, I am loading the specific class (named in the URL). For testing purposes, I have an "echo "OK" in this file. And this is the result when I am loading the URL I need:
http://api.medifaktor.de/v1/tickets
OK
Fatal error: Class 'Tickets' not found in /usr/www/users/kontug/api.medifaktor.de/webservice/index.php on line 45
I get the OK I was expecting AND the error for the Class Tickets, that is not found. Line 45 is
$instance = new $endPoint($requestParts);
Can someone give me a helping hand?
Best
Sebastian
The problem is that you don't have a class "Tickets" defined. After you load the tickets.php file, you are attempting to instantiate a class. Loading a file is not the same thing as defining a class. Within tickets.php (or some other included file), you need to define the class, like so:
class Tickets
{
// some properties here
private $endpoint;
// some methods here
public function __construct($endpoint)
{
$this->endpoint = $endpoint;
}
}
If you're not sure how to construct classes in PHP, read the section in the manual on classes.
Update: I added some example code within the class for version PHP5+.
Try the following for your test, in the 'ticket.php' file add:
class Ticket {
public function __construct()
{
echo 'testing';
}
}
Then make sure you either namespace or require the file.
