I'm just a typical non professional PHP guy writing small apps for my website.
I am trying to install GetStream.io but because I don't know how to use composer (actually i tried, but i'm really not a terminal kind of person).
Anyway I couldn't create a autoloader as instructed by GetStream GitHub so I ended up creating my own autoloader.php using some codes pieced together from Stackoverflow.
My code
<?
function __autoload_namespaced_module($class) {
$path = str_replace('\\', '/', $class);
if (file_exists($file = ( $path . '.php'))) {
require_once($file);
}
}
spl_autoload_register();
spl_autoload_register('__autoload_namespaced_module');
?>
So yay i learnt something new today on autoload!!!
Until......
Fatal error: Class 'HttpSignatures\Context' not found in /GetStream/Stream/Signer.php on line 36
So now I know HttpSignatures\Context should be a php file in the home folder right, or something right but i check Git hub there's no such file....
Anyone encounter same problem and can install this SDK without composer?
Using composer to generate autoload files, or looking for dependencies can be a very difficult task for someone like me who are just using PHP to do simple apps.
I went through the steps in to use composer in MAC OS and it was complicated, very complicated and no idea what i was supposed to do following steps didn't help.
At last, I went online and find online PHP editors, and ended up with PHPStorm which gave me good syntax highlighter etc, and COMPOSER!
Now I finally know what composer is for and how it works.
TLDR: People who are having problem with composer, and have no idea what composer is, can try download PHPStorm for the 30days trial and just use it to generate the needed files.

Resolving the issue. My Case:
Before reading the question, my issue was solved due to my development environment. Using CodeKit (an application on MacOS), upon building my code from the source folder, items such as the composer.json and other files did not transfer causing the issues described below. If this does happen to you scout the two folder to look for discrepancies the paste the missing docs from the src to the build folder.
:: QUESTION ::
I am starting to use GCP today and after following the instructions defined here:
composer require google/cloud-storage
then:
putenv("GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=/path/to/creds.json");
require __DIR__.'/vendor/autoload.php';
use Google\Cloud\Storage\StorageClient;
$myid = "my-project-id";
$storage = new StorageClient([
'projectId'=>$myid
]);
var_dump($storage->buckets());
When running this i get the following error:
Fatal error: Class 'Google\Auth\Cache\MemoryCacheItemPool' not found in /place/to/vendor/google/cloud-core/RequestWrapperTrait.php on line 94
I have no idea how to solve the issue, as i am just getting started with GCP. No idea whether this is a problem with the platform or my code.
File structure appears as follows for the Google Auth:
vendor
google
auth
src
tests
cloud-core
cloud-storage
the /Cache/MemoryCacheItemPool exists inside both the tests and src folder, but the above is referencing it minus the src or tests folder.
I have also ran:
composer update
and uninstalled and reinstalled the package to no effect
Google Cloud Project Link
Where did you find the code that you used and pasted? Because the one present in the official documentation is different.
This portion of code is the one in the tutorial you linked, try to use the client library and post the error logs if get any!
require __DIR__ . '/vendor/autoload.php';
use Google\Cloud\Storage\StorageClient;
$projectId = 'YOUR_PROJECT_ID';
$storage = new StorageClient(['projectId' => $projectId]);
$bucketName = 'my-new-bucket';
$bucket = $storage->createBucket($bucketName);
echo 'Bucket ' . $bucket->name() . ' created.';
Remember that bucket name should be unique and therefore I would advice you to test it with a long complex name to avoid to hit already used names, and always test the result of the operation.
UPDATE
I tested also your code and it is working as well, therefore I believe that is an error in the setup of the environment.
Did you get any error while running the composer require google/cloud-storage? Because the class that is missing Google\Auth\Cache\MemoryCacheItemPool is part of Psr that is installed by the composer

UPDATE2
Matthew M found the error in its configuration and posted:
Finally resolved the issue. I'm using CodeKit in my working
environment and it looks like it is changing something when it
compiles. Ran an uncompiled version and it's working fine.
I'm using this library to implement the Nexmo SMS service on my server. I required the library using Composer like so:
"require" : {
"prawnsalad/nexmo": "dev-master"
}
which I found here and followed the instructions included in the README like so:
require 'vendor/autoload.php';
use NexmoMessage;
$phone = '123456789';
$sms = new NexmoMessage(NEXMO_KEY, NEXMO_SECRET);//defined in another file
$sms->sendText($phone, 'from', "yo");//$phone is a valid number in actual case
However I keep getting the error in the title of this question. I see that Composer has imported the library successfully and I see the class and constructor for NexmoMessage, yet for some reason this error keeps happening no matter what I do. I'm not sure if this is due to an issue with the library or with how I'm using Composer. I've never had an issue with Composer in the past so I'm boggled why this is happening here. Thanks
Well, that library states that it supports PSR-4, which means they absolutely MUST use PHP namespaces, but they don't. That last commit 8 months ago https://github.com/prawnsalad/Nexmo-PHP-lib/commit/8e422c4f8f43c52acb70ebd5f9e7c6ff81a1f352 broke the autoloading. And nobody noticed up to today.
You can easily tell by looking at the source code: There is no namespace being used.
Your best action now would be to fix this issue and send a pull request! Github allows to edit files in the browser! Second best action would be to create an issue and let the authors know.
I've developed a small project on a machine, using CakePHP 3.0, and I need it to run on another machine. I've tried to install it on several other machines.
If I run the composer to install the CakePHP 3.0, then I copy my stuff to overwrite it, the project works. I've tried this on two machines and had no problem so far. If I don't run the composer, and just copy the stuff to the target machine, it gives me the following error. I've tried this on 3 machines, and every machine gives me this:
Fatal error: Class 'Locale' not found in /home/u113681897/public_html/vendor/cakephp/cakephp/src/I18n/I18n.php on line 229
Fatal error: Class 'Locale' not found in /home/u113681897/public_html/vendor/cakephp/cakephp/src/I18n/I18n.php on line 229
I've copied the whole project to this server to test.
I told you this because I thought it has something to do with my problem. The point is that I have to run this on a machine that is not mine, and I can't install composer on it. The /public_html/vendor/cakephp/cakephp/src/I18n/ has files related to internationalization and localization, but my project will never be translated, so a workaround to make the project ignore those files would be enough to solve my problem.
The following code is an excerpt from the (...)/I18n/I18n.php that might be relevant:
<?php
namespace Cake\I18n;
use Aura\Intl\FormatterLocator;
use Aura\Intl\PackageLocator;
use Aura\Intl\TranslatorFactory;
use Cake\I18n\Formatter\IcuFormatter;
use Cake\I18n\Formatter\SprintfFormatter;
use Locale;
class I18n {
// lots of code here
public static function defaultLocale() {
if (static::$_defaultLocale === null) {
static::$_defaultLocale = Locale::getDefault() ?: 'en_US';
// the line above is the Line 229
}
return static::$_defaultLocale;
}
// many code here too
}
I've checked that another file also tries to access this Locale class, but I don't know if there are other files trying to access it as well. Many files from everywhere inside the project tries to access methods from I18n.php. I need it running but I can't figure out how to make it run.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
As I just found out, prior to CakePHP 3.0, the installation must be done by composer, as stated in the 3.0 migration guide:
CakePHP should be installed with Composer
Since CakePHP can no longer easily be installed via PEAR, or in a shared
directory, those options are no longer supported. Instead you should use
Composer to install CakePHP into your application.
So it won't run on regular free web hosting services.
Im kind of new with Travis, and I am expreimenting with it right now. I uploaded have my PHP Project on Github and when I let it test via Travis it fails and gives me this error.
PHP Fatal error: Class 'controllers\Welcome' not found in /home/travis/build/ezylot/PHPSkeleton/tests/controllers/welcomeTest.php on line 4
I use a autoloader to load the classes, and it is no problem on my local machine. I include the autoloader in bootsrap.php with the bootstrap in the PHPUnit Konfiguration-XML File.
<?php
if (!#include __DIR__ . '/../vendor/autoload.php') {
die('You must set up the project dependencies, run the following commands:
wget http://getcomposer.org/composer.phar
php composer.phar install');
}
?>
You are most likely developing on OSX which has case insensitive filesystem and tests pass. Travis uses case sensitive file system. Try renaming app/controllers/welcome.php to app/controllers/Welcome.php.
In general it is good idea to follow PSR-1 standard to avoid autoloading issues.
I had a short php open tag at the top of the class file.
<?
as opposed to
<?php
This broke it on the remote, but not on my local. Which is weird, because I would've expected it to break locally too.
Putting this out there in case someone else is in the same odd situation.
I am trying to install xml diff ; https://github.com/mmacia/XMLdiff and i have not managed yet to make it work.Whenever i run any test example,i get
Fatal error: Interface 'PHPUnit_Framework_Test' not found in
C:\xampp\php\PEAR\PHPUnit\Framework\TestSuite.php on line 85
Has anyone managed to install and use the library.I am using xampp on windows.
I believe your problem has to do with PHPUnit's Autoloader.php not being included. This file sets the php spl_autoloadspl_register function which is responsible for loading in interfaces and classes like PHPUnit_Framework_Test.
According to this SO question, you have to include the autoloader file manually. Without knowing more about your set-up and how that particular library works, I would say do something like this in the appropriate file(s):
// define phpunit path
if ( ! defined('PHPUNIT_PATH')) {
// define an absolute path to your PHPUnit dir
// CHECK THIS, i'm not good with php on windows:
define('PHPUNIT_PATH','C:\xampp\php\PEAR\PHPUnit');
}
// Then include the autoloader like this:
include PHPUNIT_PATH.'Autoloader.php';
I hope this helps you or anyone else out.
Check execution flags for C:\xampp\php\PEAR\PHPUnit\Framework\Framework\Test.php
The file needs to be executable by the user who is launching tests (probably you).
